A storm caused a tree limb to fall on a power line at our home. It ripped the meter from the house. We called CEMC and they had to cut the power at 11:00 pm. I called MR Stoner at 7:45 am the next morning. The lady that took my call was so nice (Elaine). She rerouted a job and we had electricians at our home by 9:00 am. They quickly repaired the damage and the price was very reasonable. Logan and Devon were very polite and did a great job! If you ever need electrical service call M.R. Stoner. I am definitely a customer for life!!!!

I have full confidence in M.R. Stoner Electric. I have used them on more than one occasion and trust them to get the job done right the first time. Electrician Chase is a very competent, respectful, and all-around good electrician. He was at my home yesterday to trace a short in my electrical wiring. This is a tedious job, but he patiently and professionally found the problem. I'm having him come back next week for an unrelated

We were referred to M.R. Stoner Electric for our home remodel needs. They have been awesome, communicative, thorough, and efficient. Each project we had went smoothly and stayed on budget. Today was the second time I’ve used M.R. Stoner and they were fabulous! We added sconces and a new chandelier in our dining room and the electricians worked so hard to make this install happen. M.R. Stoner Electric, Inc. is Super friendly! I called about having a transfer switch installed at our house. I can't remember their names. I called M.R. Stoner based on their Google reviews and wasn't disappointed. I just purchased a house and had a few issues that I needed them to investigate and fix, if necessary. The first four items they looked at had clear problems. The guys were very informative and showed me everything they looked at and explained what they were doing to repair it. I feel safer in my home and am so appreciative that they were able to take care of all of it. I felt that I got good value for my money and there were no surprises. Additionally, I talked to them about some other "wants" I had around the house and they walked me through what each thing would require and showed me affordable options for some things that I thought were going to be real pains to take care of. I called the company this morning (Saturday) and explained I was having electrical issues at our home. Our 220 line coming into the house at the meter had partially melted and our ac and well pump went down. House built in 1970 w a recessed (in brick) exterior panel. They explained it was going to be an up charge for service on the weekend, which is understandable considering it’s outside of their normal working hours. John came out to the house within an hour of the call. Diagnosed the issue almost immediately. (On the ride over to be exact.) He was knowledgeable and professional. Kept me up to date and explained in detail what needed to happen and gave an estimate prior to starting the repair. His supervisor Sid also showed up shortly after to lend assistance. Together with the coordination of Duke energy had my power back, line replaced, and meter repaired before early afternoon. All class with this company. Hard workers. Communication was great. We moved to Sanford a year ago, and have used M. R. Stoner for three jobs at our new-to-us home. In each and every case they have been responsive, prompt, always explain what they need to do and why as well as clearly explain any charges. I feel lucky to have found a company of such quality and value.

On July 27, 2021 the weather head on my above ground electrical pole fell. I reached out to Duke Progress who told me it was my responsibility to repair. I have the add on electrical services they offer and the contractor contacted me and came on the 27th. Unfortunately that was the first and last time I heard from them even after I called and attempted to follow-up. I called M.R. Stoner on Thursday morning the 29th. Elaine advised she would get someone out that day to take a look at the job. Ryan arrived just as she stated talked me through everything that would need to happen. We discussed replacing the pole, meter box and breaker box all other necessary parts. He said he would get me a quote that evening but he did have two additional jobs to go to. I reached out to Elaine she assured me she would have a quote for me and an appointment time the next day. She delivered due to scheduling with the power company, inspector and getting the pole it would be Wednesday August 4, 2021. John & David arrived as promised they had to wait on the power company. They explained what was going to take place I advised I needed to leave to call me when they were done . I returned to find beautiful "new everything"! I was very pleased with the level of customer service and professionalism that I received. I will definitely be calling M.R. Stoner for all of my electrical needs! Thank you for a job well done.

This is a great company. Everyone is so nice and easy to work with and their pricing is incredibly fair. John came out and did an electrical panel upgrade for our new HVAC system. He did a fantastic job and has been back twice to meet with our HVAC installation guys to make sure the lines were done correctly. Really can’t say enough good things about the company or John! On Friday evening May 28, 2021 I came home from work to find a huge limb from a dead tree had fallen and taken down the power line to my house as well as ripping my service pole, etc off the side of the house. Naturally this would happen after hours and on the Memorial Day weekend. I was told to call M. R. Stoner which I did. Ryan came and explained to me that the lines were still live which wasn't good since they were now on the ground. He proceeded to undo all the damage and then reinstall everything with new parts and it looks better than before. Even though he stayed until about midnight he never once complained and did an incredible job! I can't say enough good things about Ryan or his company. I have some more projects in the future and they will be the ones I call to do them. I highly recommend them!

8-16-24 I had an old power pole on my property that Duke Power would not remove since it was from the previous owner. Chase and Gabriel from M. R. Stoner came out and not only removed the pole but disposed of it as well. I am extremely happy with their service and it was a job well done!

2-3-25 I had M. R. Stoner wire my 24 X 35 metal building. As usual they were extremely professional and did an outstanding job! Josiah and crew are very knowledgeable and efficient paying close attention to the details I had requested like running the service on a certain side and mounting the motion lights in a certain area. I am extremely pleased with their work and highly recommend them!

Work done:
-100 amp outside panel installed
-New HVAC power lines and disconnects run
-New 220 amp service and disconnect run to new hot-tub
-Additional grounding added

I can not express how deeply impressed I am with M.R. Stoner Electric. The communication, customer service skills of their team and the quality of the installation were beyond all expectations.

It starts with calling them for a quote, Angie and Elaine make certain to assure you they understand what you need in all of its complexity. For my scheduled appointment for a quote, they where right on time, showing they respect their customers time and their level of professionalism.

The team member that came to quote the work, Ryan, was super nice. When he left I had complete confidence that the work that they would preform would not only be a clean install but safe. We found their pricing to be right inline with other companies in the area, if not a little better.

The install was very clean and well done. Ryan and his assistant did not cut any corners and show they not only take pride in their work but also care about their customer and their customers homes, any truly great to chat with.

Finally came the inspection, their team setup the inspection for the electrical work and the HVAC work to assist us in getting permits closed out so we could wrap this project.

We really enjoyed our experience and we will be using their services again.

Stoner replaced my Home Generator with a new one after the repairs of the old one was too exorbitant. Their work was high quality and timely, even when faced with unplanned challenges along the way. M.R.Stoner was responsive to my needs and worked with me to get the system I wanted. The emergency generator was ordered and as soon as possible the installation was started. The electricians who worked on the installation were polite and followed my wishes about how I wanted the power from the house run. They did a good job and I got what I wanted. I am writing this review during the Feb 06, 2020 Nor'easter. Electricity has been out for almost 6 hours, and the rain isn't letting up. Luckily for me M.R. Stoner Electric finished my stand-by generator installation a week ago! 'Nailed it!!!

I live in a rural area and am on well water. I've grown tired of filling up the garden tub every time a storm comes, and breaking out the coleman lanterns. I'm over setting up the portable generator and stringing extension cords throughout the house.

I asked M.R. Stoner for advice and they came out to my house to assess my needs. I have 2 internal breaker panels and they recommended a 22KW Generac generator and 2 Smart Switches. They installed load shedding for my downstairs and upstairs Geothermal heat pumps. The quote they provided was very reasonable and exceeded my expectations.

The process took about 2 weeks from start to finish and M.R. Stoner handled everything - design, permits, scheduling gas and inspections, scheduling Duke Energy, installation of course, and testing. The installation crew was outstanding - they were polite and punctual and explained everything they were doing. When I asked if the generator could be moved 1 foot closer to the house - after they trenched, laid gravel, and set the generator, they moved it without complaint. If I had any questions they were just a phone call away, always answered, and always found Elaine for me when I asked specifically for her.

I can't recommend M.R. Stoner highly enough. I wish I could underline and bold that - they were awesome. Power is out all over our little country neighborhood, but not at my house. I'm happy and the rest of the family is high fiveing this decision.

IMPOSSIBLE JOB / INCREDIBLE OUTCOME
I live in a small condominium apartment (since 2013) which has an apartment directly above. In the space between those two apartments resides all plumbing and wiring for both apartments. I developed a small leak under my kitchen sink which I fixed. The water had spread to the contiguous dining area.
My daughter urged me to contact my insurance company. When their field inspector came, he found the glued floor in the kitchen still wet, and a floating floor in the dining room peeling and wet. He said: “We have to replace the entire floor because it is one continuous floor: apartment entry, dining room, living room, and 1 bedroom.”
He also found evidence of mold and called in the mold specialists who tented and demo-d the kitchen and dining room, placed large drying fans and other equipment which ran for weeks at a time.
The mold mitigators demo-d 90% of the kitchen wall down to the studs. During the course of their work they said: “It looks like your electric wiring is inadequate and not up to code.”
This work was not covered under my policy. However, I was required to call electricians. Turns out that indeed it was not up to code; furthermore it was an old Federal panel (1984). Parts are unavailable, and also Government had banned further installs due to its being faulty. Manufacturing was discontinued in 1984, warnings were sent out to all electricians as it was deemed a fire hazard.
I searched on Angie's List and chose from among A-rated providers. Obtained 3 quotes; selected M.R. STONER ELECTRIC. That decision turns out to have been one of the BEST DECISIONS of my long life.
Time was of the essence. Without replacement of the breaker box and wiring, restoration work was at a standstill. The next morning Stoner sent out a crew of 2 (Billy and Jose) to conduct a FREE inspection both outside and inside the property. Took them about 1-1/2+ hours. Very thorough; very detailed; and educated me all along the way. Verdict: replace breaker panel and pull 2 additional wires into the kitchen by cutting 4 small, neat holes in the ceiling.
So here comes the IMPOSSIBLE caveat. The breaker load panel was on the opposite side of the house from the kitchen. Wiring had to traverse from the bedroom entry foyer, across the main entry foyer, across the dining room area, and then turned and pulled through to the kitchen encountering studs and joists along the way. AND, they didn't know what they would find in the ceiling and whether it could be done at all. Second option: exterior installation running wire along that path and into the kitchen encountering walls along the way.
They quoted the job. It was in line with other quotes received. Why did I select M.R. STONER? First, their SUPERB SERVICE. From the outset and throughout; they responded with alacrity, efficiency, caring, compassion, honesty, respect, and good old-fashioned INTEGRITY. Second, they took me at my word about my time and financial crisis. They gave me options and TRUSTED me enough to schedule an immediate remediation without deposit.
The job is now complete. It turns out that with a VERY DIFFICULT job of running wires through the ceiling, they were able to achieve what I wanted. This time, a crew of 3 (add Michael) came. It took them 7 hours. Great team!.... Thoroughly PROFESSIONAL: came on time; worked well together, nonstop except for one 15-minute break; complete focus on the job; organized; courteous; respectful; patient; thorough; detailed; careful; faultless work; VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE; expertly solved problems as they encountered them; great demeanor; quiet; noninvasive; checked and double-checked every step along the way; instructed me at conclusion of the job; left me with a very clean space.
Am I satisfied? You bet! I rate them an A+++. I believe you will too, if you call on them.

After two weeks of trying to hook up new gas logs (in a newly built house) the building contractors electrical crew couldn't figure out how to hook up the logs. With one phone call to M.R. Stoner Electric they arrived on time and within 20 minutes had the problem fixed. I will definitely call them again with any other electrical issues.

We had an emergency situation where we had no water in our house! We made an appointment with plumbers only to find out it was an electrical issue. I randomly called MR Stoner and was told they could fit me in after hours (thank goodness) but within 30 min received a call back letting me know they had someone in my area that could help right away. Ryan and Chase showed up and not only were they professional and courteous, they were definitely experts! They carefully diagnosed the issue and walked me through options to get the water back on asap. We then scheduled the repair and again they returned with a great attitude (despite it being one of the hottest days on record) and an expert repair. MR Stoner recently installed a 22 KW Generac home generator at our home in Silk Hope NC. From my first call to them through receipt of the County inspector's approval they provided all that they promised.

Marty Stoner met his men on site the first day and directly helped unloading and positioning the generator safely into the best position.

Ryan and Chase were then tasked with connecting the equipment, installing the load management, working with Duke Energy, our LP gas supplier and Chatham County inspections department through startup and automatic operation. This all went flawlessly.

Called for a whole house generator install based on a recommendation from a gas installation contractor. Great service, on time, neat, courteous. Price was very competitive. They work within 50 or 60 miles radius of Sanford.

I am happy to write this review and share the wonderful experience we encountered with M.R. Stoner Electric. We lost our power late Sunday evening and called three other companies before coming across M.R. Stoner Electric. So glad that the others were not available even though they list 24/7 service. However, Stoner Electric stands by their claim of providing 24/7 service and we had contact with our tech within 15 minutes of our call. I don't believe we could have received better service from another company. Everyone from the call center employee who took my initial call, to the technician that came to provide service, to the owner who collected payment, all went above and beyond to ensure our power was restored and that we had everything we needed. The longest wait we had was waiting for our power company to come pull the meter for the service tech to do his job. I absolutely recommend M.R.
