Magdaleno and his crew were amazing. They were able to do our back and side yard. I was in no rush so timing wasn't an issue. Would recommend and use again.

I had two projects done concurrently: a 200 square foot flagstone patio and a gravel walkway. The job was bid at what I thought was a very good price for me. The workers came and took the time to level the bed for a small retaining wall and make sure that the retaining wall blocks were level, even and stable. They worked hard even in the rain. When all was done, they had done exactly what I had asked for. The Supervisor did come to me and say he was surprised about some aspects of the job and requested more money. As the original quote was, in my opinion low, I did not begrudge adding to the payment. I did suggest that letting me know early that he saw problems would have been better than surprising me later. The attention to detail made it worth the cost. I would suggest that improved language skills would make for better communication and benefit Calmo and the customer. A homeowner with no experience of landscaping of this magnitude may not know what's possible or what the outcome will look like. The landscaper is the expert, and I would have appreciated more guidance. I did get the work I asked for at a very reasonable price. That should be enough, no?

They did great work on our stump removal project, but a terrible job at our paving project.

After having a good experience with the stump removal and clean up we had hoped that would be reflected in their work of installing pavers. Unfortunately, every task was done incorrectly resulting in us firing the crew and having to find someone new to re-do everything. Beyond doing a poor job, we ran into issues of honesty. After confirming they had excavated the agreed amount we checked with a measuring tape and found they were 4 inches off. Little situations like that continued and caused us to spend much of our time trying to provide oversight.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
