Building Solutions - Vernal, UT

My experience with this company started on 7/25/2023. Travis Reynolds (Project Manager) came to my home to give me a quote on fixing my front porch and fence. In his words it’s about a 2 week project. Here we are 11 months later still unfinished and I receive a bill via email for the full price on a unfinished job. I wish I had kept pictures the entire time to show the truth behind this company’s lack of knowledge and work ethic but unfortunately I did not so all I can share is their final product pictures and my words. This was an insurance claim so my cost is the same regardless . From the beginning I let Travis know I didn’t care how long it took or how much it cost as I just wanted my home to be done correctly and look good when the job was finished. Travis and Jay Evans (Owner) gave me their word many of times we would be taken care of and it would be what we wanted, I took them at their word and that was a mistake. I highly recommend getting documentation of anything that changes on the scope of the job with this company, do not trust their word as it has no value. They had to redo almost everything on this project a minimum of twice due to a half ass job. 10 months in and many conversations, pictures of posts and a sketch of the post they finally start the post and during this time my wife is not happy with how the front of our house is going to look like as the post is much bigger than expected and the top of the post is not what we wanted, I call Travis and let him know we would like to stop work and revisit what we want the post to look like because it looks out of place on the front of our home. Travis then comes to my home while I’m at work and deals with my wife. Showing up with the temperament of a toddler. He shows his a.. to my wife and makes it very uncomfortable to deal with him. The next 3 weeks is spent with them trying to get my fence done correctly and it never was, still missing pieces for the fence, while waiting for them to come finish wrapping the post I get an invoice emailed to me for the full price of the job. I head to the office to find out what’s up and I meet Cameron O’Neil. That is now the spear head of getting their money on an unfinished job. When I asked for an itemized invoice, he replied with a condescending demeanor and said why! Why would we give you that? He told me absolutely under no circumstances would he give me an itemized invoice on a bid job and they would see me in court before they produced an itemized invoice. After 1 hr of back and fourth conversation, we never came to common ground. I left the ball in their court to speak with Jay and see what we can do to get the job finished. 8 days later I get a text from Travis saying they would like to settle up and part ways. Seems like a long drawn out review but honestly I am condensing almost a full year and leaving out the majority of things. Just wanted to share my experience in hopes to help anyone else avoid what I went through with Building Solutions. As a local business owner myself that has built a reputation on customer service, integrity, honesty and transparency I’m not sure how these men are still in business.

I had them add an awning off the back of my house. It was a good experience and looks awesome. Thank you.
