CTC just finished my home addition and bathroom remodel. We had a couple special order items we couldn’t decide on that delayed the project and CTC had a very collaborative “can do attitude” the whole way through the project. We were happy to have their guidance through the duration of our project! Highly recommend.

We have worked with CTC for 3 years now, specifically Mike Thorn. Their team starting with Mike, down to the project managers, superintendents, and construction crews are responsive, thorough, and a pleasure to work with. This is a family owned business that will get the job done right. Recommend this company for any residential remodels, new construction, commercial TI's or commercial new builds.

If you are looking to do some remodeling and don’t mind constant delays and excuses then this is the company for you. We signed a contract to remodel our kitchen and dining room in August 2021 with the understanding that work would not begin until all the materials were available and ready to be installed. We were given start dates in November and then changed to December due to the cupboards not being ready. Despite my questions about continuing holdups on the cupboards I was assured they would be done on time. Needless to say, they were not and when finally cabinet boxes were put up on February 7 they had been, among other problems, measured wrong and filler pieces were used to cover the gaps. The cabinets had no doors. They were being manufactured by a separate company located in Idaho whereas the cabinets were made locally. After missing several deadlines for the doors to be available, and problems with the cabinet boxes , CTC decided to start all over with another cabinet company. The original company, Legacy, that I was assured at the beginning was reliable and they had used many times has since gone out of business. Finally, 14 months later in June another company was hired and now in October 2022 they have been installed and our project has completed after 14 long months.
Along the way there were other delays usually lasting a few days or a week for things that could’ve been taken care of right away. No thought was given to the inconvenience to us of living in a dusty disorganized construction project longer than was necessary. Some examples:
The electrical rough in was done and we were told that the drywall could not be done until the electrical inspection. We waited and waited for the electrical inspection and finally the drywall was done without it at which point we were told inspection wasn’t necessary.
Only upper cabinets were to be replaced after removal of dropped ceiling with existing lower cabinets remaining. With dry wall and ceiling done, we asked to have the flooring installed while the cabinets were “delayed”. We were told that it wasn’t possible because cabinets were “never” installed before flooring. After another delay of week or more with they decided it was okay to put in flooring after all.
When the installer showed up to put in the baseboard, they discovered that it had been measured wrong and was short
Due to a large turnover of management and supervisory positions, there is a lack of continuity and communication. We began with a project manager and a project supervisor and by the end those positions had been filled by seven different people. At least one had scant experience in the building trades were given little training or mentoring to succeed. And with each new person promises were made that they would get things moving. And as if it were a consolation, we were told we weren’t the only people having problems and more than one person changed jobs in the company or quit from the stress of dealing with angry customers. Subcontractors we’re not given much oversight. Rarely did anyone show up to make sure that the job was being done to our satisfaction, but at least they did show up if there was a complaint. It would seem that CTC takes on more projects than they can handle and overload their managers and supervisors. Many times was told by a supervisor that they couldn’t come by because they had 7 or 8 other jobs needing attention.

I called to try to get an estimate as my husband and I are looking to build a house. I told the woman that we were looking to build as inexpensive as possible, but still have quality. She responded to me that they were not for me as they only do high quality, as though I was a poor church mouse and not worth her time!!

CTC converted the master bathroom shower to zero clearance. I was nervous about the project and has already turned down a separate contractor because they made me feel uneasy about how it would get done. CTC impressed me from the beginning with confidence and professionalism. They didn’t let me down. The project went perfect and everything turned out just the way they said. It was even done early. I will definitely use them again for the next project.

I met Walt recently, at an impromptu stop for re-fueling. He was kind and greeted me very well. It was a very nice gesture and I just want to thank him for that. If everyone at the company is like that, I will be very happy to establish work with them.

CTC came and installed LVP flooring throughout my entire house. I knew that it was a very large job and I was very confident that they would be able to handle it, My expectations were exceeded with the outcome! The staff at CTC are extremely friendly and easy to work with. Thank You Cliff Thorn Construction for everything that you do and for my beautiful floors!

I hired CTC to handle my kitchen remodel and 2 bathroom vanities. Our estimator was really awesome and answered all of our questions. I wish he would have been our point of contact the whole time. When it came to scheduling, we had about 5 days heads up. The communication between the project manager and us was sub par. Multiple discrepancies and miscommunication points throughout the process. At one point, he mentioned to me that CTC had underbid the project and that the company was not going to make money on our job. (As if that was my problem). Extremely unprofessional, and poor service from him. The front desk folks and office people were great to work with.

The project at my home was done with great care. The timeline was followed and every step was explained. Everyone that I was in contact with treated me well. Professional team!

Had them over for a walkthrough to receive an estimate for a renovation. Wastold I would receive a detailed estimate via email in 1-2 weeks. It's been 6 weeks and I have received nothing. I haven't contacted them with regards to this issue because I'm not going to beg a company to take money. On to the next one. They got 1 star for the fast walkthrough appointment and another for the friendly contractor who provided the walkthrough. Was a fun hour wasted by all

If we could give them a rating of 6 stars we would! Over the past 5 years we have had Cliff Thorn Const. do 3 major remodels in our home, our living room, kitchen and laundry/bathroom. Every job was done perfectly! They were timely in the work and did an excellent job with minimal inconvenience to us. The living room was our first project. After about 3 years we noticed our carpet had some bumps in it. We called Cliff and they immediately came out to assess the problem determining it needed to be restretched. Within 1 week they had someone come out, at no charge, and restretch the carpet. The gentleman that did the work asked us if we realized how rare that was after that amount of time to have the construction company stand behind their work and not charge us. Thank you Cliff and all of your staff.

A very nice representative of the company came to our house and discussed what work we needed to have done and a contract was written up with a set price. When the worker came out to do the work it was decided to scale back the work and do a patch job on our roof instead of the work agreed upon by us. Even though we were inside the residents and could have been consulted they took it upon their selves to change what was being done, did not discuss a change in cost or give us any chance to decide if we wanted them to continue with the work. This was basically a bait and switch. Contracting to do set work and then basically a patch job and calling it good. When I contacted the front office they tried to make it sound like they were just trying to save us money even though they never brought up a reduction of charges until we refused to pay the full amount. I would not recommend this company to anyone. We are not able to undo the work that they had done without costing us a great deal more money.

They took great care of my home for the repairs needed. No project too small. Very happy with the results.

CTC does great work, and is available quickly. They are also very generous to our community and helpful to local non profits. Thank you, CTC.

I had a problem with the clear coat finish peeling on the exposed beams at my residence. I called CTC for help. Not only did they refinish the beams in a timely manner, they went back to the original clear coat manufacturer and asked for an inspection. The manufacturer determined that the wrong product was used originally and that they would cover the cost of the new product at NO charge. On top of that, CTC came up with an affordable solution to protect the top of the beams into the future. That's what I call exceptional service!

CTC did a great job with a recent roof repair at my home. Job was done quickly and jobsite was completely clean, once the work was done.

You have the gall to air commercials that show ADEQUATE looking pictures of the same apartment complex where you took great pleasure in rendering our home uninhabitable for 3 months, while we were still living in it, then continuing to harass us and retaliate against us because we dared to expect the same thing any sane human being would want when paying someone for a place to live. Habitability, peace.

Do you have any pictures available to make a commercial out of the heavy industrial tarps you had nailed down over at least 3/4 of the building, from the roof all the way to the 1st floor, where we lived, at Americana Apartments in Pasco aka Affinity Property Management, rendering our home uninhabitable? I have pictures and documentation of it all. I haven't forgotten that you need to be held accountable in a court of law for your part in the mental and physical anguish my daughter and I endured during our residency at Americana Apartments in Pasco and even now.

I had to call Troy Hendrin after your crews little "April Fools Joke" on April 2nd, 2018. It's amazing how fast those tarps came up, the very next day. Yet my daughter and I were subjected to inhumane, uninhabitable conditions for at least 3 months simply because your crew was lazy, incompetent, negligent, reckless and downright evil.

If you're searching for a reputable construction company, look else where. Shortly after people found out what was going on at Americana Apartments and the construction company responsible for the inhumane violations, I was told more than once that CTC is known for it's below board work and the only reason they get so many jobs is because they are usually the lowest bidder.

You're better off paying a few extra dollars for a real construction company that can actually adhere to the standards of basic housing codes, professionalism and basic human decency.

If you're the resident/renter of a property management company that is as awful as the one I was renting from and that company has made the error of hiring a company just as awful as they are, CTC Construction, and CTC Construction in any way violates your rights, be sure to handle it right away. Also hold the property management company accountable if they don't hold up to their part of your contract/lease which is to provide you with a habitable place to live or conduct business if it's for commercial use.

Take them to small claims court with all of the picture/video proof and documentation you have and sue them for the maximum. Attorneys aren't allowed in small claims court so CTC Construction and other violating parties won't be able to hide behind theirs. They will stand before the judge unable to professionally articulate their lies, as attorneys are known to do, and on the other side there you will be with all of your documentation and the truth.

CTC Construction, Americana Apartments/Affinity Property Management, and the like, I'm well aware of what the statute of limitations is in Washington state. The statute of limitations won't pass without each and every responsible party being served with a lawsuit much larger than small claims. For those such as Abby Solis at Americana Apartments, that includes class B felony charges for committing perjury during the show cause hearing.

Keep the commercials coming CTC Construction, they're a great reminder that I still have unfinished legal business with you and your friends at Americana Apartments/Affinity Property Management.

***This is the original review posted one year ago*** Terrible company. No remorse for the pain and suffering they caused me and my daughter due to their willful negligence. Had tarps nailed over our windows for three months which is a major housing code violation. I asked multiple times for the tarps to be pulled up and they refused to comply until I called the building inspector. See you in court.

Cliff Thorn's crew were exceptional. We were impressed with their professionalism and speed. They did trim work around all our floors and doors and had beautiful suggestions. It dressed up our house a lot and saved us so much time and effort to use their services. We will definitely use them again for future home remodeling.

Very poor work..they installed new windows..but water was leaking through..the top apartment was leaking from the roof..so my ceiling was leaking though on to my rug..it happened at the other units..some of the workers had poor attitude about it all..they dont clean up their mess after a day of work..very unprofessional service..

Mom had a flood in her basement... CTC construction came to the rescue. Cliff and his team did a fantastic job and delighted one tough customer, my mom. Thank you for helping my mom and doing a great job on the repair and remodel. The basement is now mom's favorite room in the house.

The entire CTC team is a pleasure to work with and their work stands out because of their genuine care for the customer and craftsmanship put into the projects they work on. Would recommend them any day!
