We contracted with Daniel Construction to have new windows, new doors, and new siding installed in our home. This review will be concerned with the windows and doors which have been installed. The siding will be installed later because of a conflict with travel plans we already had in place.

The windows and doors were installed in two days, 3/14 and 3/15. Danny, the crew supervisor, led a team of 4 other workers and they all did an outstanding job. They installed a total of 29 windows, mostly double-hung windows but also 5 picture windows, 1 casement window over the kitchen sink, and 4 sliders in the basement. The doors consisted of a main entry door (including 2 sidelites with "Waterfall" privacy glass), a carport/laundry room entry door stylistically matching the main entry door, and rear entry French doors.

I was quite surprised that the full installation (29 windows, 3 doors, caulking, and capping) was not only completed in 2 days but was done flawlessly. Danny's crew was very professional and personable. And Danny answered any questions that popped up during the course of the installation.

Jack Daniel, the business owner, made the whole process easy and transparent. The ProVia Endure windows and ProVia Heritage and Vantage doors are very high quality products. These products replaced the original windows and doors, including storm windows and doors. Once the installation was completed, we immediately noticed that there were no more drafts through windows and doors. While replacing windows, doors, and siding is an expensive project, Jack's presented us with a very competitive estimate. Jack's estimate was considerably less than half the estimate we received from a leading national home remodeling group. In fact, the cost for windows, doors, and siding was significantly less than the cost for just the siding from the national group.

We are very pleased with our new windows and doors and also with Daniel Construction. We are eager to see the results of the siding installation (near the end of April or later). 5-Stars sums things up pretty well.

Addendum 1: Jack arranged to install the siding after we returned from an overseas trip. The installation was going to start on Monday (5 May) but rain caused a 1-day delay. A 2-man crew arrived early on Tuesday (6 May) and began the work right away. I was very surprised to learn that this 2-man crew would do the entire installation, but they had no trouble completing the work despite multiple rain days. The quality of the installation was exceptional.

We chose to upgrade the CertainTeed CERT Aplank S7 Reinforced Vinyl Siding to Insulated Cedar Boards D6 Vinyl Siding (Flagstone color). The cost of the upgrade was relatively modest, about 20% of the CertainTeed siding. The installation also included custom covering of trim and soffits with PVC-coated aluminum trim coil (Snow Mist White color).

I purchased exterior lights from Home Depot for the front entrance, carport entrance, and rear entrance which were also included in the installation . Jack's electrician also repaired a damaged outdoor electrical outlet near the rear entrance (that's another story, unrelated to Daniel Construction).

Daniel Construction has presented us with a brand spanking new house! There's no doubt in my mind that Daniel Construction deserves a 5-star rating for their work and products they use.

I used Daniel Construction for railings. I interviewed companies for five years. Daniel hit the mark in many ways: 1)understood the ordinances and the best way to set up the railings; 2)stayed in budget; 3)excellent communications and workers. The price was high for me, and I'm happy with the result.
