Our experience with this company was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Communication throughout the entire process was poor. My husband tried contacting Brandon, the estimator, multiple times via phone and messages, but he never responded or called back.

At one point, we called the main business line. The woman who answered told me the estimator was “currently on the phone.” That was especially interesting, considering he had yet to return any of our calls or messages — clearly made to that very same phone.

To make matters worse, they required us to sign a commitment to use their services before even providing an estimate. That is completely unreasonable. No one should be expected to agree to work with a company without first knowing the cost — it’s like asking someone to commit to a mechanic without knowing how much the repair will be. It just doesn't make sense.

Between the lack of basic communication and the unfair policies, we can not recommend this service.

The communication throughout the process was extremely poor. I tried calling the estimator multiple times, but he wouldn’t answer or return any of my messages. On top of that, they required me to sign a commitment to use their services before even providing an estimate, which is unreasonable. I can't recommend them based on this experience

We just completed a first floor renovation with Coastal Contracting and couldn’t be happier with the result. Coastal helped us knock down a couple of walls (including a load bearing wall) and gave us the kitchen of our dreams. We had an amazing team and an extremely dedicated project manager who made sure that every question was answered and every situation was addressed. Our cabinet and countertop designers were amazing and so incredibly helpful. This was not our first project with Kwan and Coastal (they also replaced our roof and nearly every window in our house) and it won’t be the last. We highly recommend Coastal and look forward to a bathroom renovation with them in the near future.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
