Once the work was started it went quickly. Communication is not good and you end up dealing with about 4 people both on the phone and via email. I was told they are changing the company name to NOVA ROOFING COMPANY and that is how they billed my card but so far that company doesn't exist that I can find. The contract was with Cole Roofing. I used this company before quite a few years ago and it was night and day under the new ownership. I had a complete roof replacement and so far so good. They just need to communicate a lot more and I think by telephone. Emails don't seem to have much priority.

Our experience has been great. Sergio and his team did some gutter related repairs to my house. They had to come when everything is dry. The first time time not all issue was resolved. They came again and fixed the issue. Great professionals to work with.

Our experience having our roof replaced by Cole Roof Systems was a nightmare: after emailing with a question about our quote on 9/5, I was told to call Linda. I left a VM and received no reply. On 9/30 I emailed Linda to follow up and she finally answered my question. On 10/4 I sent our signed contract and asked them to contact us to schedule the work. After no response, I reached out again on 10/12 to say we needed to schedule ASAP to work around our busy Fall. On 10/13 Linda copied us on an email to Sergio directing him to read our email and call to schedule the work. Ivan then replied to say that Sergio would be in the office the next day and would send out the schedule then…Copying clients on emails that should be internal is not a good look. No one called or emailed again until 10/18 when Harold emailed to say our work had been scheduled for 11/7. I responded that date would not work for us. On 10/21 I called Sergio to try to find a new date but his VM was full. I texted to ask him to call me but he never replied. On 10/24 Harold asked ME if we had scheduled the work with Sergio yet…I said no. He then replied all asking Sergio to schedule us…He did not. On 10/25 we received an email telling us our work had been scheduled for 11/14. I responded and AGAIN said those dates would not work for us. I asked for someone—anyone—to please call me to discuss dates with me before scheduling anything again. On 10/28 we finally scheduled our work for 11/21 and paid our deposit. Then on 11/14 a crew showed up to begin work! My husband called Linda to say they had shown up a week early and needed to come back on the 21st. Linda’s response was that we didn’t have to be there while they were doing the work. He politely insisted they come back on the day we had worked so hard to schedule. Linda told him to call Sergio to “reschedule.” He insisted SHE call Sergio. Linda said she was just trying to cut out the middle man before finally calling Sergio herself. The actual work proceeded quickly the next week and concluded by midday on 11/23. We were told then that Sergio would send us the final bill and photos of the work that had been done right away. On 12/6, after receiving no communication, I emailed to ask for our final bill and photos. No reply. I followed up again on 12/20. Linda then replied all instructing Sergio to send the photos and Harold to send the bill. The invoice was finally sent on 12/27. Linda demanded immediate payment, but we were out of town visiting family for the holidays and very busy. We did send a quick response to ask again for photos of the work. Photos were sent on 12/28. Payment was again demanded immediately but we were traveling all day and unable to accommodate. On 12/29 Linda left a VM at 11:29AM when we were unavailable telling us to call to provide payment that day. She said nothing about charging our card. We then received a email receipt at 11:32AM saying that the card we had used for our deposit had been charged the remaining balance for our roof! This balance had come unexpectedly in the middle of the holidays with $960 in additional charges a full 5 weeks after we had been told to expect it. We hadn’t even had an opportunity to look again at our finances immediately following Christmas to figure out if we wanted to write a check or use a different card. We also had NOT authorized them to save our card information from the first payment. We called and spoke with Harold. He was very nice and apologized for the miscommunication. He said they would make this right for us. Linda then called and proceeded to argue with us. She saw nothing wrong with what she had done, and she refused to refund the charge unless we immediately gave her different payment information. We had to chase them down to hold up their end of the bargain at every turn for 3 painstaking months, and then when they finally got around to sending us our final bill, it became OUR fire drill to immediately respond to in the middle of a busy holiday week. To say this company is unprofessional would be an understatement!!

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
