BEWARE.
My wife and myself were planning on building our dream home in Sanford. Unfortunately that never happened.

After we selected out floor plan and selections it was time to give Lawrence our builder deposit. Once that happened it was all downhill. Clearview’s “preferred” lender send you to a third party for the construction loan which ended up being a hard money lender which in itself is a tad predatory. Once we found that out we decided to go with a VA construction loan. However as part of that process Clearview had to be approved as a VA builder. We waited weeks for Lawrence to submit required documents all while interest rates rose from 2.65% to over 5% pricing us out of the house we wanted to build. Again the cause of this was Lawrence refusing to submit required documents. When we explained we could no longer build with the current interest rates Lawrence and his in house realtor Gabby offered us only one solution a cheaper house which we refused. We refused due to the fact that this land we want to build on is where we want our dream home we didn’t want to build a house we really didn’t want or would be too small in the future with our growing family. Upon hearing this Lawrence refused any further contact and began ignoring texts and phone calls. I expressed that if there was any money left over from the deposit that wasn’t spent already we would like it back. I was then told that’s not how it worked. Gabby claimed the money was already spent even though Lee county didn’t even have record of a permit being pulled for the build. A year later we had to just eat the $20,000 deposit.

If you are looking for an honest and trustworthy builder please don’t use clear view. The only thing Lawrence cares about is money, absolutely nothing else.

I almost lost the land I wanted because of this builders inability to listen to professionals and wanted to do what they want at an expensive price. They wanted to make the septic unnecessarily expensive take more trees than necessary and put my septic back 8 acres. In the meeting builder laughed in our faces for buying property with a stream.
After nearly losing due diligence payment and the whole property I changed builders. This builder had the audacity to call and tell me they have the same home for sale and thought of me. mind you 12 acres of privacy and they wanted to shove a house in the middle of other houses. Oh yeah real thoughtful when all they had to do was come down the ridiculous amount on land prep that was unnecessary.

Amazing how I was able to build a home with septic next to the house at half the cost and still keep the woods I wanted. Build a home with more sq footage and still have for upgrades. My home now cost less than the smaller sq footage they were trying to mark up. Would not recommend these people at all.
