We are in the process of buying our first home, so inspections we knew were important. But we didn't know why till Tracy took his time showing us and telling us all the things he was looking at and for that are really important. The CQI team was on time, professional and thorough. Donny walked us through each portion of the home, could help us distinguish what should be higher priority items, and was knowledgeable whenever we had questions. The report was easy to understand, well formatted, included pictures and the CQI team was available to answer questions when we needed clarification. There was one portion I felt should have been a higher priority and they validated my concerns and took the feedback. I appreciated their professionalism. Pest and radon tests were done well and reports were on time to give us plenty of time to consider our responses.

I had Donny Shoemaker come and inspect my first home. He was thorough, answered my questions respectfully and honestly, and was willing to brave ice and snow to crawl into the crawl space. In all, I felt he gave an honest inspection for a reasonable price, and the report was received in a timely manner. Would recommend!

CQI Home Inspections was recommended by a neighbor and it was a GREAT recommendation! CQI did a great job installing my radon remediation system and the system is working well. My radon levels were averaging just slightly higher than the 4 pCl/L level where action is suggested and dropped to averaging much less than 1 pCl/L as soon as the system was turned on! The cost was very reasonable, the system is tucked away in a closet around my sump pump, and the peace of mind knowing radon isn't an issue is comforting. I highly recommend contacting CQI to ensure radon isn't a problem in your house.

Can't say enough good about these guys. Donny did the structural and mechanical inspection for me today and Sterling did the plumbing side for a house I'm looking at purchasing. I have nothing but good things to say about CQI. Phil was great and very thorough while doing the inspection. He treated us with the utmost level of respect and went above and beyond to explain certain aspects of the home to us. Phil was also extremely efficient in sending out the inspection report, we received our report 1 hour after completing the inspection.

The men who did the work were very pleasant and industrious. The work went well and the area was clean when they finished. I even got good advice and they found a significant problem which will be taken care of next week. Our future maintenance and future repairs will definitely be done by CQI.

The way they send the report over could be a tiny bit better. It’s only cause I don’t have Adobe downloaded so I had to get the format changed to view it.

Donny was great and gave me information and tips that were very helpful as a first time homebuyer. He also had quality recommendations for other specialists who would be able to further verify any potential issues noted. 4 PM appointment for the home inspection and received the full written report by 8 AM the next morning. CQI was very helpful with getting my older home Lead Paint Inspected. They walked me through the EPA processes and then scheduled the inspection and performed the testing when scheduled with no hiccups. Once complete they finalized the paperwork required by the State of MD lead paint registry. I was able to work flawlessly with CQI from another state. I would recommend them to everyone.

Our scheduled inspection was cancelled/rescheduled one hour before the appointment. Our realtor was already on her way from 1.5 hours away. The ladies on the phone weren’t helpful or understanding at all.

We were able to reschedule with Donny for the same day, just later in the afternoon. He did great and did a proper inspection. Explained everything he found to us and sent the report quickly.

Only negative was that he did not go on the roof and only inspected it with binoculars, even though we asked CQI before booking to make sure someone would go up on the roof.

Overall the experience was OK, but I would not choose this company for future inspections due to the customer service experience.

The inspector showed up early and was professional and knowledgeable. The report included lots of photos and was ready quickly.
However, the home inspection was not very thorough. The gas to the house was shut off at the outdoor valve, and the inspector would not turn on the gas to test the range or furnace, even though the homeowner gave us permission to do so, so I still don’t know if those very expensive systems even work.
Several of the lights in the house did not work and the inspector just wrote them up as not functioning. Turns out it was just the bulbs, which I swapped out and tested myself in minutes.
The hot water heater breaker was off when we arrived, and the inspector wrote up that the water did not reach 120F because we didn’t wait long enough. It actually works fine and reaches temperature.
The house had obvious water damage and mold. The inspection report noted a possible water leak and possible “organic material”. Apparently they can’t say mold and don’t test for it. It was written up in such a way that it was too vague to use for negotiations.
For $500, I expected a much more thorough inspection. This is just a superficial look at obvious things and I feel like I wasted my money.

This is the second time I have used CQI. The first was a home purchase full inspection. It was through and professional as was this latest septic only inspection. Sterling briefed me on what would be done and performed a detailed inspection while keeping me appraised of his findings. My concerns were addressed with follow up from the owner of CQI.

I Live in the Maryland suberbs and I am on a septic tank system. The builder put in a two compartmented 2000 gallon tank but with only one access pipe. For a tank that size the requirement was an access pipe for each tank. I contacted CQI and forwarded them a copy of the tank system provided to me from the county health department. They came out and dug up exposing the system to inspect the tank, drain it and provide an update for two access lids in accordance with the specifications. It was a two man team Paul Harry, team leader, and assisted by Anthony Copenhauer. They did a great job. The work was thorough and completed within 4 hours. They did a complete inspection of the system to verify its condition and also had the tanks drained. They made certain that the land around the two lids and where they dug out the tank compartments were restored and ground level. Paul Harry was very helpful and provided all of the details of what they were going to do and kept me aprised as they completed each phase. When complete Harry showed me both external and internal pictures of the system and gave me helpful hints on septic tank maintenance and future services. I was provided a written report with photographs the next day. Excellent and highly professional service. I highly recommend CQI!

Great company to deal with- were very quick to respond to setting an appt, online payment was easy as we getting the reports within 24hrs after the inspection (closer to 10 hours actually!)
