3e Insulation

I was blown away by the level of detail and outstanding above and beyond customer service 3e provided from start to finish. I generally always go with at least two opinions/quotes before making a decision on which company to use for most projects. The first insulation company I had out spent 5 mins in the attic and came back down saying they could top off the insulation, no other recommendations or findings. Craig with 3e was the second company I had come out to inspect my attic, and his initial inspection of the space was beyond what I could have imagined. He was up in the attic for a good 20 minutes, and once he came down he thoroughly walked me through all his findings (which one of his findings was that insulation level in my attic looked great and he would not recommend a top off) and provided me with a recommended step by step plan for the issues he found/confirmed in my attic. He even went back up in the attic to reattach bath fan hoses that had fallen off (one of his findings during the initial inspection). Even when I was at various stages of the attic project I was dealing with, Craig would check in and ask how the roofers/remediation company were coming along. Even at the end of the project after he was done, he spent extra time with me providing a thorough outline of all the areas he worked on and covered, provided next steps for me such as add a temperature senor in the attic to monitor how well the vents are working wne humidity levels are. Also, Criag was so meticulous in his work quality that he fixed cosmetic issues outside of his normal routine (a vent fan in the laundry that was not flush with the ceiling).

It’s hard to find good work these days let alone people who care about doing the job right and treating it as if it were their own home and project. I couldn’t recommend 3e and Criag enough. I wish I could find other contractors with his level of customer service, passion for his work, and meticulous level of detail in his craft.

3e Insulation was recommended by the Duke Power energy auditor who told us we needed 4” of attic insulation. I was cold all winter and was dreading a long, hot summer. Craig Cox took us from a R15 to a R52. Current code is R38! He also sealed all the ducts, fans and junction boxes. I have a lot of peace of mind knowing he has made this as house energy efficient as possible. He also submitted the forms for a Duke energy rebate and explained the Ferderal Energy tax credit.

Craig and his team were great to work with. Craig was honest and professional throughout the entire process. They went above and beyond to make our attic more accessible and were quick and thorough when blowing in the insulation.

Craig is very professional and manages his team well. They were able to straighten out previous rolls of insulation that had been pulled up during a reno plus add more blown insulation so my house feels warmer. In addition, a ceiling light was moved and Craig returned and fixed it after the work had been completed several days later. I don't always get that kind of return service once a job has been finished and payment made. I would recommend them for insulation needs to friends.

I don't often write reviews and that should speak to the quality of work Craig and his crew at 3e do. I hired Craig to add additional insulation to my 1971 ranch with a low pitch roof. Not only did Craig do a thorough job insulating and air sealing the attic but he even fixed a few things that other contractors had ignored. Craig charges fair and competivie prices for his work but what really sets him apart was the real value he provided. He took extra steps like adding additional pieces of batt insulation over snap in flush mount lights to prevent insulation from raining down in the future. He air sealed hard to reach spots that others would have ignored. Craig really cared about my home and my needs and not just his bottom line.

We had the attic of our 1964 home insulated by Craig and his team at 3e Insulation. Prior to their work, our attic was poorly insulated and our electric bill was through the roof.

Craig was a pleasure to work with throughout the project and was able to quickly complete all the prerequisite tasks before blowing in the fiberglass insulation, including venting our bathroom fans outside of the house and cleaning up some old trash and ductwork that was sitting unused in the attic.

The whole project took about 8 hours, split over 3 days due to the hot summer temps in the attic.

Craig went above and beyond to ensure all the work was done safely and correctly and even completed some work that wasn’t included in the initial estimate. He gave a ton of practical recommendations and suggestions and was never pushy about anything. There were no surprises and he was great at keeping us updated along the way. He is also extremely knowledgeable about energy-related tax credits and rebates and will ensure you are getting back all the money you’re eligible for. The attic now looks brand new and we’re looking forward to realizing the increased efficiency and energy savings.

I called 3e for a quote on getting additional insulation installed. They responded promptly, came and looked at the house. I had a quote the next day and the job was completed a few weeks later. I'm very impressed with the service and integrity of 3e insulation. Greg's quote was expeditious. He went beyond the scope of work by not only insulating this old house and sealing the vents but also inspecting the attic for deficiencies. Craig Coxe is one of the most knowledgeable contractors we have worked with. He took the time to explain why we were having trouble maintaining a comfortable temperature in our home and how his insulation services would address that problem. We called him again recently to help with a family member's insulation needs in an unusual roof configuration. He again diagnosed the problem in detail and explained why the solution could best be found using a technique that his company does not provide. OK, let me just start out by saying if your house is hot in the summer and/or cold in the winter and you’ve been wondering if updating your insulation would help, save yourself some aggravation and just call Craig of 3E Insulation. (Trust me there’s a reason for all the 5-star reviews.) Our upstairs bedrooms fell into that category so we contacted Duke Energy to get a recommended contractor to blow in some more insulation. Craig was the only one who not only showed up when he said but actually climbed around the attic to figure out what was going on. Afterwards we sat out back while he cooled down and he started formulating a plan (you could see the wheels turning). We had a pretty complex attic area and it was going to take a combination of ventilation, sealing and insulation to accomplish what we wanted. Our priority was #1 comfort and #2 energy savings. We had a written proposal the next day that we felt was very reasonable so we had him put us on his schedule. Craig showed up when he said and went far above and beyond to make sure things were done right. He and Wes were a true pleasure to work with. I never thought I’d say this but “Thanks Duke for introducing us”. Now that the job is done we couldn’t be happier. Even with the hot 90’s we had last week our upstairs bedrooms maintained a comfort we had never seen before and our a/c barely kicked on. In addition to all of this he even filed the Duke Energy Rebate for us. We are very happy customers and highly recommend Craig and 3E Insulation.

Craig and Wes just finished up our air sealing & insulation project. They insulated about 2,000 SF of attic, blowing insulation over what little insulation we had.
Overall, Craig was extremely personable and easy to work with....and very responsive. He initially came out and walked the attic with me, pointing out issues regarding air leakage and explained how they would install the baffles and the insulation options.
His quote was straight forward and the work was quickly scheduled. It took them about 5-6 hours total to complete the job...they did exactly what was promised....and cleaned up everything before they left.

Craig Cox and his crew are true professionals. Craig reinsulated our attic last Fall and did a thorough job of sealing any air gaps and adding a lot insulation. They also rewrapped two skylight tunnels.
The result has been a significant energy savings during a cold January 2022. Craig also got us a $250 rebate from Duke Energy. The investment in reinsulating the attic has been well worth the reasonable cost Craig charged. I highly recommend 3e Insulation and Craig Cox.

Craig and his team were prompt, responsive, and professional throughout the entire process of adding cellulose insulation to our attic. They also cleaned up very well, which was important considering how messy a job it can be! We have been very impressed by Craig's passion for his work as well as his commitment to detail. He communicates throughout the process and does not disappear once the work itself is complete. The high quality work he did insulating our attic has already saved us money! Between the sunshine of the day and the insulation keeping the house warm at night, our HVAC didn't run for a week. Craig, of 3E Insulation, was the only person who came out to give me an estimate who actually went into the attic and found the cause of a specific problem my house had. He told me how he would resolve it and informed me that my entire house was woefully under insulated.
He came on time to do the job and completed it within the time he had estimated.
Craig and his assistant took care to keep the dust to a minimum and left everything as clean as he found it. Now my home stays warmer in cold weather and cooler in hot weather.

I was hesitant in using angie’s list because I didn’t want to be bombarded with calls, but within an hour of posting, 3e called me and broke down pricing and work involved. After talking with them that Friday, they came out the next Monday on time. Within a few hours, my attic was air sealed and insulated. They were kind, respectable, and very professional. After just a few days, the difference is incomprehensible. We’re using half the air conditioners and it is an ice box! I would highly recommend them to anyone!
