I picked up a mixed batch of shingles the other day, made by two different sawmills. The majority were Canusa, and the others were Maibec. Both were graded identically. The Maibec shingles were fantastic. The Canusa shingles were little more than kindling The shingles from Canusa were not butted or squared to any degree that was useful, and all of them had to be passed over a table saw before they could be used. A project that should only have taken a week has now stretched out over a month due to these extremely poor Canusa shingles. I'll be more diligent when purchasing shingles in the future, as this has been a costly mistake.
