I urgently needed a full roof replacement in the middle of November. My insurance company threatened to drop me within a month if it wasn't fixed, despite being functionally fine. I called Northern Exteriors and about 10 other companies. Northern Exteriors was prompt, communicated above and beyond, was fast with their quote, matched the other quotes I had, and had my roof finished within a week. All while keeping me up to date of each step.

The work they did was top notch, they left the site perfectly clean, and there were no hidden charges. I'd use Northern Exteriors again in a heartbeat.

Jason and his team are excellent! We had our roof done after insurance company refused claim for hail damage. We also did gutters, upgraded soffits and added a roof ridge vent. Jason is knowledgeable and kept us informed. The crew he works with is great and cleaned up the yard afterwards of all nails and debris. They’re a good choice!

We had to have some minor repairs done to our siding and have some of the vinyl replaced. We called and they had Patrick come out the same day (within a few hours of calling) to make the repairs. My husband and I first reached out to Northern Exteriors in 2015 to have some roofing repairs completed and most recently, in June of 2023, we had our entire roof and gutter system replaced by them due to extensive hail damage. Between 2015 and the present date, we also worked with Northern Exteriors to have gutter covers applied to our gutters and to re-shingle an area of the roof where a skylight was removed.

Patrick from Northern Exteriors has managed all of the work associated with each project over this eight-year span. Throughout all of the projects, we have found Patrick's knowledge, professionalism, responsiveness, and quality of work to be exceptional. Patrick kept us well informed at each stage of the project and he demonstrated outstanding problem-solving skills when his work crews encountered challenging conditions while completing their efforts. We would highly recommend Patrick and Northern Exteriors for roof and gutter repairs like the ones they have completed for us on our home.

Based on our great experiences with Patrick and Northern Exteriors, we encouraged my father-in-law to consider Northern Exteriors for his roof replacement. He took our recommendation and had his roof replaced this summer and had an equally exceptional experience with Patrick and the Northern Exteriors work crews.

Following the hailstorms of May 2022, my neighbor recommended Northern Exteriors for roof replacement due to their positive experience post-storm. Being tired of pushy storm chasers at my door, I decided to give Northern Exteriors a call as they were a local company based in Cottage Grove. Patrick, a representative from NE, visited my home shortly thereafter, assessing the roof's condition and agreeing to assist. A week later, Patrick returned to meet my insurance adjuster, and they inspected the damage together.

Patrick's helpful demeanor raised my expectations for Northern Exteriors' service. By mid-July 2022, my insurance claim was processed, but it only covered a partial roof replacement. Patrick took charge of the situation, promising to advocate on my behalf. He even took photographs to demonstrate that the proposed shingle samples wouldn't match, building a case for a full roof replacement. While I felt encouraged, my faith wavered as NE was also delaying my neighbor's roof installation. After a month of no contact, I reached out to Patrick via text. He replied that he had penned a strong email to my insurance provider, advocating for a full replacement. This renewed my confidence in Patrick's support.

However, when my insurance informed me that my shingle's model was still in production, I relayed the news to Patrick. He assured me he would obtain a sample and swing by for pictures, but he never came to my house as he said he would, and communication ceased.

September arrived, and Patrick's updates dwindled. My texts for updates remained unanswered. Fall passed without any word. The crowbar Patrick left in my gutter was a reminder of his absence, prompting me to inquire about the roof's status based on the insurance recommendation. Sadly, Patrick did not respond, and with winter approaching, I chose to wait until spring.

Moving forward to the recent spring and summer, I hoped for contact from Northern Exteriors, but it never came. Eventually, I connected with Ortiz Exteriors, a local Oakdale company, who efficiently collaborated with my insurance to replace my entire roof within 1 and 1/2 weeks.

Although Patrick initially promised a lot from Northern Exteriors, the outcome fell short. I recall that Patrick had mentioned a sick child during our initial interactions, and in such a situation, I would have appreciated some form of communication or a transition to another staff member. However, considering Patrick's lack of response, I doubted any communication from Northern Exteriors would be forthcoming.

Second roofing project Jason and his team has done for me. He looked after all of the details in getting the claim approved in a matter of a few days, and the work done was excellent.

My home was damaged over the summer from a storm. After doing research online and meeting with several contractors, I made the decision to work with Jason and his crew. Jason’s knowledge, experience and customer service made me feel comfortable right from the start. Jason was communicative throughout the entire process. I contacted Northern Exteriors to work through a wind/hail damage claim on our home. We were fortunate to have the roof, siding, and gutters replaced, so the decisions were bountiful. Because we would essentially be doing a complete update of our exterior, we wanted to make sure it was done right! Jason presented all the options to us and did not rush us in the process. When we were working through a couple of siding options, Jason provided pictures to us and even drove to his past properties (yes, even to WI!) to show us what the end product would look like. Truly, above and beyond.

Jason did all the work with the insurance company so the claim was not a burden by any means. Most importantly, his crew(s) are top-notch. Roofers, siding - all great and personable crews...and very patient with any requests I had during the re-siding process.

In 2019 I’d sold my Lake Minnetonka home. Upon the inspection, the buyer requested a new roof. Northern Exteriors was able to act quickly to replace the roof prior to closing. In addition, a cash discount was given. These additional savings were great!

Recently my home near the home Northern Exteriors completed in 2019 suffered hail damage. Being so impressed with the speed, price, and quality of work I’d had done the year prior, I sent one email to Northern Exteriors. I received an almost instant reply. Northern Exteriors presented some shingle color options, I chose a color, and was done. Northern Exteriors took things from there. The company even reached out to my insurance company so that I didn’t have to.

I contacted Northern Exteriors on a Wednesday, chose a shingle color and they had a dumpster in my driveway the next day. They began work the day after that, and were complete, cleaned up, and gone in a day and a half; before the insurance check had even arrived in the mail. Thanks to Northern Exteriors’ customer service, the work was completed before my insurance check had even arrived and I was able to submit an electronic payment online to them once an insurance check that they’d helped release was received.

I highly recommend Northern Exteriors and will certainly turn to them for any future needs.

When I Googled for siding companies near me, northern exteriors is one of the companies that i found. Within an hour of talking to Jason over the phone, he he came to my house ,looked at the damage on my siding and gave me advice on how to proceed. .Within two weeks of receceiving the adjuster's reportert,he started the job and got it done faster than I even expected. He is very professional, polite,reliable and does an excellent job.

We had some wind damage to our roof, and a neighbor recommended Northern Exteriors, so I called Jason Berrey (the owner) and he stopped by the same day to take a look. He worked with the insurance adjuster to prove to them we needed a new roof, and while they were looking at the roof Jason observed some storm damage to the siding that we had never noticed. The adjustor included that in our claim too.

From start to finish it was painless. Jason is very responsive and the roofing crew did a great job on a large steep roof , they were done in a day and a half, cleaned up the enitre yard, and even went around with a big magnet to get any stray nails.

We are going to work with Northern Exteriors to replace the siding on our home soon too.

Our experience with this company could not have been better. They were more than a siding installation company. They worked with us to design an exterior through computer simulation. I feel this separated them from the other company's we looked at. We had a small issue and they fixed it quickly and correctly at not cost to the owner. There was no hidden costs or surprises. They were always on time and showed up every time they said. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

First, we want to thank Jason for responding to our needs so quickly because our house was being sold, but, part of the inspection was that we needed a new roof. We had other estimates but Northern Exteriors was much lower. Our roof was entirely completed the following day while we were out of state. I myself have worked for a roofing company and I can say the roof turned out perfect and as far as the clean up for the tear off I could find nothing around the yard that indicated a roof had just been put on. I had Northern Exteriors install LP siding on our home in Sept 2014. Our house is a 4300 square foot walk out home with an additional detached garage and they installed LP on every side but the front of the house. I received estimates from 5-6 contractors and chose Northern Exteriors because their initial bid was fair and I liked working with Jason and his follow up was very prompt. The siding looks great and his crew did a great job. The were very professional, worked very hard and kept everything picked up after they left each day. The head of the crew (forgot his name) kept me updated each day on their progress and made sure we were pleased with the way the siding was looking. I did my due diligence finding a good contractor (because a different contractor did not do a good job with out initial job 10 years ago) and would highly recommend Northern Exteriors.

In August of 2013, a devastating storm swept through our neighborhood and caused a lot of damage to our home. Northern Exteriors MN Inc. re-sided our house with vinyl siding. The original siding was Masonite hard board and was rotting in various places on the back of our home that faces north. It was a pleasure to work with Jason. He spent a good amount of time explaining our options and the different products. He was very helpful with our decision to go with vinyl on 3 sides of our home. We were able to keep the cedar on the front of the house and the trim. His team was very professional and hard working. I would definitely recommend using this company.
