It was a fortuitous day when I met Mr. Jose Campos at a local home improvement store. He was there to pick up an order of building materials, while I was there to complain to Customer Service about how their contractor had “ghosted” me not long after we’d met to review my options concerning a siding replacement project on my primary residence. Mr. Campos, overhearing my discussion with the store’s customer service representative, politely introduced himself, handed me his business card and said “call us…we can help you.” Not knowing anything about Mr. Campos, or Custom Homes and Renovations LLC, I was somewhat skeptical, but I thanked him for his card and we went our separate ways. (To the credit of the store’s customer service rep, she assured me that she knew Mr. Campos to be a very good contractor.)

The following week, after much contemplation, I decided to call the number on Mr. Campos’ business card. We agreed upon a day to meet, for him to visit my house, examine the scope and provide a no-cost estimate. He arrived on time for our appointment. After he inspected the existing cedar siding, we spent maybe an hour discussing my needs and expectations, which consisted mainly of a complete siding replacement with Hardie Plank (HP), my preferred siding material, based on its durability, low maintenance, fire resistance and pest deterrence, to include replacing the old Georgia Pacific backing with new plywood and wrap. Within a week of his visit, Mr. Campos provided a detailed proposal and cost estimate. My wife and I discussed the cost and decided to accept his proposal. Two weeks later, Mr. Campos had secured a building permit; another two weeks and Mr. Campos’ team commenced the project. I was amazed and gratified by his crew’s productivity, organization, skill and attention-to-detail. Throughout the project, Mr. Campos supervised his team with an expert’s eye, ensuring all my expectations would be satisfied - which they were!

Custom Homes and Renovations LLC completed the entire project in less than five weeks, including the additional requirement to demolish and fill in a derelict swimming pool and replace a section of gated fence. I couldn’t be more satisfied! My home looks beautiful and my wife is happy with our backyard again! After more than thirty years living in this home, I finally found a contractor with the expertise, means and ability to deliver quality, timely and cost-effective home remodeling solutions that meet my needs today and in the future. My only regret is that I hadn’t met Mr. Campos sooner and thereby avoided years of frustration, anxiety and sleepless nights.
