The entire crew at Columbia Roofing, Inc. was amazing, as well as our new roof, gutters, gutter covers and shed roofs. The clean up was impeccable. We are complete happy.

Third time I've used CRI and cannot recommend them enough. First time, they did some work on the roof. Second time they fixed some loose aluminum siding and this time they installed new gutters on the whole house, downspouts in new locations, kick outs and splash guards. Each time they have done an amazing job and I will be doing business with them again (I already have the next projects picked out). For the gutter install, Joe came out and walked the property and gave me suggestions for the locations of new downspouts (the new drain pipes were installed by a local landscaping company). Melissa, in the office, was able to schedule the job quickly and Jose and his assistant were on site 45 minutes EARLY (this, by the way, has happened every time CRI has come to the house for a morning job). Jose gave me an estimate for how long the job would take and he finished ahead of schedule. He cleaned up everything and then walked the property with a giant magnet to pick up any loose screws (I still double checked the driveway and patio with my own giant magnet because I've punctured too many tires after running over the screw that got away...).

Overall, a very satisfied CRI customer.

I've called upon CRI to work on two projects so far on my fixer upper, and both times they have been phenomenal. First project was the addition of a roof vent for a kitchen range hood; the crew was professional and good at what they do, and the prices were fair. Second project was a major one; siding, front door, and gutter replacement. Billy gave us a competitive quote (we shopped around) and was excellent to work with. Roger and Jimmy installed a door sealed so well you could probably use it in a spacecraft. Joe and his crew were professionals, working multiple days to replace our siding and addressing any issues. They did work on my neighbor’s town home which is connected to mine. Understandably, at one point they had to use my front step to access her roof. However, they never rang my bell to communicate this information. They just set up on my front step, which I realized only after I attempted to leave my house through my front door. Later that same day while sitting in my living room I watched one of the roofers repeatedly walk across my landscaping. I did address both issues with the workers that day. Well they’re back again today…. When I was leaving the house I noticed they’d started to set up their equipment on my lawn. I addressed it with them before leaving. Professionalism and Courtesy is everything!!!

I got their name from a co-worker who was very happy with their work as well as several of his neighbors. Every time I had a question they had the correct answer. Very competitive in pricing.

A piece of the flashing around our chimney had lifted causing water damage on our ceiling.
We called Mike Sr. at Columbia Roofing, and he arranged for someone to come and take care of the issue. Mike had Melissa arrange the scheduling for the job. In addition to fixing the flashing, the guys did a full inspection of our roof, and did spot fixes for anything that could become a potential problem. They took a lot of pictures of the things they took care of, which we didn’t even know were possible problems.

Hired Columbia Roofing to install a skylight in a very dim stairwell of our Baltimore rowhome. Roger came out to inspect the space, tell us our possibilities, and give us an estimate. We went with an enormous 46’’ x 46’’ skylight, with solar-powered open/close. AMAZING RESULTS.

Roger led our custom project from start to finish, overseeing two other employees. Great attention to detail. His expertise was crucial in dealing with structural oddities of the 100+ year-old home. He even threw some extra roofing cement on our roof vents while he was up there. What a guy!

I had some leaks. Hired Columba Roofing. After signing the contract, I could not get a break in the weather. Although I understand acts of god, it took them MONTHS to start the work. Once it was all done, I had a few questions. I left several messages but they NEVER returned my call. Now, 1.3 years later, I have have a leak again...

Columbia reshingled the roof on our large condominium building. The job was sufficiently complicated that some roofers refused to bid it. Columbia did beautiful work and the work crew were delightful guests on our property. They were responsive to all of our requests and they were meticulous about cleaning up. So -- if you have a big job Columbia is the team to use.

Now we call Columbia for our small jobs too -- a small leak (in a different roof!), work on flashing around a chimney or a vent stack -- whatever. They are as professional and accommodating on small jobs as large ones.

I am the Owner of Columbia Builders Inc . Mike who owns Columbia Roofing came to us in 1979 and asked if he could do "a few" roofs for us. He had been working on a roofing crew for another subcontractor. We tried Mike out and the rest is history. He started by himself doing it correctly and professionally. Always came back and still does promptly on service calls (had very few once Mike started roofing for us). To date Mike et al have done over 2500 roofs for us. No one does our roofing except Columbia Roofing. There are none better that this firm.

From the time of your Sales Representative's visit right through completion of our roof and siding projects we could not have been more pleased with the professionalism and craftsmanship of your teams. I especially liked Billy Russell's recommendation to install a "cricket" on the high-side of our chimney; something that had never been done before by our home's previous owner. This modification will definitely help channel rain water away from our brick and block chimney. We have already referred a neighbor and a friend to CRI.

Great family run business. High quality work, but you must pay attention to the little details with them. They're also a bit slow to get the work started.

We had a good experience with Columbia Roofing and we definitely recommend them. It was nice to be able to get a single company to do the roof, some trim work, and re-caulk all of our windows and doors. They were easy to work with and responsive to a couple of issues that arose. We chose to have them use Certainteed Landmark Pro Shingle because we have had streaking issues with our previous shingles. We also specified Quad Caulk from OSI and Ultimate lifetime pipe flashing which was an upgrade but we felt was worth the extra money. Honestly, we got four companies to give us quotes before we decided to go with Columbia Roofing and I believe that we made the right choice. Here are a few additional tips on what to expect... Twenty years ago it was acceptable to vent bathroom vents to the ridge vent, but with the longer lasting shingles you don't want to do that so you will need to pay a little to have them vented through the roof. If you have an attic fan, it is recommended that it be removed as the ridge vents don't need that. Expect that your roof will need some of the sheets of plywood replaced (ours required 4) and that will cost additional $$$ as per the contract. Finding nails in the yard afterwards is just par for the course regardless of who does your roof...believe me, I spoke with a number of friends and they all had this issue regardless of who does the roof. They will lay tarps down to collect the nails and sweep with a magnet, but you will still find some nails. I borrowed a metal detector and magnet from friends and found quite a few additional nails...just par for the course.

Most honest roofing company and they do a great job. This is the second roof they've done for us, the last one was 25 years ago and you can't complain about a 25 year roof that lasts 25 years!

We had a very good experience. We were able to get a quote right away and the person who came out was very knowledgeable, and flexible with our needs. We had the roof, gutters and siding replace and it all looks great and we've had no issues. We even had a roof vent fan installed. The only thing that could improve some is the scheduling. But, they were very responsive and you can't control the weather. Overall it was a great experience.

I’ve written so many letter to you, asking you to fix the shingles because they flapped so much whenever the wind blows. However, you never even responded to my letter. Last November, you said that you would come and fix them when it gets warmer. Almost 6 months have passed and you just didn’t show up. If you’re still not coming to our house to have the shingles fixed, I’ll send a written complaint to the Consumer Association.

I was very pleased with the service, from the salesperson, communication from the office staff, and the actual roof work by the roofers who were hard-working, polite, and who did good work.

Our experience with their team was filled with dismally poor communication and inadequate management of our expectations.

I actually took the time to put together a detailed document highlighting the main points of frustration which I sent on to the owner. In a similar fashion to his team, he said he would review it and provide an in-depth response. It has been two weeks and I have heard nothing from him - not even to check in and assure me that the matter is still being investigated.

Columbia Roofing's inaction, and perhaps incompetence, led to the damage on my roof deteriorating to the point of causing a hole in my ceiling. After 41 emails and numerous phone calls - that were all directed straight to their voicemails, someone finally came to fix the roof and explained that they could have prevented this easily if there was better coordination on their team's side.

As of today, I am still waiting for the before/after pictures promised to me to see the work done. I am thoroughly unimpressed with their lack of professionalism.

EDIT AFTER SEEING RESPONSE: It looks like the person who responded to my review did not actually read what I wrote or look into my case at all. Sure CRI did respond sometimes to my email, but their responses lacked any substance and were often misleading or outright dishonest (I have written proof of them contradicting themselves).

Again, the issue was not the backlog of service. I have explained the actual problem multiple times but they continue to miss the point in their responses. This is a company that lacks integrity and any actual follow through. Work with them at your own risk.

This is definitely NOT the Columbia roofing that I dealt with to replace our roof 22 years ago. Back then they actually cared about their customers. Now lol it took five weeks to come to repair a roof leak and when they finally came they sent a SUPERVISOR who only looked and said yes you need repairs I noted them down and someone will get back to you!! Two problems when I spoke with Amy to confirm the appointment I asked if they would also be able to give us an estimate to replace the roof this gut said he knows nothing about it and only came to see what needs to be done. My wife called to complain and was told that they have the necessary info and would be sending the estimate that was two weeks ago and I have received neither an estimate on the repair or the estimate on a new roof. My wife called and left a message for the GM to call so she could speak with her, but alas no return call. 22 years ago I would swear by this company and had refereed many people but now I would definitely not recommend this company!

The companies response make this review sound as their errors are our fault, We specifically asked AMY if and when they came out to repair the roof if they would also be able to give us an estimate for a new one to which she replied sure he will take picture =s and have the info. As far as an estimate for repairs THAT WAS NEVER RECEIVED, so I can not say if it were actually sent but we did finally get the estimate for the new roof but only after the review was done. Looking for a new and reliable roofing company.

Excellent job. They had a different team for each part of the job. Workers were pleasant, competent and efficient. Clean-up was complete. Scheduling was a little loose, but it all worked out well. Highly recommend.

We've dealt with Columbia Roofers over the past 30 years here in Howard County. They have re-roofed two houses for us and done repairs and installed attic fans and skylights. Their work is outstanding, responsive, and reasonably priced. Mike, George, Amy, and Melissa are terrific.

Most roofers try to run you up on gutter repair/replace. They worked with me and reused some of the downspouts to keep the price in check. Also, the inspector identified the key problem being that the gutter was too small for the slope of my roof, causing it to weaken, bend, and in one area detach from the roof. They saved me $$$ and my front flower bed from a lot of future damage. Awesome customer service :")

Columbia Roofing is a highly reputable and ethical company if you ask people who have hired their services, which is what I did before contacting them. Billy came by, gave me an estimate, found him to be very knowledgeable and he doesn't over sell and will answer any questions you have, explain the various options, and leaves you alone to make a decision in your own time. The price quoted was very reasonable (I had 3 different estimates). During the actual work you have an experienced supervisor inspecting the work. The roof looks great and I keep looking at it every time I pull up in the driveway.

Columbia Roofing came though for us when we bought a Short Sale house that had a bad roof. They came out before bad weather set in and replaced the entire roof system in one day.

We had our whole roof redone and everything went great! They brought us samples of several of the shingle colors when we were unsure from the photos. We made our pick and then scheduled a time. Everything went just as planned! On delivery day, two men showed up with a big crane and put all of our shingles and things up on the roof. The next day, the crew showed up bright and early and got right to work. By the end of the day, we had a new roof! The next day, another crew showed up and re-did our gutters and downspouts. We had no problems at all. Everyone we dealt with--- via email, phone, and in person--- was professional and polite.

I guess there are some others who are generally competent out there, but I wouldn't trust someone else for slate work in 100 years. A lot of roofers try to talk you into "upgrading" to asphalt shingles, which is a mistake in most cases; better to have someone you can trust to maintain what you have.

I have been using Columbia Roofing for roofing projects in all the communities I manage as well as my own home for going on 7 years. They are professional, responsive and priced fair.
