All I will say is thay are professional on selling themselves to get the job.but not professional on the work thay sub.out jobs because they don't have skilled employees to do work.the 3rd party thay used said alot but couldn't produce.i let copper state go due to there lack of professionalism. Before I hired .told them I had to go back in hospital for a 3rd major surgery and I needed my bathroom to be done. Because I had to have it.Thay said we can make it work don't worry. 3rd party worked 4hrs left mess .had to cleanup myself. The cream on the top is the insurance gave them there money. And I had to finish job.with my own money. Beware

Avoid Copper State Home Builders at All Costs

This company is the definition of predatory and dishonest. They showed up for a 10-minute thermal imaging scan of my bathroom after a minor toilet leak (already fixed by a plumber), then set up a basic dehumidifier and HEPA fan for 48 hours — that’s it.

Yet, they had the audacity to send me an invoice for over $1,600, stuffed with outrageous and fabricated charges like “after-hours labor,” “fuel surcharge,” and inflated overhead. No actual work was done. No materials used. No repairs made. Just hot air — literally and figuratively.

They also pressured us into replacing our bathroom floor, based on nothing but that quick scan, which we thankfully declined. It was clearly a scare tactic.

Looking at other reviews, it’s obvious this company has a pattern of scamming unsuspecting homeowners, especially during stressful situations like leaks or water damage. Don’t fall for it.

If you’re considering them for restoration work: Run.

BIG SCAM – BEWARE

We were charged **$2,000** for a single dehumidifier that was used for **less than 2 days**. Initially, they tried to bill us for 5 days and only corrected it to 2 after **multiple follow-up calls**. The invoice included **absurd charges** like an “emergency fee” even though the appointment was scheduled in advance, and an “after-hours equipment monitoring” fee despite the technician being on-site for **less than 30 minutes**.

There was **no transparency**—we received **no prior notice or explanation** of these charges. Every attempt to get clarity resulted in being passed around with no resolution. To make matters worse, what started as a **small bathroom drip** turned into the technician aggressively pushing to **replace the entire flooring**.

*DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.* The experience was frustrating, misleading, and felt like a complete rip-off.

Be cautious with this company, as it has ties to some of the plumbing companies.

I initially contacted 'Custom plumbing' to fix a small water leak in my kitchen sink pipe, but they tried to scare me by claiming that the repair would require removing the entire sink and tearing up the floor.

Shortly after, they brought in Cooper State which persuaded me to keep a dehumidifier and dryer at my place. However, I later hired another plumber who fixed the leak for just $70.

The worst part came later when copper state sent me a $3,300 invoice for simply leaving their drying equipment at my home. When I refused to pay, They then started threatening to place a lien on my property.

When I checked Google reviews, I found that many others had reported similar experiences with both companies.

This company is total scammers do not use them if I could give zero stars I would. We called a plumber to fix a shower leak and he called his buddy and that’s when this company got involved. They came out and insisted on my mother who has cancer file an insurance claim. They said they would deal with the insurance. They left machines and one wasn’t even plugged in and left them there for 5 days and now charging her over 2000 dollars for having their machines there and one wasn’t even plugged in the entire time. Do not use this company they are all scammers

I had a great experience with the mitigation crew at Copper State Builders! They were very quick and clean taping and papering everything off so they wouldn’t leave so much as a foot print in my house. When the sub contractor came out to finish the bathroom remodel and I was less than happy with my bathroom remodel the owner Clint called me personally and sent his best craftsman to finish the job. I appreciate them making sure the job was done right and owning the mistakes of their former GM.

I wouldn't hire this company based on two days ago this van was driving too aggressive. The van has the company name all over it, I'm assuming for branding. Well, this branding is working the opposite way I'm sure it was intended. The decision making ability of the service person that was driving this van which caused me to slam on brakes as I would have hit them on 101. I see on the reviews, same thing happened 3 weeks ago and another picture of a company van posted with a review. Funny they have these vans on their website header image...is that as a warning to look out for their vans in traffic? We all want to get home safely. Please caution your drivers of the company vans to be considerate of others.

Copper State home Builders presented to our home on 7/21 after my water heater gave caused a leak in garage. Water damage was limited to the wooden/sheetrock water heater stand but a plumber suggested I make sure nothing seeped into my walls. Cactus was called my the plumber. I was provided recommendations to start an insurance claim and signing contract without receiving estimated cost of services. They left equipment to help dry out the water. Intention was for them to return the next day to start working.

I then had a second opinion performed by another company who confirmed that water did not soak into my walls. This company came into my home for the consultation then emailed an estimated cost of services sheet and contract so I had both to review if I wanted to proceed. I called Copper at around 9am to 7/22 to inform them that we would not be proceeding and to pick up equipment. I am agreeable to pay for the cost of 3 fans and a dehumidifier that was at my home since 6pm on 7/21 until around 4 pm on 7/22.

My total cost to demo the water stand, replace with a metal water stand (done ourselves), and replace drywall and paint (hired someone else) was $400. On early October I received a bill of about 2k from Copper State Home Builders. The equipment cost was only $300 with other charges detailing 2 hours of equipment set up fee, equipment decontamination fee, etc. They are charging an emergency visit fee of close to 300 and another approx 170 for thermal imaging even though, as illustrated on website, their consultation is free.

Overall, I believe that Copper State Home Builders is creating overzealous charges due to us not wanting to proceed with their services. I believe that there is an ethical standard by contractors that was not upheld during our experience. I also encourage everyone to thoroughly read the contract before signing so you can see that it illustrates 18% interest charges, waiver of cancellation policy, etc.

Positive: The work - Everything went smoothly with the mitigation. Haven’t started on the restoration.
Negative: The communication/common sense. The people seem both pushy and demanding - threatening until you push back. They also don’t seem aware that 10minutes notice is not reasonable for a house visit in the middle of a weekday afternoon. I have a job. It’s a very flexible schedule but a day notice should be a minimum.

My experience with Copper is one I will always remember for good reason. Ben Davis the Mitigation Specialist was not only awesome, but personable, knowledgeable, kind and full of compassion and care. He truly helped me through this process.

I was referred to Copper State by my roofer. Tim Hill was my primary contact and he took exceptional care of my family and I. He got out to our property promptly, moisture tested, marked, and got all of the fans and dehumidifiers set up. He regularly checked on my family, our house, and with our adjuster. He even offered to feed and give our dogs water when I would drop them off in the backyard during the day. I would recommend Tim and Copper State without hesitation to anyone. Do not use this company. They are crooks. They will file fraudulent liens against your property.

Edit: I just successfully won a lawsuit against this company for wrongly filing a lien against my property.

2nd edit: I just successfully won on appeal against them. The court found that they knowingly filed a lien that they shouldn’t have. Please do not use them and if you have get yourself a lawyer ASAP.

Had a window/roof leak that damage two floors of my house. Tim Hill came out, handed all the insurance logistics and got it all taken care of.

If you read the reviews and use this company you deserve everything you get. Stay away, they have no loyalty to customers. They will lie and not fulfill. They will make promises and then give the same canned “I am so sorry, I will check in hat went wrong.” Bullshit excuse. If I could give negative stars I would. Sadly this company doesn’t care what a customer thinks.

Master rooter sent in copper to my house due to a kitchen sink leak and bathroom flooding. Master did nothing to aid the problem, put tape over holes. Rooter then tells me “we need to get copper in here now like now this is an urgent Demo”. Copper arrives, breaks apart my cabinet and vanity, broke the vanity. Left with nothing actually done to my house to medigate the issue. Tyler of copper then wanted me to file an insurance claim right away, to replace my entire housing floor and the kitchen sink cabinets counter tops everything from the bathroom to the kitchen which was not needed. Entire time both parties are inside the home joking cracking on about marijuana use and paraphernalia. One of the workers from copper was inside my home smoking marijuana with a quick hit dabbing device. Left around midnight after toking up inside my home. Insurance only covered 2000 of what could’ve been a 14,000 plus hack job. Then they’d have to schedule a new builder to come by and allow me to “pick out” what I wanted from a catalog and then schedule that which would made it months on end without a functioning dish washer, bathroom. Tyler informed me my house would be “packed out” for “demo” (buzz word), in an “air tight facility”,, and they would have MY insurance find an air B&B to live in momentarily??!? Take my belongings and move me out of my home??! Nope!! They brought in a dry out machine that burnt my electrical out at 9pm and was not resorted until midnight. Copper came for their dry out scam machines, I was told verbatim that these machines do nothing it’s just for insurance when an adjuster comes by to show they at least did something before Making the insurance claim. All bad news here folks I would never allow these guys into my home if it wasn’t for master rooter working hand in hand on this scam. Since this review they are now pursuing options to further extort money and prey upon people. Insanity. They did zero work only came in like marauders broke everything, stole cabinet after breaking vanity to make entire house inoperable nor livable. Not even a stand in temporary sink, no working dishwasher or kitchen sink. Insanity.

He will promise the world and couldn't deliver a pebble. No ability to plan or manage a project. You ask him a close ended question. He will respond with irrelevant information. Have you ever heard a politician answer a question? This is what you expect from Gene Faulkinbury. He can't tell you yes or no. He will just give you information that you don't ask for. Then when you insist on him being direct, he will just ignore the question all together. Gene Faulkinbury is the WORST!

If you want to be over promised and under deliver, call Gene Faulkinbury with Copper State, he us your guy. He will tell you what you want to hear and then act like he didn't say it.

He will make plans and not follow through. Can't say enough bad things about this company and Gene Faulkinbury!!

Dyllan Clark came and did a thorough inspection walked me through the whole process and filed the claim through insurance with me and handled everything for me from that point forward . customer service was amazing.

Dyllan Clark did a excellent job, he helped me a lot and explained everything to me and was patient while explaining everything to me because I can be complicated at times but he clarified everything and was super nice!

It was a little anticipatory on this review; just found out it's a bit too early to tell. As with any type of construction, there can sometimes be unanticipated hiccup(s) or 'brief' delays... so stay tuned. The proof, going forward, will be in how the company handles it, but so far no complaints, thankfully.

I ended up flooding our house on accident. We had Copper State homebuilders come out. They’re very very quick with their response time and having a cleanup crew come out. I really appreciate Khalif for going over everything with us in detail and helping us file our claim, I would definitely recommend them for water damage and mold.

For having my house flood and being a disaster I can say I am happy that I chose to call Copper State. Ben the first person to call and make contact with me was at my home within 20 mins and got right in the processes. He was awesome and very knowledgeable. Not only was he great but the work crew brought in was outstanding as well. He delegated tasks well to people best suited for the job at the proper timing according to task priority level and made sure everything was done to prevent any further damage. Every time I called with a question he answered right away with care and urgency! Ben and Copper State made this what should have been a nightmare into a pretty easy going situation. Scammers! They didn’t do any work on my home but sent me a bill. I called them for a QUOTE on removing mold.. they come over and do not give me a quote..the whole reason they were called. Instead the guy insist on us letting him speak with our insurance because he can get them to cover it. Even though we told him we have already tried and they said no. He insisted that he is an expert and does it all the time so we sign a paper allowing him to speak on our behalf to our insurance. Still never receiving a quote or hiring this company. Then when the insurance denies the new claim this company sends us a BILL for $3,000. 3,000!? For what!? We still have the mold.. $3,000 because they thought they would get an easy overpriced check from our insurance! They have done NOTHING for us but constantly HARASS us with calls and emails. This company is shameful and preys on low income families.

I appreciate Tim hills, hard work and effort on helping me in my family. Get back to our pre lost conditions. Thank you so much for your hard work.

I can't say enough about how helpful CopperState has been throughout the whole process. I woke up to water all over my kitchen floor and CopperState was on sight a lot quicker than I expected. Ben was my Mitigation Specialist and he helped me file my claim with my Homeowners Insurance as well as explain the whole process to me. Had a leak issue and within 45 Minutes of notification Tim Hill was on site. A week before Thanksgiving, I discovered a leak under the kitchen sink. I got a plumber out to fix the leak. He recommended Copper State and arranged for them to come out immediately on a Sunday. They stepped up right away and started the mitigation process that afternoon. They also assisted me in filing the claim with the insurance. I was impressed with everyone that worked on the job of water damage mitigation and reconstruction of half of my kitchen. It was a difficult time for me, and I was completely ignorant of what the process would be. However, when I saw how they responded to the issues that arose, I was confident that they would get the job done. I now have my kitchen back and couldn't be happier!

Can't beat the response and overall treatment I was provided by Khalif and his team regarding a water mitigation situation. He was there immediately on Christmas Eve to get things going, and made the entire process for dealing with a bathroom leak as painless as is possible. I highly recommend him and Copper State Home Builders.

We had a situation Where halfway through our kitchen restoration items from the kitchen, were stolen by employees. in order to purchase new items We had to go directly through Home Depot. Copper totals in writing that they would reimburse us for those expenses, because the items were stolen by their employee. However, after we made the payment, they blocked myself and my mother from being able to make calls directly to the office. They sent us an invoice stating that we still owe them money and nowhere on that invoice reflected the money that we paid directly to Home Depot only the money that was paid to them directly from the insurance company obviously for legal reasons they can’t negate that the insurance company payed them. They claimed that they sent a check out to us, but a check was never received, and they have no check issue date no other form of tracing this check. The whole office environment that has no common courtesy for people. No respect for their home or the money that they are spending. Please do your research Before allowing people into your home, because they have no problem leaving negative energy behind.
