We had the unusual opportunity to see Chief and a competitor working side-by-side, on nearly identical roofs, on the same day. We chose the winner (Chief); our neighbor had chosen another roofer. Watching the two teams move through the various stages of the job was fascinating. While both jobs look good, I observed countless details, all of which were better on the Chief side of the contest. What I watched was teamwork, with well coordinated roles, well practiced processes for each step and stage of the job, and planned inspections, to ensure quality before the next stage began. Our roof was done more quickly, with greater attention to detail. Chief even did an additional inspection, the following day, with additional magnetic sweep for nails and tiny debris. I did not observe this on the competing job. Chief delivers on the "Skill" that is in their by-line: "Skilled Labor Isn’t Cheap… Cheap Labor Isn’t Skilled." We got more than we paid for.

Chief Roofing, Inc installed my roof about 7 years ago. They were very professional, and they did an awesome job. When they finished, they cleaned up so good that you couldn't tell they had been here, except for the new roof.

Chief Roofing put a new roof on our house about 8 months ago. They did a very nice job and it was obvious they take pride in their work. Unfortunately, a huge tree fell through our house and did severe damage. We had a huge gaping hole in the roof, beams inside the house and branches poking through the shattered skylight in the kitchen. Huge mess and very exposed to the elements. As soon as I called them they came and boarded up the smaller holes in the roof that we wouldn't have even known were there until insurance people came and helped tarp us in better. The next day they came with a replacement skylight glass that they located by convincing a glass warehouse to search for even though they didn't have power back yet. The insurance company's roofing guy had to do an inspection of damaged roof and commented on the quality of work and materials used on our roof. Chief Roofing has definitely been there for us at a time when it was difficult to even think straight and sort out what we needed! Thank you so much!

Everything happened as promised-schedule, specified materials, workmanship, and cleanup. Jerry (job foreman) was always on top of things- always available and very responsive.

Fantastic experience with Chief Roofing through the entire process. The first point of contact, Billy the sales rep, has decades of experience in the roofing/construction business and was able to share lots of info to help us make decisions. The best part was he was easy going and not pushy. He took his time and was great with our follow-up questions as it took us about 2 weeks to make a decision.

The lead person coordinating the work was also good with updates and info. They actually were able to start work earlier than expected. The crews working on replacing the shingles were nice and efficient. They got everything done in one day, including some repairs to a couple of unexpected problems with our roof. They sent before and after pictures, which was great.

The team putting the new gutters on was also excellent. They addressed some issues we were having with the old smaller 4-inch gutters overflowing. Billy made suggestions on how to fix this as the overflow was running down the siding and could cause wood rot behind the siding. Going with the bigger 6-inch gutters and downspouts was a big help, especially with the heavy rains we get now. This also moves the water further away from the home’s foundation.

We wanted to deal with a local roofer instead of these crews that knock on your door, give a cheaper price, then you’ll never be able to find them if there’s a problem. Paying a little bit more to get quality materials, warranties, and good service from a local company is a good long term investment. Lots of our neighbors also used Chief and all have had good experiences.

I used Chief Roofing to inspect the roof on a Commercial Property I was inspecting, St. James Commercial Property Inspections, a St. James Home Services, Inc Company. Melvin Barnes was very professional, on time, and did everything they said they were going to do plus more. I will use them again!

Chief Roofing has done two projects for me in the last year. Each time they have been quick to respond, quick to start the project, and quick to finish. Would definitely call them again for a project.

Echoing some of the other reviews, I can't say enough good about the experience and outcome of the re-roofing job we contracted Chief Roofing for. From our first point of contact to the end, each person was professional, knowledgable and focused on getting a good result.

I had a pretty complicated roof (49 facets and something like 5k sq ft of roofing) so I wanted a company that was going to take the time to get all the hips and valleys correct. Not to mention all of the flashing! I ended up with 5 different quotations ranging the entire gamut of corporate structures and insurance availability and believe it or not, Chief Roofing was within a couple of hundred dollars of the best bid. Choosing them for the job was an easy decision and boy am I glad I did.

From the moment they arrived, it was clear that they were operating at the top end of industry standards. The entire crew took immaculate care with my bushes, hot tub and pool cover to ensure that no nails went where they weren’t wanted. The roof ended up pristine. Gutters and gutter guards were untouched; flashing was just so and two sheets of dry-rotted roof decking were replaced.

In the two months since the roofing job was completed, it’s rained a few times and no leaks!

As an aside, the project manager and estimator were both veterans or active reserve, so I appreciate that this company is making an effort to take care of the folks that take care of us.

I could not recommend Chief Roofing more highly. I'd used them for a smaller job years ago, but the most recent and much bigger job was even more impressive. Knowing that our solar install was dependent on our roof install, they were beyond accommodating in getting us scheduled in a way that would work best to make that happen as quickly as possible. The owner was knowledgeable and eager to share that knowledge to explain the condition of the existing roof, the project manager was communicative, friendly and on top of everything, and the crew was fast, professional and cleaned everything up wonderfully. The service was excellent, the roof looks great, and we are extremely happy that we used them.

We had our roof replaced by Chief Roofing. things went well. They were thorough in their assessment, performed quality work (as far as we can tell so far), and were open and honest about the process. We were pleased with their service. There was a bit of unprofessionalism on the followup and billing but perhaps it was a miscommunication.

After the wind damage right before before Xmas 22, I had Chief Roofing come out to inspect the damage. We ended up filing through insurance and had Chief Roofing replace the roof. They did the whole thing in one day, were on time and cleaned up after. They did a great job. Would recommend!

5. clean and tidy worksite - techs made multiple passes with the magnet 'broom' to ensure no nails left behind or hidden in yard as well as excellent end of job clean up.

While they were not the least expensive, I was impressed by the knowledge and demeanor of Destin Barnes, who walked me through every detail of what to expect. Destin also suggested solutions not discussed by other bidders. Destin did not let me down. He stayed involved throughout the installation process, not just the sales process, to ensure that the work was done correctly and to my satisfaction. He showed me that they care about their work and their customers.

Very responsive and polite. The workmen seemed happy. The work was well done including the clean up. I got the energy star shingles and the attic is several degrees cooler in the summer.

Chief was not the cheapest estimate I received. But they were the only ones who noticed the original roof had some installation problems. They remove the old rough, put on a new one, and I'm thrilled with the result. They left my yard clean each day. They were incredibly punctual, professional, and responsive. I had concerns about the gardens surrounding my home. I didn't want my flowers and trees to get trampled. They took incredible care in the removal. Out of thousands of plants, they didn't disturb a single one. I swear, my yard was cleaner after they left then it was before they got here. Highly recommend them.

In October - November 2021, Chief Roofing successfully completed a complicated roofing project for the Vance Villa Association, Inc. Chief Roofing removed the existing shingles and installed new shingles on 5 buildings covering 16 townhomes. Chief Roofing had to coordinate with our stucco contractor to ensure that the flashing was correctly replaced. Chief Roofing did an excellent job of communicating with us and completed the work within budget and ahead of schedule.

Chief Roofing has replaced roofing on two different structures at two different properties for me now. They are professional and timely and do great work. Simply put, they know what they're doing and it shows. They leave the job site in better shape than what they found as well. What more could you ask for?

I work in an industry where I see a lot of different vendors for a variety of home repairs. Chief was truly above and beyond what I normally see. They did an entire roof replacement, and left our home in excellent condition. There wasn't a speck of debris left behind. The support staff (scheduling etc) were friendly and helpful throughout the process, as well. I am impressed and pleased with the entirety of the process. 100% would recommend.

This company has been a great asset over the last 3 years. They have taken care of all of our roofing needs for our facility. It includes 56 houses plus 300 apartments including commons areas spanning over 15 buildings. With all this they have been able to assess and repair all issues including one that 5 other companies tried but failed. Very reliable and have always worked to get jobs done quickly.

Putting my house on the market the appraiser informed me I needed some roof repairs. I felt so fortunate to stumble on this company!! They came out very soon and did great, affordable repairs so I could get it on market and pass inspections!!!!

We collected a couple estimates for the roofing shingle total replacement for our home in Hillsborough, NC. We were most impressed by the straightforward approach and honest answers given by the owner of Chief Roofing, Inc. who met me onsite at my home.

We have been in business ourselves for 38 years ourselves and to be honest we felt like a dying breed so it was good to find another company that was straightforward, honest, and delivered exactly what they offered us thru their quote.

We have been meaning to write this review since completion of our roof 5 or 6 months ago, time flies. Anyway their roofing techs and they are techs, they understand the theories and methods needed to deliver a quality roofing job, and they delivered a roofing product that shouted quality, shouted done right. I am sorry I cannot remember their logo, has to do with using true roofing techs to install roofs if quality is your goal. They lived up to their logo, we would highly recommend Chief Roofing.

One more item and for us it was just as critical as the quality of the roof, Chief Roofing techs did not harm one bush, one flower, plant or any of the several yard ornaments we have.

I recently had the shingles replaced on my home by Chief Roofing. I was very pleased with their work. The estimate was detailed and thorough and explained to me. The work was done when they promised and was done in one day. Shrubs were protected and everything was completely cleaned up when they were finished.
