Clearwater took care of a small bathroom remodel for us. Of the 3 bids we got, they had the best customer service by FAR and the lowest price by about $20,000. Both of the owners were regularly on the job site which is not something we are used to seeing when hiring out for contracting work. They did a phenomenal job with the project, and their employees were incredibly respectful when they came to work. They took the time to check on the location of our cats and dogs daily to make sure they didn’t get out of the house or into the construction area. A+ people and an A+ company!!
I’ve worked with Clearwater Home Services on a lot of projects over the years, and I can honestly say they’re one of the few companies that always does things the right way—no shortcuts, no shady business. They pay their trades fairly (better than most, to be honest), and they always put the homeowner first—even when it cuts into their own bottom line. I’ve seen it firsthand on nearly every job we’ve done together. If you’re looking for a contractor that actually cares and backs it up with action, this is the one.
Clearwater Home Services – June 2025
As someone with years of experience in property maintenance and construction management, I’ve handled dozens of contractor bids. I’ve never encountered a process as unprofessional or as disconnected from scope as I did with Clearwater.
I approached them with a fully prepped remodel project: full fence replacement, deck rebuild, kitchen and bath renovations, a laundry room overhaul, and a custom staircase. I provided a PRINTED SCOPE BINDER with photos, exclusions, sequencing, and clear deliverables. They took site photos and committed to a quote by June 4.
Then they disappeared.
No quote. No updates. No itemization, even after direct follow-ups. Only after I raised concerns did they respond, delivering a $158,000+ estimate that was over $50,000 above the actual scoped work.
The home was already 70% remodeled. I had completed smart infrastructure, lighting, and sourced most of the materials. Their quote treated it as if nothing had been done.
Key issues:
– Included full shower rebuilds I never asked for
– Quoted $25,000 for a laundry room under 50 sq ft with no layout changes
– Added work I had explicitly excluded
– Never provided an itemized breakdown
– Never once asked for my budget
And worse: the pricing swings were wild.
Deck (fixed-scope): $21,500 – $29,500
Kitchen: $27,700 – $38,000
Master Bath: $21,000 – $28,500
Laundry Room: $18,400 – $25,000
Secondary Baths: $16,000 – $23,000
These weren’t flexible ranges. They were vague placeholders used to protect assumptions that were never validated by the actual spec.
This wasn’t a simple misfire, it was a quote padded with unnecessary work, built on boilerplate, and delivered late with zero process accountability.
If you’re considering Clearwater, ask if they’ll read your scope, stay within reason, or quote based on your actual design. In my case, none of that happened.
