I did a lot of research before hiring Buckley Roofing to retrofit my warehouse’s metal roof with TPO. Buckley Roofing specializes in commercial single-ply roofing only, which makes them very good at what they do. They have a full-service sheet metal shop to fabricate all the flashing, gutters, and downspouts. All their employees are W-2 employees, so the expertise is maintained from job to job, unlike most roofing companies that hire primarily 1099 contractors. I went up to the roof everyday to inspect their work during the project. As we all know, leaks usually happen at the joints. Every joint, every detail was according to technical requirements and schematics of the TPO manufacturer. They don’t cut corners, and they don’t do guesswork. Everything is according to the books. I went with 80-mil TPO fastened the Rhinobond and Ecostorm coverboard. The 80-mil thickness costs more than 60-mil or 45-mil but provides added protection. Resistance to hail damage is a high priority for me since Wichita gets a lot of hail. I chose Ecostorm coverboard for its high compressive strength which will make the TPO membrane resistant to hail damage. Most hail damage is due to deformation of soft coverboard – so don’t use Styrofoam or Poly-iso as coverboard. Hard coverboards such as Ecostorm and DensDeck will resist deformation so the TPO membrane will not be dented/stretched during hail strikes. There are YouTube videos that show how hard coverboards protect single-ply membranes from hail damage. Buckley’s quote wasn’t the lowest and wasn’t the highest. I chose Buckley because I am the building owner, and I plan to occupy the building for a long time, so I put a high value on quality and longevity. My project manager was Adam Arnold. He was very professional, courteous, and prompt throughout the project. My superintendent was Augustin and my foreman was Cruz. I highly recommend Buckley Roofing if you are looking for single-ply roofing for your commercial building.
