John was professional and communicated clearly right beginning with his bid, going through every step in the process. He knows the materials well and was able to answer every question I had and many I didn't think of. He effectively managed expectations on timeline and provided detailed photos and updates while the work was in progress. The price was reasonable when and substantially less than one of the bids I received. And finally, I feel that the quality of his work is excellent and would not hesitate to recommend Columbia Roofing for a roof and gutters replacement. Worked with John of Columbia Roofing in trying to get our insurance company to cover wind damage to the roof. John worked tirelessly to help us out; everything from inspecting the roof to taking pictures & measurements, to trying to reason with an adjuster who had obviously predetermined that he was not going to approve this claim. Roof was hit by a hail storm and stripped a lot of the asphalt from the tiles. Our roof was nearing the end of its life, but we thought we'd see if insurance (Farmers) would be able to cover the excess dammage. After getting several estimates and surveys from others we ended up using Colombia roofing. Luckily for us , John, one of the project managers for Colombia roofing has experience in this field, and was able to survey the roof and found enough dammage for the claim to be covered by our insurance. John was extremely communicative and helped with every step of the process to guide us along the way, from estimates, survey, insurance claims, materials options, scheduling, costs, payments, etc. Once we got the funds, we scheduled out about 2 weeks. Tear down and Construction was speedy! With a crew of 6-7 They were able to complete our project in about 8 hours - same day, cleaned up the property and hauled away the old tiles.

Perfect experience. The whole experience was quick and very easy. John had great communication and everything went exactly as he said it would. Hands down the best experience we could have asked for. John was optimistic, helpful, and courteous from the very beginning. He answered all my questions and didn't try to upsell us on unnecessary upgrades like other roofing companies have done. He was honest and upfront about rising supply costs, and the roofing bid still came in under what my husband and I expected. The whole process was so much smoother and faster than we expected. From beginning to end the whole process only took about 2.5 weeks. The removal and installation of the roof happened in one day. A problem arose during installation and some additional repairs needed done with an HVAC company, but John handled all the communication and dealings with them. No additional worry or stress on our part. We 100% recommend him to everyone who needs a new roof.

They were a pleasure to work with, professional, and worked quite well with my Homeowners Insurance Company. In one and a half days I had a new roof. It took longer for my acc to approve the color than it did for installation. I would use this company again.

John checked out my roof that needed replaced due to wind damage. He kept me informed of the process at every step. He was always on time, got the roof done when he said it would be. The roof looks great and the workers made sure everything was cleaned up after.

John (owner of company) stopped by to offer to inspect the roof of my home due to recent wind storms in the valley and found there to be damage that I was not aware of. He walked me through the insurance submission process and was onsite when the insurance adjuster inspected. He was able to answer any questions I had and was always available and kept me up to date on the process. He provided a very in-depth process document so I knew exactly what was going to happen. His team showed up bright and early to do a full tear off (2 layers), re-shingle and were done, yard cleaned up and gone by late afternoon. They worked with the insurance company directly to finalize the estimate and payout so I did not have to hassle with any of it! Texted pictures mid way through the build showing the progress and the areas that were receiving ice/water barrier protection. We went from a dated looking brown roof to a modern dark gray that makes me happy to see every time I pull in the drive way. Super impressed with the whole process and John's excellent customer service throughout that process.

It was the best decision to hire Columbia Roofing!

John walked us through the process of roof replacement without all the usual BS that the salespeople try to push on you. He was knowledgeable and very to the point. He inspected our roof, identified the wind damage, assisted with calling the insurance, then showed up to talk to the adjuster, and finally worked with the insurance to get the claim finalized. We literally did not need to lift a finger. Once that was done, we scheduled the date for the replacement. All along the way we communicated very efficiently through texts.

The crew managed to install the roof in under six hours, including the removal of the old roof and cleanup. The final product looks fantastic. I went to work in the morning, and came back to a new roof and beautifully cleaned yards, as if the crew was never there. I recommend John and Columbia Roofing without hesitation!

John at Columbia Roofing was awesome! He was in our neighborhood on another job and noticed that we had some roof damage due to a wind storm that cam through Boise this spring. He approached me and offered a "Free" roof inspection and I agreed. He showed me pictures of the damage and discussed the possibility of submitting a claim to my insurance and getting the entire roof replaced. We have lived in the house since 1995 and had never done any work on the roof. We started the process that day and submitted the claim over the phone together.

They were great to work with and they handled everything from inspection, submitting the claim to our insurance and complete stripping and installation of the new roof on our house.

The complete job only took a single day and the installation crew cleaned up so well that you could not even tell that they stripped the roof.

John was incredible to work with. His goal was to make the process of getting a new roof as seamless as possible for me. He did all the work, contacting insurance, meeting the adjuster, I didn’t have to try and explain or justify anything, he, as the expert, took care of it all! His follow up and cleanliness and respect for our landscaping etc enduring installation was impressive. When they left that night there was not a nail to be found! John Zacher made this a stress-free and smooth project, from dealing with the insurance company to install and clean up. I’d use them again and recommend to all. I should add, a few years ago another contractor was not as skilled in navigating the insurance world. John knows this profession and handled expertly.

John, founder of Columbia Roofing, was referred to me by my daughter. From the moment John stepped into our home through today when he did his final inspection, John has proved to be professional, dependable, knowledgeable, helpful and a very kind person. He helped to guide us through the process, took care of all aspects of the process. The crew he had doing the build were incredible as well. They completed your house in a day, the shop in about a half of a day. They were careful to cover any exposed area overnight and were diligent with clean-up as well. Everything John said he would do, he did and he did it when he said he would. The shingles could not be delivered on the roof due to the weight of the truck and the condition of out driveway. John had the company load the shingles onto the ground (which I know was so much more work for them) and he didn’t waver, he just adjusted to plan B and kept working. It did not seem to phase him.
I cannot say enough good about John and his company. We are pleased beyond words and would be happy to recommend him to any of our friends and family.
