Columbia Basin Exteriors - Idaho Falls, ID

I am VERY disappointed about my gutters. My gutters that I had, before Columbia Basin Exterior replaced them, lasted for 20 years with NO finish coming off. With the new gutters that Columbia Basin Exteriors installed, they spray painted over white downspouts in November. The paint is coming off of them and they are turning white. Absolutely an unacceptable job. Can't get anyone to respond to the problem. Can't even catch anyone in their little office that they have. Nobody is ever there when I go there. Have to wonder if anyone actually works there anymore. Also have a downspout that was never designed correctly and nobody will respond to fixing it even though the gutter guy said he would be back to fix it. Highly recommend you not pay your bill off until everything is completed to your satisfaction. Otherwise, you will never hear back from them. Hope I don't have to make this a Better Business Bureau issue.

I've gone from pretty satisfied (though still a four stars at best) to feeling 1 star may not be low enough. They're great at quoting and setting home owners with hail damage at ease. Communication was great and follow through awesome when the roof portion of the project was done. Then, we found a beer bottle in our backyard as the crew was still wrapping up the project. The project manager was quick to come get after the roofers and gave us a discount. (Incidentally, I found two beer bottle caps in my attic last week while checking something else out.)

Siding was a mess to get done. Rather than following up, the project lead assumed it was done. It took another couole months to get it done. Then, the same story with the rain gutters. Now, I'm feeling extreme frustration and neglect over the poor work with the rain gutters which leaked at the first rainfall months ago. Sure caulk may not hold, but the empty promise of fixing it if it does fail is what's been frustrating. My front porch is a hazard because the poor workmanship with the gutters and the reinstall of heat cables on my roof. Constant drip of water turning into ice whenever snow melts off the roof.

I went above the project lead, being told a manager would take care of this. Still nothing after about a month.

Did a good job on our roof replacement, left debris and roofing nails all over the yard and driveway. Went without shingles on the house for a week because the new shingles weren't on site when they took the old off. Other minor damage that was in the original report is still not repaired. We called and they told us all repairs are completed, which aren't. Now they want the rest of the payment. Very unprofessional and rude at times. Would not recommend them in the future.

Update: I have been in regular communication with Branson and Hunter in regards to the matters noted in my previous reviews. The repairs have still not been made, and apparently there is some miscommunication or misunderstanding between involved parties. Hunter stopped out yesterday and went over everything, and has brought out the replacement rain gutter. Branson had informed me that he would get me a $100 gift card for the issues, Hunter had stated he was going to bring the gift card with him. Hunter did bring a gift card but only for 25$. The fact that your employees disrespected our property and trashed our yard of which we had to clean up after them is not resolved by a 25$ credit. Hunter asked me to update / remove my review as their online image is important to them. If that's the case, then maybe I should receive what was offered?

Update: woke up this morning to a bag of trash scattered across our yard and a pitchfork nearby, can guarantee based on examination that this was not an animal or nature. Our yard was left with debris all over the place. Trim was damaged and not repaired or replaced, rain gutter was damaged and not repaired or replaced, solarpowered guide light was removed and not replaced. I sure hope the roof work was better quality than the respect for our property. Very dissapointed with this. You should probably teach your crew some respect. Will not recommend this company!

So far not impressed with these people doing the roof on our house, very messy and no respect for our property Coffee cups, water bottles, pop cans, and other trash scattered throughout ourour y. Prior to them being here there was no trash on our property and now it looks awful. I will update this review when the project is completed, but if they don't restore our property to the condition it was before they came there won't be any change. Cleanliness is part of the quality of work, and our yard is not your garbage can!

Hunter has been great! He went out of his way to bring samples for my wife to see and was patient with our slow decision making. Roof looks awesome, can’t wait to see the fence gate and siding up next.

Working with Branson Balthrop from Columbia Basin Exteriors made the process of repairing our house from hail damage move along smoothly. The only problem we had was with subcontractors showing up announced; however, even they were nice and willing to work with us on times. They cleaned up after themselves and it looks like they did a great job.

I am really impressed with the service and quality we received. Hunter was great with answering all our questions and making sure we understood what was going on. The guys working on our roof were quick and very good about making sure everything was cleaned up when they were done. Highly recommend CBX to anyone that needs a new roof.

The work was professionally done and in a timely manner. Branson helped calm my anxiety and assured me he would take care of everything, which he did. I would definitely recommend this company in good times or in times of disaster.

I had the best customer service from all of the people at CBX from Hunter in sales to the roofers and the owners. They upgraded the vents because the old ones were the wrong type for a metal roof. They are easy to contact when I had questions and took the time to explain to me. Very happy with CBX.

Kaipo and his crew worked fast and did a great job!!! He replaced my roof and my Dad's roof and we were both very pleased with their work!!

My new roof was done efficiently and well in just one day, just as my contractor Hunter said it would be. The crew came as scheduled and worked well together and were very pleasant. I've been working with Branson Balthrop to help get my roof replaced for the past few months. It has been a long drawn out process but overall I am very pleased with the work this company has done for us. They were very thorough in giving me all the details of how things work up front and not making me feel like I dont really know what's going on. They were very quick to respond and did their best to make sure I was happy with everything! They came in and got the job done quickly and then even cleaned up the mess afterwards!!! I have no complaints. I would highly recommend this company!

I was very impressed with Columbia Basin Exteriors. Their crew arrived at 6:00 am and they were done with the roof by noon, which says great things about their work ethic. They were meticulously clean throughout the entire process, and were obviously well-trained. The roof was stripped and re-shingled properly.
There was great communication throughout and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

Caulin responded well to my calls and had good communication with me during the roofing process that was done long distance with a rental property I own after a hail storm. My issues with Columbia Basin Exteriors were that they did not install the roof color I requested in our contract even though it was in writing, and none of the invoices were itemized. I understand contractors are busy; especially after a storm- its a feeding frenzy for roofers... The roof seems to be installed correctly, so I have to tip my hat to them for that. I just hate the color I'm now stuck with for the next 30+ years.

Branson Balthrop was super professional throughout my entire roofing process. This company couldn't have done a better job at what they do. I would refer to anyone and everyone.

They did an OK job on the roof, with some coaxing from me to have 10 guys there like they said they would and get it done in one day, but after that they fell apart. I waited and waited and never heard from them . Finally I started calling them and finally had someone come out to finish the job, the gutters and siding. the guy said he'd be there Thursday, didn't show or call, nor did he the next day. He was a no show five different times after telling me he'd be there early in the morning, and never showed. No one in the office was there to answer the phone so nothing ever got done. Nothing bot stalling and stalling and nothing ever gets done. Really a poor company with no follow up or good communication. Would never hire them again, too many lies and no shows and nothing gets complete, very poor company that doesn't give a dam. Never again. STAY AWAY!

Branson Balthrop is very thorough and cares about the jobs he does. This company does great work and I highly recommend them.

I called and asked for a bid on my siding. When the guy arrived he said he didn't do siding, he did roofs. I told him i specifically told the lady that answered the phone it was just siding that was ruined in the hail storm. The worker told me he would have the siding guy contact me and as of today....nothing. Very unprofessional.

They have been awesome to work with. Hunter has been so helpful! They were able to get out to look at my roof very quick and schedule me in just as fast! They are very knowledgeable and helped me with all the littler things!
