We are so happy that we chose Down Home Renovations and Randy Ward for our home remodel! Randy understood our vision for the project and helped us keep the character of our home intact as he added approximately 1500 square feet of living space. The new addition meshes perfectly with the original home interior and exterior. The project came in on time and on budget even with the challenges of inspectors and quarantine. Randy communicated with us regularly and visited the project routinely throughout the entire process. He worked with us to solve the unexpected issues that happen when remodeling an old house. We felt he was fair, honest and would even say that he is a friend after this project.
We are thrilled with our house and know it would not have been possible without the entire crew that worked on it. Roberto was an amazing project manager. He kept the worksite impeccably clean and was so patient with us during the process. We looked forward to every day he and Litchi were on site. Juan and his crew were also incredible. Their trim and finish work made our house look like a masterpiece. Troy and his team worked with us so the house functioned the way we hoped with every light switch right at our fingertip. Cassie and her tile team created works of art in our bathrooms and kitchen. Russ and his team laid the block and poured the foundation for the garage of our dreams.
Randy has a assembled a wonderfully skilled team of professionals who are also incredibly kind people.

Our home was hit by the March 2020 tornado in the Donelson area. We immediately contacted Randy since he had done work for us before. He was very responsive in coming to our aid, and helped us with insurance quandaries the whole time.

A third of our home had to be completely torn down and rebuilt, as well as damage in almost every remaining room from rains. The finished project is so much better than what we even imagined! Any snags we hit along the way, Randy was very responsive and fixed it pronto. I can't speak highly enough about the work ethics and integrity of his crews, they were all sweethearts. We will definitely use Down Home again if needed, and highly recommend them.

We hired Randy to remodel our home in the spring of 2020. He was recommended to us via word-of-mouth from a friend. In scope for our job was removal of two walls, full kitchen remodel, replacement of all flooring on the first floor (including sub-floor), replacement of 18 windows, upstairs bath remodel, and installation of tongue and groove walls throughout the first floor of the house. Working with Randy and his crew has been very easy. We encountered a couple of surprises on the project which they easily adapted to. I suspect Randy’s flexibility is rare in the business; he accommodated several requests and minor changes in direction without change orders and did not nickel and dime us for little extras that came up during the job. His crew is very talented and we found them to be polite and keep a clean site. We communicated directly with the crew at times as the job was in progress and never once had a dispute or misunderstanding of the work to be completed.
Randy did not use he words “no” or “can’t” unless there was a good explanation for the reason why. My wife and I are very happy with our sourcing decision.

Randy Ward at Down Home Renovations is simply the best! We chose Randy to build a 1000 square foot addition for our master bedroom, bath and laundry and we couldn't be happier with the result. Randy is a self-proclaimed problem solver and he gets it done! We had a few surprises come up and Randy always presented us with options on how we could proceed. I can't say enough about how Randy and his subcontractors are intent on making things perfect for the homeowner. Fantastic!  I can't say enough wonderful things about Randy Ward and Down Home Renovations.  My husband and I found him on Houzz, and after nearly a year-long search for an honest, fair, contractor that delivers quality and loves renovating - we had finally found our company.   When I spoke with Randy, I was clear about our budget, and, my "dream".  My "dream" was a smidge higher than we could afford, but Randy was open to talking about what was possible.  My husband and I weren't the kind of couple who had 20K extra for this project to go over....more like a few thousand at most.  I made that clear and Randy kept his word and stayed on budget.  Something that is priceless in the Nashville renovation boom for people who need to stay within budget.  We felt his pricing was fair.  Not the most expensive, not the cheapest.  Worth the investment. He helped us transform our main living space - removing a wall, building a 10 x 20 foot addition, moving a staircase, updating plumbing and electric and giving us the kitchen of our dreams.  And, a deck too off the kitchen.   We had to do some of the work ourselves to make this happen within our budget.  Things WE volunteered to do having no experience beforehand (like demoing, painting walls, laying hardwoods, and refinishing them), and he was always available to help if we had questions. His suggestions were spot on, including board and batten exterior for the addition and a gorgeous tin roof.  As an added bonus the quote included his company leveling and seeding the backyard - leaving an area they didn't renovate in better condition than when we started.  His crew are professional and delightful.....we lived in the house while the renovation was going on - adventurous yes....stressful, absolutely.  Randy helped make it possible by showing up regularly, being responsive and going above and beyond - one example was matching the trim in the new addition to the window trim in our 1930s home.   It is his commitment to customer satisfaction, eye for detail and expectation of excellence at a fair price, that makes Down Home renovations so great.  But more than that, he was easy to work with, talk through issues with (because there will be surprises, even when a project goes smoothly like ours did), and always made us feel confident that we were in good hands.  Considering the amount of work, it went really smoothly.  We consider him a friend now.  And we'll use him in the future.  I highly recommend Down Home Renovations. He is our only recommendation in fact!

I had a great experience with Randy and the rest of the team at Down Home Renovations. They remodeled my full bathroom, and were able customize the project for my specific needs rather than a blanket "full gut and remodel" which is what most other contractors tried to quote me for.

This was our first remodel and we were apprehensive to say the least. After having talked to several different contractors, it became apparent right away that Randy was the clear choice. He is the only one who was prompt and responsive. This remained true throughout the entire remodel process. The countless changes we threw at Randy were all received with a positive can-do attitude. First things first, I would like to once again, extend a warm thanks to Randy and his entire team. I’ve worked with many contractors over the years, and this has been, by far, the best experience. He and his entire hardworking crew are extremely professional and a delight to work with.

Randy and his team built a new garage, connected to the existing house via a small new addition featuring an entry room/mudroom and a new laundry room. Once completed, I also had them paint the entire house and new additions, as well as pour a new driveway and sidewalk.

My house is an older home located in an urban design overlay, which meant the new addition and garage needed to aesthetically compliment the existing structure. To add complexity to the project, my job required me to be out of the country for 3 weeks in the middle of the project. As the designer, in nearly every circumstance, this would’ve been completely nerve-racking. But thanks to Randy, and his team of professionals, my mind was at ease. Even though I was in Asia on the other side of the world, his communication (updates and photos) assured me that my project was in good hands.

His passion and drive is contagious, as witnessed through his trusted team of professionals. His attention to detail and high quality work and craftsmanship is evident in the final product. He was very organized and communicative through the entire process, from beginning to end.
