Just before this past Christmas, an early morning rain resulted in a noticeable leak in one of our ceilings. Since our Phoenix house is now 30 years old, we chose three highly rated local contractors to examine our concrete tile roof and provide bids for either a partial repair of the leakage area or a full roofing renovation. Based on these contractor proposals and their diagnoses regarding the condition of our roof, decided to go ahead with a full re-roofing project—primarily due to the age/condition of the roof underlay system.
We selected Buck Mountain Roofing for this major project. Their cost proposal was both reasonable and competitive—plus Buck Mountain had accomplished several prior re-roofings of homes in our area with glowing compliments from our neighbors. In addition, we were impressed by Buck Mountain’s owner, Mr. Brian Yoder—his professionalism, expertise, and ethical standards were clearly obvious. Moreover, Buck Mountain offered a 10-year warranty against leaks and complimentary yearly inspections during the warranty period.
Buck Mountain accomplished the complete re-roof our home in an extremely exemplary manner. Their work crews were quite knowledgeable and performed their duties carefully and thoroughly. They did not rush the job. They worked Saturdays and finished the job on our large roof (5,185 square feet) to our full satisfaction in two weeks’ time. Despite the fact that our original concrete tiles were discontinued and no longer available, Mr. Yoder was still able to procure new replacements closely matching the color of the originals that were cracked/broken. He blended the new tiles in with the originals in a seamless manner. Buck Mountain’s workers also uncovered previously unknown issues with termite affected and rotted plywood areas underneath the original underlay and fixed them so they would no longer be problems. In addition, they corrected improper workmanship from another roofing company that had performed a partial repair on our garage roof several years ago.
Another recommendation of Mr. Yoder was to replace our old-style dormer and ridge attic vents and install numerous newer technology O-Hagin vents—with which we agreed. This will serve to improve attic ventilation and hopefully lessen our cooling costs a bit during our blazing hot Arizona summers.
All roof exhaust vent pipes were replaced as well. Plus these and the new O-Hagins were painted to closely match our tile color.
Roofing projects involve considerable tear down and removal of debris. The Buck Mountain crews cleaned up all around our residence after each day’s work—so this was never an issue.
All in all, commendable, meticulous attention to detail.
The bottom line: completely satisfied, highly recommended!
Brian was on time and completed the project in less then a day. Great work, this is the 3rd time I have use Buck Mtn Roofing on 3 different houses. I wouldn't use anyone else.
Buck Mtn. is truly an outstanding company ! The workmanship was fantastic . Bryan and his team were kind ,efficient , and extremely talented despite the harsh working conditions they encounter everyday. I can't remember seeing such talent and ability in any of our remodeling projects . I noted the attention to details I would have missed and pride and concern for his customer. My wife and I feel very lucky to have had Buck Mtn. care for our home !
