Great hidden resource! I’ve lived here for almost nine years and did not know about this place, since Home Depot and Lowe’s are so prevalent. Great assortment of inventory.

Edit: Turns out the manager we talked to was Sean, the "vice president" Seems the original owners did a terrible job of handing over the business.

I truly hoped this would have been a great store for us and our projects. I spent 3700 for decking materials and ended up needing to exchange them for a different style. Not only was the sales rep Morgan extremely unprofessional, but then the store manager got in on it as well. The store manager cussed at us over the phone, and he changed the restocking fee from 20% to 25% because we argued paying a restock fee when they delivered the wrong material.

Very disappointed! My husband and I thought that going to Budget Home Supply instead of Home Depot would be a good choice. Our first encounter five years ago was with a woman who helped us pick out floor tile and shower onyx. She was great! We went back for bathroom supplies and she was gone. So we dealt with another woman. We trusted she was going to take care of us. We had to order more onyx so she started putting in the order when my husband noticed the measurements weren’t correct. She assured us she was going to make sure it wasn’t an issue. The order came in wrong and instead of reordering at no charge she charged us for a replacement piece! My husband is a nice guy didn’t want to argue about it. Then she gave us two referrals for bathroom contractor. The first one we called never got back to us. The second one ended up doing a below average job. Busted a water pipe, tiled over a bathroom vent and cut the onyx crookedly. Lost the toilet parts and so on and so on! My husband had to stop the work. He’s now having to finish the job himself. We will never use Home Budget Supply again!

For the most part, I like BHS, right now I'm trying to plan a deck project and the online store doesn't provide any info as to what is in stock or have pricing. Upgrade your website please.

It's hit or miss with customer service, most days the in-store and warehouse/lot employees are helpful and friendly.

I was in yesterday and the guys at the back desk were less than enthusiastic, no offers of help, they responded to questions only minimally. I felt like I was a burden to them instead of a customer willing to spend my hard earned dollars there. One didn't seem to want to get out of his chair to bag my purchase, like I was gonna just carry a dozen small items in my hands.
Everyone has their bad days, it's understandable, but geez!
Might as well go to Home Depot or Lowes.

I posted this 2 weeks ago and no reply from management.
I bought my decking from them a week after posting this, the sales person was a little more helpful when they figured out I was going to spend a lot of money.

I actually, thoroughly enjoy browsing this hardware store. Store brand? Nah. Inescapable corporate branding? Get outta here. They sell quality hand tools from reputable brands plus a ton of products you won't find anywhere else. The lack of a searchable website kept me from visiting for a while, but I wish it hadn't. This is now my go-to hardware store in Longmont.

One suggestion: you guys should consider stocking Warwood Tool! I personally love their stuff, made in West Virginia, and would buy more of it if I could find it locally.

Visiting budget home supply I was shockingly surprised with the level of customer service. I am a contractor and I must say I was very happy. Bob that works back in the decking department is one of the most helpful and courteous people I have everhad the pleasure of dealing with! 5 stars for Bob!!!!

The cabinet department was great. The door department was a mess. We gave them our architectural plans. They messed the order up. They are the experts. They had sizes wrong fortunately I caught those. They ordered 4 sets of doors instead of 4 doors. How are we supposed to know that a double door is not 2 doors? They are supposed to be the experts. They requested our arch plans. They will not take back the extra doors we paid for from their mistake. We are out $1700! They are not professional. They are not willing to work with us after we spent $82k with them. Stay away from this business! Experts they are not!!

The one thing I was looking for, after looking at Home Depot and Lowe's, I found at Budget! Next time, I'll make budget my FIRST choice!

You'd be better off smashing your head into the parking lot outside than bothering trying to get anything from this place, most importantly customer service. Tried to get the guy to even consider helping me do an order for a product and he could not make excuses and lie fast enough. "Never hear of them." "We don't do business with them." "We don't carry their products." They have hundreds of products from this company taking up one half of an entire aisle, but this guy could not possibly be bothered to pretend to care. This place was good before the old man died, not is is a useless dump, filled with useless people.

Budget home supply has a very good range of lumber products to choose from including LP siding. Very good range of fasteners as well as knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Really great source for cedar lumber. Not the cheapest maybe, but they are a family business and are super nice to work with. Will definitely shop here again.

Will NOT ACCEPT Returns even when completely wrapped in original packaging!!
We bought 4 sections of metal railing and seven posts with anchors. Could not do the installation due to concrete issues but Budget wouldn't take them back. I've spent thousands of dollars here and have even had my home improvement contractor shop here as well as it is a local business. NEVER AGAIN!
UPDATE: So I bit the bullet and started to install these only to find that the clown that sold me this stuff sold me 1/2" wedge anchors when the attachment holes on the posts are 7/16". The place is a circus, stay away.

An absolutely AMAZING hardware store ALL around!!! I have NEVER had a bad experience at this store, and I started coming here when I was just a very little girl!! This is a locally owned business and they are hands down the BEST!!! From the very kind people who work there, to the great quality, selection and service help!!! I just can’t say enough wonderful things about them!! I recommend this store to EVERYONE!!!!

Good selection of tools. However I was accused of stealing tools from an employee. I paid for the tools, then walked to the back of the store with the tools (and receipt in plain sight) to use the restroom. He followed me back there and accused me of stealing when I came out of the restroom. Little advice to the older white man that accused me of stealing… don’t assume unless you know. Probably not coming back here again.

Made a phone order for a custom lumber cut and picked it up perfectly done! Incredible customer service. Looking forward to next visit!

Great small business. If you need it, they probably have it. Outstanding kitchen and bath department. Best deck place in Colo. And if you need radon mitigation, this is the place.

Went in to find a screw I needed. The manager approached me..he proceeded to berate me and belittle me and my wife. Took a minute to figure out that he completely hated my existence in the store. I decided to forget it and went to Home Depot instead. His name was Bob Lee. Treated us like we weren't even human. Will never go back.

I got boned by Home depot and they didn't get the cabinet supports I needed in time for my counter install and told me the day I needed them. I called Budget and Valerie answered in one ring and says "we don't have any in stock but let me find them for you" she then spent 2 hours talking to venders and found a store in Denver with the exact thing I needed. I had it 2 hrs later, if they go this far for someone who isn't even a customer I can't wait to be one.

They are a tad pricey but that is to be expected with a smaller, local establishment that sells a superior product. Fantastic customer service.

Locally owned, amazing service, friendly staff, great design staff, good prices and quality materials...and not crowded!! I absolutely love this place. I love that I don’t need to go to the awful big box stores anymore!

I like Budget a lot. The quality of their Lumber is better than the big box stores and they do have a wider range of construction esoterica then the big boxes stock. Their contractor sales department is knowledgeable.

I love Budget home supply. In general they're more like a hardware store depending on what kind of part you need. I have been using them for pressure-treated and deck material. They are the best in the northern Colorado area. If you're building a deck or porch or pergola. Go to budget.

Such a hidden gem. I live south in the Broomfield / Westminster area and it's hard to find a good, local lumber yard. Everyone I spoke to was eager to help and very friendly. BHS is at the front of the line for any future lumber needs!

I do not recommend this supplier if you are a General Contractor. This place has horrible customer service. Their return policies are horrible as well. Do yourself a favor and do business with either Boulder Lumber, County Line Lumber out of Erie, Stockyards out of Denver or any other professional supplier. There is no reason to do business with Budget Home if you are looking to buy in bulk.

The budget home Supply is a great place. We were doing a deck project and Virginia Stees at Budget home has helped us choose the right deck board and even helped us with our design. The major helped was calculating the number of decks and material for us and shipped out the right material. The Budget home was very quick to replace some defective deck boards. We didn't have to worry about anything, which doesn't happen big chain stores. Virginia also managed some of the last minutes changes in our deck design. I would highly recommend this family owned business to anybody with home projects. Thanks Budget Home

Pros: Good Prices, Helpful Staff (once you get into the store where they're behind counters working.)

Cons: Very Surly Cashier, Unclear Signage, No Mask Requirement (even witnessed an older gentleman - customer, not staff, to be clear - coughing and hacking ALL OVER a counter and complaining about a "respiratory thing" he's got . . . Cashier did not wipe down counters or anything when he walked away. )

Very nice store for lots of years! Their kitchen/bath area including tile is likely the best in the city! We were treated great by Valerie in my wife's many trips to figure out our tile and everything was seamless to the pick up. Definitely give them a shot as they are NOT a big box store. This is a large store, but locally owned and well managed. We highly recommend it!

Arlo, Brandon, Gary, and Nathan were very helpful. Took time to explain everything well and helped find what was needed. Clean and spacious store. And they do repair and finishing services also!

Budget has a drive through lumberyard, load directly into your truck, no loading on to a cart and waiting in line and then out to the parking lot. Rarely do I wait in line at Budget, I'll take budget over Depo or Lowe's any day.

If you remember what a hardware store was 20+ years ago, before the big box orange and blue places came into existence, then this is the place for you. Yes, it is a throwback, but because of exceptional customer service, it is in the best ways possible. You won't feel pressured to sign up for a credit card with every checkout, nor will you hear super nanny messages on the store radio about keeping young kids in check. So slow down and accept this is an actual hardware store that values quality over quantity. Yes, you possibly will pay a touch more, but that difference is in the value of having your exact needs met and listened to. Bonus is that absence of feeling like you are a sheep rushed in to check out.
