Classic Remodeling

Classic Remodeling was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Their prices were reasonable and they were very willing to work with us to fine tune the details to accomplish what we needed while delivering a quality product and staying within budget. They were professional and thorough throughout the whole process and answered all of our many questions. We felt like we could trust them from the very beginning and they delivered. Everyone was great to work with, but in particular we want to thank Gene. He showed up early every day, came back to finish up details as needed, and did an excellent job with everything he did for us. We highly recommend this company for any home remodeling work.

Rene did an excellent job on our miscellaneous carpentry and electrical projects. He was professional, knowledgeable, and timely. The quality of his work was great and would recommend him and Classic Remodeling and Handyman to anyone without reservation! Great experience.

We hired Classic Remodeling and Handyman to renovate our bathrooms. Alex, the owner, took his time working with us and was very knowledgeable offering suggestions and options.

Classic Remodeling and Handyman renovated our offices. Their service and customer care attitude is absolutely wonderful. We are very thankful to Alex for following up every step of the way. His staff has a lot of pride in the work they do.

Renee has been out to out house a couple of times. We had our cameras installed about 3 years ago. They have been working great. Just recently, due to the age of the cameras and them being exposed to the elements, 2 of them stopped working. Renee came out and was able to determine if it was an issue with the cameras or the wiring. We had to replace 2 cameras. He placed the order and we received them within a timely manner. He always arrives exactly at the appointment time. He is friendly and professional. It was important to him that the cameras were facing exactly where I wanted them. He had me look at the app while he adjusted them. He didn't make me feel rushed. Thank you for help Renee!

Changing to a 5 star after discrepancies have been resolved. Workers are great and the actual work is perfection when completed. They came back within a week to resolve my problems and did so even better than I had hoped.

All the crew members were great and very professional. The work product was excellent. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because of delays getting the project finished.

Have used Classic Remodeling and Handyman for a number of projects and they do a great job. Alex and his team (most recently Rene, Gene and Manuel) know what they're doing!

We had a small drywall problem that we needed repaired. Alex came out the day after I called and gave us an estimate, the next week Victor did an excellent job repairing it!

I called Classic Remodeling for a office build. I was working from home in a cramped bedroom. The owner, Alex is great - we talked extensively about using a portion of our basement as an office space, and he came up with some great ideas! The final one worked out perfect as the office was designed for privacy, but built with half walls to not feel closed in. Worked out great and as I had expected!

The whole crew was very professional and quick. Great job by all. Extra mention for Gene, as he went above and beyond at the end of the project with some final finishing touches. Thanks again to the whole crew!

Do not typically write reviews, but I had a very positive experience with this company! Basement flooded in our home, and the original company we used through our insurance basically told us everything needed to be ripped out, as well as wanting to charge more than we were getting from insurance just to pack out our belongings. Classic Remodeling was able to do the mitigation instead, and we discovered that the damage was not as extensive as we had been led to believe. Ended up doing a pack out ourselves so that Classic could replace the floor in addition to the water damage of the walls. Company was able to complete the work in our desired timeline, and basement looks great now. Very happy with Alex and everyone on his team that I interacted with, with communication very easy compared to most businesses I have worked with. Would highly recommend and would use again if I needed a contractor!

We're an electrical contractor and do projects big and small for Alex, Daria and crew. They're organized, honest, and maintain high standards whether it is the finished product, or something unseen behind the drywall. If we discover code and safety violations during the course of work or receive special requests and ideas from customers, Alex is quick to process change orders without causing delays to the schedule. After 35 years in business, we have earned the luxury to pick and choose which contractors we work for. Classic Remodeling are at the top of our list.

Rene, Gene & Victor were great they did a great job my siding looks great they were very professional and knowledgeable . If I could I would give them a 10 . Our third time using Classic Remodeling for services around our home. They just completed work in the bathroom and on the outside of our home. Gene and Manuel did excellent work. Everything was complete and neat before they left. They were competent, polite, gracious and easy to work with.

Added a double exterior door on a garage where there was previously no opening for it. The guys came out and finished it in one day. Tidy, clean, friendly, and above all else great at their job. Highly reccommend!

Classic Remodeling and Handyman did some additional siding repair for us yesterday, in addition to repairing drywall and re-mounting a towel rack in our guest bathroom. Gene and Manuel couldn't have been more cooperative and pleasant to work with. Gene even stained all the spare siding I had remaining, so it's ready for future jobs! Kudos again to Classic Remodeling!

Another job well done by Rene! Last week he repaired and repainted some damaged siding on our house. He found additional damage during the repair, and suggested an effective and economical solution!

Rene did a great job repairing some areas of our garage’s drywall which had been cut open for electrical work. Punctual, efficient, and more reasonably priced than another bid we got. I’ll use Classic Remodeling again!

Replacing this window was much more of a project than I had imagined. A whole lot of measuring and scraping and cutting and shims and insulation and flanges and some kind of broad tape and insulation (which it didn't have before) and there is a big step from hole in a brick wall to a working new window. Shout out to Joe and Manny who spent much of a very cold day making it happen.

Classic Remodel saved me from my DIY unfinished backsplash and, there was no way > could finish it myself 1 wk before Christmas. My husband phone Classic Remove, came right out for a quote and in a few day's, my kitchen was finished and looking amazing. Classic is the best! Have worked a few times with the team on a variety of big and small projects. Alex is honest and direct and always offers his expert opinion on whatever I’m working on. This last project was with Joe, Gerry, and Rene and they are absolute stars! I especially appreciate Joe’s positive energy and hustle! I would trust any of these three guys to work in my house. this is a great and reliable service. rene, mark and manuel were fantastic in helping me with house project. they were respectful to the place and got the job done really fast. i highly recommend them!

My husband found this company on Google. Mark was fantastic in every way with drywall and attic insulation. He also educated me on the ins and outs of our attic. Manuel was very sweet and installed the vents int he attic as well as assisted in the drywall installation. Rene, the supervisor, assisted in all aspects of the job including electrical. Julio, was the drywall pro who was able to determine we needed 2X4's to hold up the drywall (our bedroom ceiling had dropped six inches). Mike mudded, sanded, and painted both our ceiling and bedroom walls. His work was excellent. The last gentleman who came out one time was Joe. He did some work with our drywall also. Alex, the owner, gave us an itemized proposal five hours after he came to our house. He answered all of our questions and his prices were fair and reasonable. Great experience. They came to fix/replace a faulty sink and sub out one of those (useless) built-in soap dispensers with a water filter system. When it seemed like the filter would not fit, they came up with an excellent solution. Rene was timely, thoughtful, and quiet as he moved in and out of our small home. He also did a great job cleaning up any leftover mess from the drilling and installation. Scheduling time for them to come out was painless. I would not hesitate to use them again for small (or big) projects.

After a few bad experiences, I found Classic Remodeling and they have been wonderful. The owner, Alex, is knowledgeable, skilled, and honest. Within a few days, John came out to my house to finish off the remodeling of my bathroom. He was professional, diligent, and highly skilled. I had a very good experience with Rene at Classic Remodeling and Handyman. He assisted me with a plumbing issue and a tricky exterior vent repair for which he came up with a creative and effective solution. He also evaluated and talked through a third potential repair at my house and concluded that it was not something that was in need of repair at this time. I truly appreciate his candor and professionalism.

We live in a first floor condo unit and needed work done on the ceiling in our shower due to a leak in our upstairs neighbors bathroom and some hammer happy plumbers. Alex was able to come out the day we called, much to our surprise, and was incredibly professional and reassuring.

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about John who came to fix the ceiling. The work he did was quick and efficient and he went above and beyond to give us the use of our shower back. He was incredibly polite and personable. You could tell he enjoys the work that he does and we can't thank him enough!

This was a test run to make sure they didn't suck. Been there and done that with a different remodeler. Everything went well during the whole process. We have three other jobs on the runway for them. Will recommend if anyone asks about the need for handyman services.

After a year and a half of talking about it, my wife and I decided to have a bathroom built in our basement. We received a couple of estimates from various contractors and decided to go with Classic Remodeling because of Alex’s knowledge and detailed breakdown of what the project would entail. The crew was professional and punctual. The project timeline ran over a little but I have found this to be expected with renovations and they were consistently communicative regarding any delays. We are very happy with how the bathroom turned out. The next time we have a larger project, Alex will be the first person we contact.

Alex and his team are total pros. They've been easy to work with, transparent with communication and have brought overall great value. I recommend them!

We used Classic Handyman for toilet repair, replacing dining room ceiling lights, repair water damage on ceiling, and replacing curtain rods. From the get-go they were responsive, on-time, and work was all completed within the estimate. I would you them again.

These guys are amazing. On time, responsive, friendly, GREAT QUALITY of work, reliable, prices have been so great.... I've tried Mr. handyman and been consistently disappointed with price and quality, and have tried countless other companies and been equally or more disappointed. I can't stress enough how great Classic Handyman is, as well as Alex. YOU HAVE TO CALL THESE GUYS BEFORE ANYONE ELSE!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Alex came out and gave a decent estimate and insured me that he has installed showers like ours before (neo-angle), he was confident and knowledgeable. We had to put down 50% (normal) but didn’t get a date of when they would be out until the Friday before their Monday start (weeks after payment cleared). Alex came the first day with Dan and Cesar. Everything was explained again to all of them and we thought it was all good. Alex never showed up again even after multiple phone calls. No one was on time and communication as to when someone was coming (day and times) was basically non existent (except Cesar who told us if he was coming the next day or not). The work took longer than we all expected due to a small general error which was corrected (no complaints about that part). We thought that taping and mud on the wall would include sanding (obviously to make sure it was done correctly and sufficient) but no sanding was done. When Dan did the mud it turned out looking like it was the first time he ever tried. He was obviously annoyed he had to come back a few times due to other parts of the job needing to dry or he thought he was doing something else and didn’t have the correct materials. Needless to say once they were done and we sanded, the mud needs to be redone in many areas due to uneven application (gouged areas and very thick other areas) and so many bubbles due to too thick of application. When it came down to it yes most of the work is now done but not worth what we paid. With the extra time it took and the quality of work received we should have done it ourselves and just hired Cesar to do the tile work once the install and walls were completed.

I had Alex come out to install a window unit a/c system...this was for a casement/sliding window, so the install was a little tricky. He also installed the custom blinds I bought for the window as well. He was on time, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and even came in slightly under budget. If I have any other work needed in the future, I won't hesitate to reach out the Classic Handyman again.

I'm working on a more detailed review following our very stressful year on this basic project that was supposed to take two weeks, but I would like to help anyone else who is on the fence about this company to STAY AWAY. I have to dig pretty hard to come up with positive aspects to our work with them. And at this point they are even refusing to follow through on scheduling their follow up visit which is their company policy, to fix all of the issues THEY caused. I cannot think about their work and our interactions with them without becoming incredibly angry.

Starting with their friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasant phone staff, our overall experience was absolutely fantastic! The quote was accurate with excellent value, and the repairman was a fast-working, experienced, kind professional. We will certainly use them for other projects in the future, and I highly recommend this company to any and everybody!

Second time we called Classic Handyman. I almost don't want to leave a review b/c they do such a good job I am worried they will get busy and not be able to provide such great service. One of the only handyman services with such great communication. They are friendly, on time and reasonably priced. Work was done well too. I can't say enough good things!

Kris did an excellent job at replacing a pantry bi-level door and trim. He was professional and showed great care in working in our home.

Brent was the professional who came over and installed the thresholds that had been incorrectly installed by someone else. His work is excellent and thorough and he was on time. He wore a mask and took his shoes off every time he entered our home. Also just a nice, polite guy. Classic Handyman will be our go to for any future needs.

Brent was excellent! Brent was on time and friendly. We had him install exterior shutters. Brent did his best to install these while navigating a couple trees and shrubs blocking the windows, to the point even getting couple of different kind of ladders to get the job done. The work took longer than anticipated due to not having some of the materials at hand , but Brent made the shutters fit perfectly and I am satisfied with the extra time spent. Brent and Classic Handyman realized some of the extra time was due to Brent having to make a couple of trips to the store and the shop for materials, so they decided to still charge us the original estimate. There were no hidden fees, just straightforward billing. Ashley was receptive from the start and kept me updated throughout the process. I am very happy with the service I received from Brent and Ashley at Classic Handyman. I will contact Classic Handyman again for work needed. Thank you Brent and Ashley! Don't use this company .. He will rip you off.. he starts with a budget and always finds surprises that increase the price.. you will end up paying much more.. very slow to finish the project and very slow to respond to emails.. he sends the worker and doesn't supervise them.. does not show up when you need to talk to him .. . and very hard to negotiate with..

Jorge was on time and very professional. Polite, friendly and hard working. There were several projects to be done and he completed them all to my expectations and satisfaction.

They had been recommended to me by one of my neighbors to install a basketball hoop for us.It was done in a timely manner and was done by Noe, Jesse and Austin who did a wonderful job.Would definitely be using them in the future!!

Called Classic Handyman last minute to remove a sink, mirror and built in cabinets. They did a great job! The guys Jessie and Alex were professional, got the job done quick and cleaned everything up. They will now be my first to call when I need help around the house!

Frank came out the Friday before Memorial Day to fix a couple crack leaks in our basement. He was on time and easy to work with, even fixing a thermostat wiring issue we told him about on the spot. Will be using again!

A handyman named Frank came out, the man was excellent. He gladly took on a few extra jobs and completed everything in a timely manner. Ask for Frank.

Frank and Jesus did an excellent job in repairing water damage to our drywall and installing both new windows and outside flashings. They were on time and professional in their service.

Alex underbid the projects severely, and we chose to go with him because his bid was the lowest and they had a perfect 5 star review everywhere we looked.

Two stars rather than one because the back door installation went smoothly and looks good.

The guys Alex sent out did work of varying quality. We asked for 2 gutters to be fixed. One of them is fixed and functions properly. The other one, less than a year later, is leaking in the same place as before.

We asked for am old electrical post to be removed and siding replaced to cover up a hole where birds get in to nest. They removed the post, fixed the siding, and left a small hole where birds came back to nest this year again.

We needed our trap door for our crawl space repaired and made safe. During the bidding process, Alex was confident that he could take care of the issue and had a plan. During the project, it became clear that he did not communicate to his guys what the plan was, and they had never done such a thing before. The spent a lot of time shopping for hydraulic hinges that are a specialty item I could have ordered since their boss hadn't thought ahead to provide them.

Our new steel front door became scratched at some point during the work, and there was not really a solution offered. Also, the door jamb does not meet the flooring on the inside. There is a huge bare gap there. Where a hole was drilled to install the doorknob, the door is cracked.

The front door is another area where the project was very poorly managed. The trim that came with the door was a different width than the trim previously around the door. I was given the option of putting old rotten trim back around the door or have them replace all of the siding around the door. I told them I didn't want rotten trim put back on the house, and they went ahead with replacing siding in the small area surrounding the door.

We asked Alex to replace the aluminum corner pieces on our house. The product provided was a different size and texture from what was on the rest of the house. We were told they no longer made the smooth corner pieces. Then somehow they found some smooth corner pieces. They replaced all but one of those, which is really high up on the house, and that one is still missing. I don't know why they didn't replace it.

We stopped asking them to fix things that were not properly done on the job because the bill was already out of control, and we couldn't afford to pay them any more than we already had.

The bid for the work done was $2,527.11.

We ended up paying $4690.22.

That is 196% of the original estimate.

I talked with Alex numerous times about the bill, and how I felt taken advantage of. He said he had gotten really busy and overwhelmed and the project had gotten out of control. He asked me how I wanted to handle things and said they were already losing money on the project because he had decided not to charge us for some things. We paid the whole invoice that he sent over, and I felt terrible and taken advantage of. That was our whole amount of money we had to finish all repair projects, and they did only some of what we had originally asked for since we could not afford to pay double on everything.

I was given change orders to sign after work was done. Change orders are supposed to be signed before work is done. I did not agree to sign them. I am not a contractor, and I do not know what is involved in all of these projects. That is why we hired a company to do the work. My son was 12 months old at the time, and I also was unable to be project manager because of that. I expected Classic Handyman to handle project management, and they did a very poor job of that.

I tried to be patient and I sat on this review for almost a year to make sure I didn't post it while I was still furious, but this really needs to be put out there. I hope to prevent anyone else from being taken advantage of by this company.

Now we will have to pay someone else to come out and fix what I was afraid to ask Classic Handyman to finish.

We recently had Classic handyman to put a roof vent guard to prevent small animals getting into our attic. We had a very good experience with this company. Jesse was very trustworthy and professional. He listens to me with caring and friendly attitude. He got the job done with 100% satisfaction. I highly recommend him and this company to anyone who’s looking for a handyman in this area.

Frank was very professional with his approach, explanation and job. I called early in the AM and connected with someone who took down all my information and gave me options (i love options). Gave me an idea of when I could expect the worker to stop by. Timing was perfect. Kitchen sink leak was an easy fix but something that I didn't have time or experience to do. Frank walked me through what he was going to do and tested for leaks after. This place will be at the top of my list should I need other items around the house handled.

We had Frank out twice and he was awesome each time. This time we needed an outlet in our bathroom, he was able to quickly run power from the neighboring bedroom (we thought it was going to have to come from the attic!), then switch toilets with another bathroom to install a bidet. He mounted a tv on our stone fireplace and figured out an inconspicuous way to hide the cords. Hardworking and knows his stuff, I would highly recommend!

Tremendous experience all around. Tony was extremely professional and finished both of my jobs quickly and correctly. I was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge, recommendations and more than fair price. Make sure you use Classic Handyman!!!
