I was pleased with the roof replacement 3 1/2 years ago. However, I recently discovered that DMV installed a dryer vent cover which was not to code. It has created a hazardous condition. I have been calling for two days, but all calls go straight to voicemail. I don’t even know if that are in business.

We signed a contract and put down a $6k deposit for DMV roofing to install a new roof on my house on May 5th. In the contract notes, it says the roof will be installed on a date that is agreed upon by the homeowner (me). Over email, we agreed to the end of May, but DMV roofing never showed up or called. Over email, then we agreed to the second week of June, but again DMV roofing never showed up or called. Then over the phone, we agreed to July 6th, but again DMV roofing never showed up or called. Three times the contract has been broken with no proactive communication from DMV roofing. I've tried calling DMV roofing several days this week and get no answer. Now it says the phone is no longer accepting calls. I have email logs, phone logs, and the contract as evidence to support my statements.

Online reviews are supporting evidence to substantiate that DMV roofing was recently been in this situation with several other customers as well. I would be willing to negotiate this review with DMV Roofing if my money is returned because of the contract breach.

LIAR!
In April I had hired this company to fix drywall, paint and replace a roof. Signed a contract (May 1), gave them my insurance money (May 2) and was told first week in June. First week came and went I had to call them and then was told we've had so much rain he is behind ok understandable. ONE and a HALF MONTH'S (June 27) later I call and tell them my days off of work and was told they can do it Tuesday July 9. Got a call Monday July 8 (the NIGHT before at 830pm) and was told his distributors didn't deliver the shingles because of rain he will do the roof Wednesday July 10. Well 830am I call and no answer but amazingly as I am leaving a voicemail Bruce the owner calls me telling me he didn't get the delivery of the shingles yet and is hoping they will be here by 930am. I like a fool believed him again, I waited til 1230pm to call of course no answer and again while i'm getting ready to leave a VM Bruce calls me giving me yet another excuse and tells me out of his 20 clients 19 are happy and I was the only one complaining. So in the conversation he tells me it is supposed to rain July 11 so he won't get any deliveries of shingles and can't do any roofs which means Friday July 12 it can't be done either!
I have taken off of work three times not getting paid and I have only been there two months. I told him I have heard he had gotten some complaints recently and he told me the full name of a guy who is also disputing his lack of putting a roof on his house, Bruce said he won the claim, I contacted this guy via FB and guess what the guy who disputed the roofers paypal payment won the dispute and got credited a couple of days ago. LUCKY for me 95% of my communication with this company is via email, texts and voicemails that write out the VM message....
UPDATE! If you paid with PayPal dispute the transaction. It took 12 days but I won and got my $4000 back!

As a Realtor I am always on the lookout for great companies that can best serve my client and their needs. I needed a roof. Real simple here, as DMV Roofing was not the lowest or highest price. They came in about the middle. What was important was the workmanship. I was happy they did not try to load me with exception fees. The price I was quoted included all of the "Bells & Whistles" of add on's by other companies. Getting into the job we found things that aren't readily visible until a tear off is completed.

Without exception during the install, it was covered by the original quote. Every effort was taken to protect my plantings and newly remodeled deck. Having a Mansard Roof system, we had a lot of roof. DMV Roofing was very particular about making sure I received the proper installation and nailing for the Mansard sides. This represents a lot of additional work that other companies do not provide.

If you are looking for a company that slaps shingles on your roof, these guys are not your pick. They provide Superior Quality Workmanship at a very affordable price and they DO NOT CUT CORNERS.

The Owner, Bruce R. stands behind his work 100% and he exceeded my expectations for my replacement.

During the replacement we found issues on the window trim and we made the decision to "wrap" the windows with metal trim. This was accomplished at a very affordable price to have my windows in a 100% maintenance free state going forward.

Great prices and workmanship. A GREAT combination. Use with confidence!

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
