After a recent storm in our area, we contacted Dan Walrack of Built Strong. Dan came out to access the roof damage and returned days later to meet with our insurance company’s claims adjuster. Dan pointed out the problem areas, which included hail damage to our Leaf Guard Gutter system. Whenever we had a question and telephoned or messaged Dan, he would answer his phone or get back to us right away. Dan explained the process and guided us through the next steps. Some of our neighbors saw the Built Strong sign in our yard and asked for Dan’s information. We are confident that Dan Walrack and Built Strong will do their best work for them.

A lot of things have been said, a lot of things have been meant. None more, than I love you. Dan from Built Strong received that exact message from me privately. This guy knows what he’s doing when it comes to restoring your home. If I could have given 6 stars I would have. Thanks again Dan for being the man you are and thank you Built Strong for backing such a great individual.

I have had a wonderful experience working with Reed and his team to get our roof shingled. I am most impressed with the quick call backs and support they provide! The men that did the actual labor were kind and cleaned our yard terrific. It was very windy that day so the debris was all over and they even walked to our neighbors yard. Great people to work with. Jake came to my door after a storm to to inspect my exterior. I had already signed with another company, but my claim was denied. But I had a small and unrelated job that I've been trying to get someone to do with no luck. Companies would say they'll do it and not show up. Built Strong agreed to do the repair for a reasonable price. They completed the job as promised, and had very good communication throughout. They're the real deal. Kiersten, the project Analyst, submitted paperwork to my insurance company that my insurance adjuster said they’ve never seen such awesome attention to detail there was no way they could deny the adjustment. My experience with Built Strong Exteriors was with a guy named Graham. This took place a few weeks ago. He was very personable and respectful. Even though we didn’t end up getting a new roof as it was not quite needed at this time, he explained things thoroughly and gave me a good understanding of what to expect with each process. He kept me updated through each step. He was also very sweet and loving towards my dog which may not seem like a big deal to non- dog owners, but it was for me. I felt comfortable inviting him into my home as my dog felt safe with him and he doesn’t always immediately feel safe with many men. Graham was also very personable with my son, cracking jokes and making sure we felt comfortable with him around (and on top of) our home. 10/10 experience!

Built Strong was fantastic to work with! We had a complex situation with a long timeline, but Keely stuck with us the whole time. Every one of their staff was respectful and made our stressful situation a pleasant one! We can’t thank them enough for the incredible work they did.

It’s worth noting the crew that came out was also so responsive and respectful! We had a fence post we were worried we would have to remove because it was impeding on the corner of the house, making it difficult to get to the siding. To our pleasant surprise, they went out of their way to straighten the post for us so we didn’t have to remove it, which was such a treat because we have a dog that needs that fence. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

Had Dan stop out to inspect my roof and siding. He did a thorough walk through and was not able to determine damage from a storm. I had the privilege to work with Dan W and the experience was great! Nobody I have ever worked with in the past knew more about roofing and how to handle insurance claims as well as new roofs. Very satisfied with Dan W and what he brought to the table with his 15plus years experience.

Door to door sales tactics despite posted signs on my door for no solicitation. Argued with me when I told them I'm not doing business with a company who disregards my posted signage.

If the company can't respect my request to not knock on my door, they aren’t getting my business. Maybe have flyers to leave place where it's clearly posted that they don't want a sales spiel.

Nate his team were great to work with. They walked me through the process and helped with the insurance side as well. We did find several nails after they left and a couple in our tires but none of them punctured them that we are aware of.

Built strong did a superb job, not only with the construction but also with the estimating and insurance claim process. Keely went beyond expectations to keep us informed throughout the entire process!

Working with Built Strong was a definite pleasure! It started with a door-to-door cold call and ended with a brand new roof! Nate Kissam was a real pro, taking me through the process from the initial inspection and communicating progress to collecting payment when the roof was done. He handled all the details and walked me what would happen during each step as well as worked with my insurance adjuster directly. I also had the distinct pleasure of working with Keely, when it was time to pick out specific materials and colors for my new roof/eave spouts. The work crew was in and out in 1 day. I knew up front when they would be there and when they would finish. Material and supply delivery times were communicated ahead of time and progress on my project was documented for me to see. And as a bonus, they did a great job on clean up before leaving the site! I highly recommend this company, and these people specifically. I had started to think that real customer service was a lost art, but these folks have REALLY made it their specialty!

I was referred to Built Strong by my sister Kiersten and they were efficient. Jerry did a great job explaining my options and Kiersten even picked up and dropped off my final check for me so I didn’t have to. I explained to them I just landscaped new flowers and plants, so protecting them was very important to me. They did just that! Highly recommend!

As a former remodeler, I was extra critical to the men that worked on my home. I watched them closely to ensure it was all done right. I was so pleased that they did such an excellent job! I have only good things to say!

We had our roof, gutters and some exterior trim siding replaced by Built Strong in Sept 2024 and Built Strong did a great job from initial contact to completion. Initially I was a little hesitant as Built Strong was in the neighborhood cold calling on storm damage from the previous Summer. I wasn't aware there had been significant damage, nor was I familiar with Built Strong. Colin, the Built Strong rep, assured me there would be no commitment to his evaluation and he got to work inspecting our roof and Exterior for damage. Colin produced digital evidence of the damage, explained the recovery process and proceeded to engage our insurance company. Several days later Built Strong sent out a Rep to meet with the Insurance inspector and thoroughly pointed out all the damage to the Inspector.
After receiving the Insurance Claim there was a significant difference in the claim vs final quote which didn't completely surprise me as the roof was aging and we anticipated depreciation costs. That is where Kiersten Larson the Project analyst @ Built Strong took over. Kiersten worked diligently with the Insurance Adjuster to justify material costs to the Insurance company. There was a period of time when we were not receiving timely responses from our adjuster but Kiersten stayed on top of the communications and scheduling in order meet our Insurance companies deadlines for work completion. As part of those communications Kiersten worked with the adjuster to provide a supplemental review which ultimately led to our deductible being our only out-of-pocket expenses. Kiersten was also responsible for working with another contractor to schedule and complete other work included in the claim.
The Installation and clean up went without a hitch. The Installers completed their work in two days and did a great job installing and cleaning up after themselves. Final review for the Insurance Company included detailed photo’s/description of the entire work process provided by Built Strong. Billing and final payment were straight forward and easy.
We appreciate the time that Kiersten and other Built Strong reps put into the entire roof/siding/gutter replacement process and recommend their quality of work in all steps of the improvement/replacement process.

I would like to say on a scale from 1-10 I would give Built Strong Exteriors A 10!!! After experiencing a Hail/Wind/Rain/and Lightning storm on July 13,2023. We were dealt with an Insurance Company that wouldn’t listen to Our need for repairs to Our Home.They sent out adjusters that had Blind folds on.So going through All this STRESS for a Year with adjusters and 2 other Contractors,We Hand Picked Built Strong Exteriors!! We met with Michelle Tietz Customer acct. Specialist.she took photos of all damages and listened to Our concerns.We signed a Contract for Roof/siding/downspouts/gutters/chimney repairs. So All was submitted to Our Insurance Company.But the Insurance Company denied this and only wanted to do half of Our Roof and partial damage.So that is when Kiersten Larson (Project Analyst) stepped in for Built Strong Exteriors.She has been by Our side for the past Year and has Not stopped fighting for Our Rights as Home Owners!! She has contacted City officials along with Mn.Commissioners to Help!!! She Has been Our Voice and Our Savior!!! We were then Approved an Award Letter October 2024 For Full Replacement on Our Roof and Chimney downspouts and gutters and siding with Built Strong Exteriors!! Jerry Broaddus and His Crew (Garret) has now Helped Us move forward with repairs on siding and looking forward to complete all other repairs. So if you are looking for someone that will help you through the process, I highly suggest Built Strong Exteriors. Kiersten Larson will Not Let Your Down!!! She will Help you Step by Step!!!

The whole process of having our roof replaced because of hail damage went extremely seamless, thanks to Nate Kissam (Built Strong Representative). Everything is guaranteed. Everything was handled by Built Strong which included being present with the insurance adjuster during the process. That also included all the communication with the insurance company. Nate's customer service was a 10 out of 10.

Nate K. and the BuiltStrong team provided great service and end product. Nate followed up with me every step along the way, both in person and texts/phone calls, and ensured that our new gutters and downspouts were installed exactly the way that he and I had discussed and planned. He was very detailed, friendly, and professional. He was proactive, communicated very well, and he had no problem reaching out to his internal resources to get their opinions when it was necessary. And the gutters and downspouts look great! Thanks Nate and BuiltStrong- great job!

Built Strong helped me with my house built in 1885. Through lots of twists, such as finding the original siding under the siding, working with my insurance to get everything requested over, to being informed about my different options with cost in mind. They were highly informed and flexible for the many surprises that can come with working on an older house. Would recommend.

Terrible communication and poor workmanship.
I hired Built Strong to reroof my house and garage. This is the worst company I have ever worked with. What should have been a couple of days of work, turned into a several-month-long headache. They had terrible communication skills, and the crew they hired to repair my roof had no respect for workmanship or my property. The roofing crew were not Built Strong employees; I don’t know where they found these guys. One of them looked like he was 14 years old. Below, I will show you pictures of their poor work with descriptions. However, the bottom line is that you should not hire this company because of the terrible communication and poor workmanship.

Pic #1 shows our primary bedroom, which is the attic space of our house. Built Strong did not install a roof vent correctly, which led to water leaking through our ceiling. As you can see, we had to move all of the furniture to the living room so a repair team could come in and patch in some new sheet rock and repaint the whole room. This was a huge headache that required us to live in our living room for about five days. This also put our home at risk of growing black mold, and we’re lucky we discovered the leak early. An exterior roofing company should not have to work on the inside of your house.

Pic #2 and #3 show damage to my gutters. The crew that Built Strong hired had no respect for my property. As you can see in picture #4, they didn’t use ladders with stabilizers. Instead, they leaned their ladders against the gutters and hauled the shingles up by hand. This badly damaged my year-old gutters. This crew did not have the proper tools and were very inexperienced. Built Strong did end up replacing my gutters but with a lesser-quality gutter and hangers.

Pic #5. After repairing the garage roof, the crew failed to install the roof vents. The vents were sitting on my lawn for a couple of days. Once I told Built Strong about the vents, they sent a crew out to install them. They came at night to install these vents, and they eventually installed them over the rafters and not where the old ones were. You can see in picture #6 they missed the mark on this vent. And in picture #7 they cut into the rafters while installing them.

Pic #8 shows a poorly installed drip edge. Pic #9 shows a large amount of debris in my gutter. This is just one gutter, the other gutters had plenty of nails. And they did not do a great job picking up the nails on the ground. I had to rent a nail magnet from a rental company to make sure my yard was safe.
These pictures are just a small example of the poor workmanship that Built Strong does. Built Strong employees do not seem to communicate with each other. I should have only needed to speak to the Project Manager. Instead, they’d pass me on to the production side of the company, or the finance side, or the lead tech. When I found a problem with the roof, I’d tell the lead tech, but then when I spoke to another Built Strong employee, they would deny ever hearing about it. They were the worst company I’ve ever worked with.

On Google, they have an okay rating, but I don’t know how they can stay in business. Save yourself the hassle and do not hire this company.

AAA+++ We replaced three roofs with Built Strong within a two-week period. Yes--THREE! Charles is an incredible advocate to have on your side. He is experienced, knowledgeable, patient, honest, communicative, timely, dependable, adaptive and frankly just a damn good guy. I should know--we worked together on THREE roofs. Two were RCV, and one was ACV. So I required different processes and approaches for these projects. Charles was there every step of the way with suggestions, opinions and guidance. Jerry is straightforward and honest. Items we discussed were reflected in the final invoice and in the work that was completed. MaryLynn is the insurance company whisperer. She did a great job jostling with all the insurance adjusters and reps to hunt down what was owed. What more could you want? For what it's worth, I've used 4 other roofing contractors over the years so I do have a baseline to compare to... Anyways... For my Built Strong experience: Roof 1 = A+ Roof 2 = A+ Roof 3 = A+

We had a wonderful experience having our old roof replaced by Built Strong Exteriors. We worked specifically with Junior Medina, and he worked tirelessly to coordinate everything for us from start to finish. Communication was always great, we had no trouble understanding when things were happening and the entire project was completed seamlessly with almost no effort from us. They advocated directly with insurance for our damage and helped us get full coverage for the replacement, which we found invaluable. The crew worked fast to replace the roof and did a great job cleaning up the site afterward. Our roof looks great now thanks to Junior and the Built Strong team. Highly recommend working with Junior! He will work hard and take great care of you.

Project still not completed it's been over a year later. Total faulty workmanship inspector still hasn't signed off on project from 6/18/24. Today's date is Nov, 19 and Winter is coming. I've contacted the company and dealt with so many people that each other passes the message on to the other and nothing gets done on my home. I am a very frustrated home owner.

UPDATE 11/21: The work is finally done but the pain continues. I'm on my third set of paperwork that's been done incorrectly while trying to send an invoice to my insurance. Built Strong is not responding to any calls or emails and will not even return my calls. There is absolutely zero pride in their work or customer service. I will throw a party when this process is over to celebrate never having to deal with this company again. Stay FAR FAR away.

The salesmen are extremely pushy and get you to sign a contract as soon as possible by saying that they will take care of everything for you and it will be so easy, etc. etc. I can confidently say that working with Built Strong has made this process twice as hard as it needed to be.

Instead of Built Strong working with my insurance company and handling everything (as they promised) I had to facilitate all conversations with both my insurance and built strong while begging Built strong to actually start any sort of work. Communication is awful with Built Strong - ESPECIALLY once I wrote them an $8000 check to "order materials."

Fast forward a year, the work has finally started and I have had nothing but problems. Not reading the contracts correctly, not recording or following the requests that we clearly had gone over, extremely poor workmanship - I've dealt with it all. They left jagged metal shards throughout my yard, left window trim completely unsecured and flopping around, windows uncaulked, downspouts in the wrong locations as well as the complete wrong color, trampled just about every plant and blade of grass in sight. The list goes on and on and on. Not to mention that I get passed to a new person in the company about once a month so I never have any idea who to reach out to about the constant issues.

Built Strong won my business last year with promises of doing timely, quality work while completely taking care of the insurance process. They have over promised and under delivered every step of the way and I very much regret giving them my business. I would give 0 stars if possible.

If you want a painful experience, go with Built Strong. If you want your gutters done wrong, go with Built Strong. If you want to be lied to, go with Built Strong. If you want poor customer service, go with Built Strong. If you want damage done to your house with no resolution, go with Built Strong. Don’t let their slogan fool you, they don’t care about you and they definitely don’t care about your family. All they care about is getting paid.

UPDATE: Also recently worked with Treavor Weaver to resolve a moderately important issue associated with our job last summer. Treavor worked to get it resolved and has the customer service competency that you would want on your side.
