Crystal Exteriors LLC had done two major jobs for us, replacing entry doors and installing a new roof. Both projects were done quickly and without problems, at very competitive pricing. Recently, due to a water leak, I called Jason and he came out the next day to check the roof -- no problem there. He then looked around the house and found what was the source of the problem, a porous grout on an upstairs screened porch. Their service, including this five-years-after-the-installation inspection, is beyond compare.

Jason Lim and his team were incredible throughout the process of replacing our roof. Not only were they prompt in coming out to inspect our roof and coming back with an estimate, their estimate was by far and away the most detailed of the five roofers I contacted and was significantly lower in cost than all. Even after adding an upgraded shingle, the price was meaningfully lower than the next best quote, not to mention the others that were egregiously higher. Once the contract was signed, communication was responsive and pleasant. Materials were delivered to my driveway as communicated and work was completed the following day. The team was fast, kind, and exceptionally clean (I still haven't found a stray nail). The new roof looks great - they added a bunch of box vents to help with ventilation. I hope to never need another roof, but I know who I will call if I do.

Mr. Li was prompt and thorough in his communication throughout the process. Measurements are checked twice to ensure no issues. Installation was well within promised timeframe. Installation team was very professional and showed attention to detail. Very satisfied with the completed job and the price. The product from Provia (french entry doors in our case) appears to be high quality and the manufacturer offers numerous style and color options.

Crystal Exteriors replaced our siding and installed gutters and gutter guards. I had a great experience with them! The workmanship was high quality, I have no complaints at all. The cost was reasonable and they came in exactly on-budget. Communication was sometimes a bit delayed but the project itself was done in less than two full days. Crystal Exteriors replaced our siding on our 50+ year home 2 years ago. When we discovered a hole in our windowsill last week, other companies said they wouldn’t come out for this small of a job but Crystal Exteriors fit us in before heavy rains. I’ve been so impressed with their customer service, their quality is great and they’re so easy to work with.

Went with them because of the other high reviews and they didn’t disappoint. Even suggested black windows and gutters to go with the white siding. Outstanding quality and the lowest price for the same roofing system materials.

I got quotes from multiple roofers recommended by Washington Checkbook reviewers. I liked Edgar and Jason as soon as I met them. We had a problem area that existed from the time the house was built - we had areas where the gutters ALWAYS overflowed - whether they were clean or not, we had a waterfall off the roof in front and in back. We also had a previous leak from the cheap lowest-grade boots around our plumbing vents.

Crystal Exteriors was the first AND lowest price quote that we got! And the 4 roofers that quoted were all using the same materials. Same brand, same product - Crystal Exteriors was the lowest total price.

I wrote Jason and Edgar multiple questions and they responded right away, explaining everything that I needed to know. And their quote had easy to use links that went right to the manufacturers web site to show the purpose of each part of the roofing system.

By the way, modern roofs, with multi-decade warranties include special underlayment for the main part of the roof, for the ridges and for the edges. The roof ridge caps are specially built to withstand high winds and the plumbing vent booths are made of silicone - not cheap black rubber.

We're really happy with our roof, there were *no* cost surprises (they did replace a few sheets of plywood - but they had explained that possibility beforehand) and our gutters DO NOT overflow. Not one bit, not in the hardest rains.

One last thing. I saw a problem in the gutter installation. The right and left were reversed. I called Edgar. He returned the call immediately. I told him about the problem. He didn't "explain" that there's no choice or that I have to accept the change or that I didn't understand something or even that I failed to communicate my needs - which could have been true, I don't know?????

He listened to me, he apologized, he accepted the responsibility as his, contacted the installer and BOOM it was fixed. Done! I wasn't expecting that kind of customer-focused response from anyone.

Our new roof, in the photos, is Certainteed Landmark Pro Max Def Weathered Wood. The gutters were upgraded from standard 5 inch to 6 inches and have perforated metal covers.

We replaced our front door. We were very pleased with the entire experience. Mr. Li came to the house and met with us not long after I contacted the company. After the measurement were taken, we did not have to wait very long for the installation. Jamie and the crew did an excellent job of removing the old door and putting up the new door. The sidelites are beautiful and we love the way the sun reflects off the sidelites.

Came out quickly to give estimate for roof replacement. Had the best price to replace a slate roof with architectural shingles. Responded within a day to my questions for clarification of estimate and expansion of the project to include some gutter replacement and leaf-guards. Came within days of receiving deposit to do the work--roof took 1 day, gutters the next day. Very good job cleaning up. Gave pictures of roof when finished. Supervisors swung by several times to review on-going work. Verified with us some solutions to gutter replacement problems. Was very pleased with the quality of the work and the process--most communication was done via email which I liked.

I have no regrets. Crystal Exteriors just replaced our gable end siding, replaced our gutters and wrapped our fascia. It was a positive experience from beginning to end. Jason was a wonderful resource for us, outlining our options and giving us good advice. He gave us his opinions but he never pushed the most expensive options, and didn't question when we chose the less expensive. There was a significant delay before materials and a crew were available but his estimate of the wait time was dead on. The crews performing the work were efficient and professional. The work is well-done, everything was cleaned up at the end of each of the three work days. They took great care of the foundation plantings. At the end of the job our property was well cleaned. Communication was great. When, during construction, they found an issue that might increase the price of the work we were informed immediately, although in the end there was no additional charge. And they fixed a mistake made by a roofing contractor a couple of years ago.

I chose Crystal Exteriors to install a new custom ProVia exterior door. I received estimates from three different companies. Crystal Exteriors was not the lowest cost proposal but Mr Li’s professionalism, superior understanding of my needs and trustworthiness stood out over the other companies. I think the difference is that Mr Li is an owner with a detailed understanding of the business end to end while the other larger companies sent out salesmen. The entire process was efficient from the first onsite visit when Mr Li took detailed measurements and answered all my questions to the installation day when Ivan and two other installers arrived at my home. The installation process took four hours. Ivan’s team was professional, friendly, efficient and extremely respectful of my home. After the installation, the team cleaned the area inside and outside perfectly. It’s been one week since installation and I am 100% pleased with the look and operation of my new custom ProVia door.

We decided to replace our home's 25 year old roof before we actually had any substantial issues with it. We set out to get 4 quotes and I'm glad we did. Although Crystal Exteriors wasn't the very lowest of them(very close!), they used a step higher grade of shingle than the others quoted. Between that and hearing from some neighbors on our street how good their experience with Crystal Exteriors was, it made it an easy decision. All the employees I dealt with were super professional, knowledgeable and very nice. The experience was a very positive one and I would highly recommend Crystal Exteriors for your roofing needs(or probably any other service they provide). Crystal Exteriors replaced half our windows in 2006, and when we finally got around to doing the other half in 2020 we went right back to them! The pre-sale process is clear and straightforward, with no upselling or BS. The work they did in 2006 still looks great, and has remained entirely weatherproof. The recent work they did looks just as great, and the project manager was very attentive and professional in making sure we were satisfied. If we had any windows left to replace, we'd definitely use them again! And we recommend them strongly to others.

Jason's crew was very experienced, and handled the unforeseen issues without a problem when replacing our siding and gutters. Specifically, we had recently demolished an old deck that was improperly attached to the house siding. Jason's crew discovered, after removing the ledger board from the deck, that this poor initial deck construction had caused a lot of rot on the band board of our house. The crew was able to replace the band board without an issue and get everything straightened out nicely. The crew also found that the house had the wrong sized facia boards around the perimeter of the roof. All the wood was replaced. It was clear these guys weren't cutting corners and wanted to get the job done right. They were great about getting the details around the doors and windows as well. We loved the final product. Our house looks much better, and is much safer and water tight. Very satisfied with the work. This was a great first step in our exterior remodel and we will be calling Jason back soon when it comes time to replace our front door.

We enthusiastically recommend this hardworking team. To start, Edgar Li's and Jason Lim's attention to detail, clear and patient explanations and fair pricing impressed us. We got a quick response to our online request for a quote and Edgar was at the house within a week and at a time that was mutually convenient to give us a quote. He was thorough in explaining the quote, including the "forks in the road" that might lead to a more expensive total cost. The pricing (including the possible expansion in scope & cost) was completely transparent.

When it turned out that we had some rotten fascia and a flat roof that would need replacement, the team was diligent in sharing very clear photographs of the damage, as well as transparent that the flat roof repair we needed was not in their wheelhouse. They paused the work so that we could get the flat roof repaired and then resumed installation as soon as the other contractor had finished the work.

Good customer service is hard to find these days. Excellent customer service is rare. From the start Mr. Li was patient and listened intently to what we were looking for. Mr. Edgar Li of Crystal Exteriors is an exceptionally competent, organized and decent business manager who will provide excellent service and communications. My wife and I have used his company on two recent occasions, with complete satisfaction: installation of roof gutters, and windows and PVC siding for the entire bay window stack of our town home end unit. I wholeheartedly recommend Crystal Exteriors and will be back for other home improvements, as needed.

We contacted four exterior contractors earlier this year (June) and requested estimates for replacing our gutters, installing gutter guards, and replacing our siding. The job also included replacing soffits, vents, capping house trim as well as capping all windows and french doors. Of the four companies, we selected Crystal Exteriors for our project, and worked with Jason Lim, who along with Edgar Li are the owners at Crystal Exteriors. While their price wasn’t the lowest, we found it to be very reasonable. Perhaps what impressed us the most is their attention to detail to all our requirements and the very detailed proposal they put together for our projects. But that’s only the beginning.
As we came to learn, because of the current pandemic crisis, production lines are disrupted and materials are scarce. Jason gave us an estimate of six weeks on when they expected to get the materials.
One of the reasons why we needed gutters (other than being very old and dented from a number of tree limbs falling on them through the years), one of them had come off the roof board and was hanging down. An accident waiting to happen. Without charging additionally, Crystal Exteriors went above and beyond by coming by while we waited for materials and reattached and secured the hanging gutter back to the house until they could replace with new product.
In about five weeks, Jason called to let us know that they had secured the materials and were ready to start our job. This was an unexpected and welcome surprise.
The materials arrived on time a couple of days prior to start of the project. The workers and foreman arrived at the agreed date and time and were quick to get to work removing the old gutters and siding. Without missing a beat, they moved on to installation, and in a matter of a few days had completed our project. They crew were all very professional, cordial, and worked diligently. They cleaned up throughout the day and also at the end of each day. Their craftmanship was exemplary and Jason visited every day, provided oversight, and stopped by to chat with me on the progress and our satisfaction and to solicit our feedback. We also had shutters that were part of the project. Our shutters were an odd size and difficult to source. Jason drove a considerable distance to procure them and get them to our project in time for installation prior to wrapping up the project.
We are very satisfied with our experience with Jason, Edgar, and Jessica, and extremely happy to have had the crew of very skilled workers led by their foreman, Mr. Hong. We will not hesitate to contract with them again and will be the first call we make for any future needs.

We used Crystal Exteriors to replace an older wooden entry door in our home with a more up to date and higher quality fiberglass door as well as to replace locks on other existing doors in our home. We received a total of four quotes for this work, and Crystal Exteriors was very reasonably priced and we had a great comfort level with Edgar Li, who came to measure and discuss the project.

I must say, having done a ton of work on our home and having used no less than 10 contractors in the last five years with some good and some bad, we were blown away by the professionalism, efficiency and quality of work by this company. If I need any of the other services they offer going forward I won't be wasting time getting quotes, Edgar will be my first and only call! I was truly incredibly impressed and very happy with our choice to use Edgar and Crystal Exteriors.

We needed 15 windows on our house replaced that were either original to the house (50+ yrs old) or had a busted seals (15+ years). We had interviewed a half dozen window installation companies, all with good to excellent reviews, and what made Crystal Exteriors stand out by far is the owner, Edgar Li. He provided an honest, expert opinion; answered all of our questions - often answering them even in the middle of the night. At no point did he try upselling the windows and genuinely listened to our needs. I had iterated the window styles/options several times with him and he patiently provided updated quotes at every turn, even before we ever signed-up to working with Crystal Exteriors. The proposal was extremely competitively priced and what made the decision even easier, was that Edgar and his small, family-owned business appreciate the need to leave every single customer satisfied – something that is particularly important to a new customer such as ourselves. We are not disappointed with our decision – In fact, we LOVE our new windows and how they look both from inside and outside!

And that’s only half the story; Edgar’s worksite crew led by Jaime was efficient and finished the 15-windows replacement in under 2 days! They are unstoppable; they arrived around 8am and did not leave until 6pm and that’s in the middle of winter when the days are particularly short. They had all the windows installed in 1 day and needed only half a second to finish the outside. After the first day I was disappointed that several of the window frames had been damaged due to removal of the old frames. I also noted several windows were not plumb. I mentioned it to Jaime and he readily puttied the excessive wood damage and took the time to inspect the window/frame alignment with me. I worried he’d simply dismiss it as the walls/framing issue, but instead he took the time and walked around the house with me inspecting all the windows and explained that he aligns the windows with the exterior wall structure, as that’s where any misalignment shows most prominently due to contrasting colors. Indeed the exterior alignment and installation workmanship looked impeccable.

The following are a few items that did not matter to me a lot, because I often work on the house, but it might to you, so make sure to bring it up with Edgar/Jaime as I’ve learnt that they are very easy to work with and will work hard to accommodate your needs. The crew did try to keep the inside of the home clean and vacuumed at the end of the day, but I still needed to go behind them and clean the work areas; this included smudges on the walls near the windows, presumably from incidental contact with dirty pants/boots/hands - Nothing that the rough side of a wet sponge would not remove. As far as I could tell they did not use booties, but when you have to continually go in and out of the house constantly putting them on/off just makes it cumbersome and risks more damage to the house. There are a few items that window installers will typically ask the owners to do, so bring it up if you don’t feel comfortable doing any of these yourself:
- remove window treatments (Jaime and his team offered to do this free of charge),
- remove the furniture around the work area (Crystal Exteriors asks that you do this, but will do this for you in case of heavy items; I suspect they would help even with lighter items if you were to ask them, though it obviously distracts from their primary work, which is installing your windows!)
- paint interior frame after installation (In our case some of the new frames were not installed as deep as previous windows, so fresh areas of the wooden frame were left exposed; A trip to Sherwin-Williams and 2 coats of trim/door paint and all was good)

All in all – we had an excellent experience with Crystal Exteriors and look forward to our next project with them!

The appointment was made quickly and my sales rep, Mr. Li, showed up in a very timely fashion. He was professional, knowledgeable and informative. He was very considerate for my needs before giving me his recommendations. He thoroughly examined all windows to be replaced and took the measurements on the spot for his estimate. I received a very professional quotation on that same day with itemized details for all the windows. The proposal was easy to understand and the price was much more reasonable compared to others that I have received. I e-signed the quotation online with an agreed timeframe to start the job.

In a couple of weeks, the crew showed up on time on a weekend morning. They remeasured the windows to make sure that they have all the right new windows before they carefully removed the old windows. They work very diligently in a seemingly organized fashion so no time was wasted. They finished the job in the afternoon and showed me the results. The workmanship on the installation was wonderful. They also did a great job on the cleanup for both inside and outside of the house and hauling away the debris. We really appreciate their good work.

The sales rep came after a couple of days for a final walk-through before I made the payment. He offered some tips on cares of the new windows and made sure we had all our questions answered. We are pleased with our new windows very much.

Edgar and his team took great care to install a new storm door in our somewhat whopperjawed 80-year old door frame. The fit is perfect and for the first time ever, we have no draft under our front door. I heartily recommend them for their responsiveness, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Edgar and his team did a great job on our window and door replacement. Windows and doors are expensive, so be sure to get multiple quotes. However, also be sure to compare apples to apples; not all hardware is equal, nor are installers. Fast, conscientious and highly rated materials. If I ever need more windows or doors, I'll just go straight to Mr. Li.

Crystal Exteriors installed an all new gutter system for us, just before the heavy rains of the last two months. Mr. Li provided a detailed written scope of work at a competitive price, explained it all very clearly and his workers did exactly what he said they would. When I called to request a slight adjustment in a gutter joint, Mr. Li responded promptly and the adjustment was made perfectly. He even called back twice to check that all was well. The crew came yesterday and started the work of removing the shingles and putting on the new ones. They completed the job today.

I watched them work and can tell you first hand that no other roofing company can do the kind of work they did. They removed the shingles and the black sheet under it and some places where the wood was bad they took that out and put new plywood. They replaced the skylight, too. Everything is BRAND NEW!!

I could tell they were meticulous about doing the work. Even one of the owners, David, came 4 to 5 times to inspect the work. This company does not believe in doing mass production. They are a quality company with a very high quality crew that does high quality work.

That is the bottom line.

Everything is new on the roof. Even the flashing. Another roofing company that gave me an estimate said, they will change the flashing only if it needs to be changed! And I said, What? Can you repeat that? I did not give that other company a call. I chose Crystal Exteriors.

So, anyone reading this review should not waste their time looking anywhere.

We couldn't be more pleased with what Edgar and his crew did for us. Gone is our hideous original door and in it's place, a very good looking brand new door. We'd previously had a different door installed by Home Depot and I can't tell you how much better an installation job we got from Edgar. We'd use him again any time; prompt, fair priced, and locally owned.

Mr. Li was recommended to us by friends. We hired him to install a new Provia front door and side panels. Upon first meeting Mr. Li we knew that we were in good hands. We could not have been more impressed with his knowledge and level of expertise. He was very prompt in response to our many inquiries. This has been a disappointing experience. Despite corresponding with the owner, Edgar, for two weeks, the project was canceled on the day of measurements. Edgar claimed the location was too far for service. He was enroute and turned back once discovering the distance wasn’t worth him and his men coming out. What a waste of time.

Crystal Exteriors is a company with the perfect balance of being cost effective while using top quality materials and having the skills for great installation. They are also professional, easy to work with, and honest. They did our roof, gutters, windows and door.

Working with Crystal Exteriors has helped take some of the stress out of being a first time homeowner. We bought our first home this summer and ended up discovering that the previous homeowner took shortcuts wherever they possibly could, and they hired a terrible roofing contractor leaving us with a brand new roof full of leaks. We weren’t going to make the same mistakes he did, we were going to do this right- so we did our research and met with several different roofing companies, local and big-name, before meeting Edgar and deciding to go with Crystal Exteriors. We chose them based on their reputation, knowledge, and professionalism as well as the extremely reasonable estimate provided and warranty on the work and materials.

They did a total roof replacement, from the plywood on up. The job they did was meticulous, from the details like the flashing around the chimneys, to the cleanup of nails and debris at the end of the job. They completed the job in one day as promised, and David, the roofing supervisor with decades of experience, oversaw the job and met with me at the end of the day to make sure we were 100% happy.

We were so impressed with them that we hired them to redo our gutters/downspouts, and again, the estimate was the most reasonable and the materials used and workmanship was top notch. We also hired them to replace our old basement door with a steel security door, and replace our old basement windows as well. Their prices were much lower than other companies that provide the same exact brand and items (ProVia Legacy door and ProVia Endure windows). The installers were professional and did an excellent job.

I ended up recommending Crystal Exteriors to my mother and she got her gutters replaced by them. I found out later on that our realtor’s other clients in the same neighborhood had their roof done by them as well and were recommending them. Edgar and David are honest, reliable, and take pride in their work.

All of the exceedingly positive comments are true. Mr. Li squeezed us into his busy calendar and got working on: clean demolition and removal, then board and insulation, then Hardie siding with shingled gables that he recommended, plus new trim, then 6 great windows, then new gutters just in time for the summer downpour. We obtained a number of good bids but we concluded that Crystal was the best overall value in terms of size, attentive service, communication and advice, and price. Also, they do not up-sell, over-sell, and are very honest in warning us about potential problems. Amazingly, without asking, they were also the only ones who sent us to several nearby homes to inspect actual work. Mr. Li keeps a small, highly skilled, and long-serving team. I appreciate that, myself working in a small specialty business. We are already planning the next project with this excellent firm.

We had an excellent experience with Crystal Exteriors. Edgar Li, the president, was always available and checked on the work every day. His advice and suggestions were excellent. We were notified when each section of the job (siding, roofing, gutters, doors) would be started and completed. All the crews were very experienced, worked hard and tidied up when finished. There was not a moment's worry on our part. Edgar also did extras that were much appreciated (relocated backdoor light, added a porch outlet, changed the garage frame). He recommended and used the highest quality materials. The price was very reasonable, but the value was superior. Highly recommended.

First, the best professional advice (from Edgar Li) that we have encountered. He is a graduate engineer, very smart, very experienced, very dependable, always reachable, very quality conscious, very responsible for the quality of the work performed. Could not ask for more. The workers have been with him for years and we watched them in admiration. The work was performed sooner than anticipated. The quality of materials chosen was tops.

We were very glad to have "discovered" Crystal Exteriors. We were frustrated in finding an excellent contractor. We had had offers that ranged from one-half to twice as much as what we paid.
