We contracted Dan to complete our kitchen remodel and he was the perfect person for this job. We encountered multiple, complex challenges throughout the project and Dan had the necessary skills and tools, and a creative problem solving mindset to navigate them. At each stage of the project, he was great about communicating different options and helping us find what would work best given our space, needs, and budget. He was flexible, creative, detail oriented, and had a good eye for design as well. We would hire him again!
Dan was referred to me by a friend for a demolition/replacement building project last fall. He came to look at it and was eager to make it happen. Although I didn’t have a drop-dead timeline, I was working with a relatively finite budget.
Dan was upfront regarding material cost fluctuations, potential obstacles, etc. but planned/quoted materials and labor accordingly. He had the plans drawn, got any required sub-contractors on board, and the work began a few weeks before winter.
Throughout the project, Dan was always communicative, responsive, and polite. He was mindful of the budget, and tried to be creative in his efforts not to exceed it. Every single person who was on my property, whether Dan’s crew or sub-contractors who were selected by Dan, were friendly, polite, professional, and respectful, which is important; I appreciate people who know how to act.
We ran into a handful of unforeseen obstacles and plenty of disruptive weather/temperatures which extended the timeline and the budget. Dan tried to help determine what worked best for me in each scenario and rolled with the punches.
Throughout the project, there were days where I expected more to have been done, and although it was frustrating at times given the unforeseen obstacles, the weather, and slow progress, these guys were great to deal with. Although I wasn't able to complete the project with Dan due to budget constraints, I’m much closer to having what I want than I was last fall.
