Great experience with everyone at Cal-Homes and I totally recommend them. We had 3 bathrooms done by Greg to perfection. Great guy and even better carpenter. He also did our new staircase and floors which turned out amazing. Outstanding work All the way around. At the same time, I also had the other Cal-Homes crew do our new basement kitchenette, floors, foundation work and water proofed the exterior of our house. They were in and out for just under 3 months total. Rehabs are not easy to live through but day by day they made it easy.

We would not recommend Cal Homes. We hired them to finish our basement. Every day posed new errors and problems. Problems include: They built walls in the wrong place despite having marked the floor with masking tape. They send youngsters out without tools - had to borrow mine. Allowances for things like carpet or cabinets are below the price of anything available and Cal charges 15% for any cost over the allowance. We found out later that they do a lot of work for house flippers, that is the quality you get. You should also be aware that the owner has significant behavioral problems making him impossible to deal with and absent at times.

I hired Cal Homes to do a partial finish of my basement and to tear down and build a new deck. All of the workers were respectful and friendly. The work they did was top quality. I'm very happy with the experience and highly recommend them for home improvement projects.

Cal Homes recently repaired/remodeled our bathroom. Staff was very friendly, professional, quick, clean. Completed the job on schedule, even with a little hick-up (on our part). Would definitely recommend them for all your home improvement projects.

Cal homes did a demo on our bathroom! The communication with Luke and his crew was amazing! The staff were so friendly and professional. Everyday they would talk to me about what the plan would be for the bathroom. i am beyond satisfied with our beautiful bathroom! We recently used Cal Homes to complete our basement. From start to finish they were excellent to work with. We worked with Luke to outline the project, and he gave us a rough timeline for when everything would be finished. They finished even faster than expected! The crew was very friendly and worked daily to finish the job. We are extremely satisfied with the outcome and would gladly use or recommend Cal Homes for another home project.

Got deffered maintenance? Get Cal. We've waited a long time to do many needed upgrades and repairs. They have done a couple bathrooms so far and so far so good.

Cal Homes renovated a room in our house which had, at one time, served as a patio and was then closed in on one side. Then, it was a room without air conditioning or heat, where mice had built a freeway into the house, and rain had entered the house through the outside wall. Now, this is a room we can actually use. Cal Homes did a fantastic job - they are punctual, reliable, and professional. The quality of the work of Greg and his men is superior. When we had two minor issues, Luke sent back two of his guys back within a day to take care of it. We wish we could give this company 10 stars instead of just 5. They are amazing.

My wife and I have used CAL Homes for a major master bathroom remodel (down to the studs and addition of a cathedral ceiling), replacement of a french door with a patio door, replacement of interior doors, and now for a rebuild of our deck. Quality is great, very professional to work with, communicative on schedule and follows through on their commitments. I highly recommend Luke and his team.

We recently used Cal Homes for a full kitchen remodel (down to the studs!) and it was an incredibly pleasant experience! Luke was involved in any major decision or hiccup, and his office staff was consistently in contact with us to let us know of any changes or items for us to complete. A special thanks to one of their employees, Brad. He not only did an amazing tile job, but went above and beyond to be sure that we were happy with the job every step of the way. He also left our home incredibly clean at the end of each work day, understanding that we still had to live in this space with all of the drywall dust and mess. Everyone was respectful of our home, while also being friendly and making us feel comfortable sharing the space with them for a few weeks. We would absolutely recommend Cal Homes and will use them again in the future!

We just worked with Cal Homes (Crown Point, IN) to finish our unfinished basement. We can't say enough great things about Cal Homes. Luke is, by far, the best contractor we've ever worked with. On time, organized, moved the project along, FABULOUS crew and we couldn't be happier with the results. We had three proposals from three different contractors, and Call Homes was right on the money. All of our city inspections went through with flying colors! Great work at a good price. We would definitely use them again if the need arises!

Brad did a great job. He was polite, a hard worker. Cleaned up the mess when completed each day. Very reasonable rates. I would definitely recommend Cal Homes and would use them again if needed.

We did have Cal Homes redo our master bathroom. There were highlights and very low moments as well. We stayed quiet for a whole year until this morning when our towel holder fell out of the wall.... the last straw. Not recommend at all. Take your money and spend some where you can not only get better quality work but professionalism that they don’t have. They are very nice until they get the job but after that they are in charge. Took three time longer then they promise mad we still figuring out poor quality of work they done. They are very unprofessional and poor workmanship not easy to deal with. They have crew member that very unstable and very difficult to communicate with. Even that owner know about it but he ignores it. Think twice before even call for quote.

Luke Cotton and Cal Homes are the "Go To Professionals" for new construction and remodel to feel like new projects. If you are in Northern Indiana or the Greater Chicago area give Cal Homes a call before you start your next project - you will see why I say they are professionals.
