Brattleboro Subaru

THESE PEOPLE ARE MISLEADING! I used Cars.com's instant offer tool on a vehicle I was looking to sell outright (None of this was Cars.com's fault), the offer I got was $10,500. I ended up walking in the dealership expecting maybe to get $7,000 but no the offer they gave us was $2,000 due to some transmission code. Obviously I thought this was very cruel, I ended up then using the CarMax appraisal tool and they offered $8,400 and drove the vehicle over and they only took off $2,000 for some things I missed in the appraisal. So I ended up selling the vehicle for $6,400 which was very fair because I knew the vehicle needed some work. In my opinion to offer $10,500 to then actually getting offered $2,000 is misleading, unethical and is very much a bait and switch type of scenario. I would highly recommend CarMax and WOULD NOT recommend doing business with Brattleboro Subaru. If they can do it to me, they can do it to you.

We had been driving 40 min to Brattleboro to get our old Subaru serviced so when it was time to get a newer car we didn’t think about going anywhere else. John McClean, sales, was very helpful and ethical and helped us get the perfect car at a great price.

I had front bushings done and still felt a vibration through the steering wheel- brought it back and they found the tires needed balancing. Disappointed they didn't find that after they drove it after the bushings but fixed the wheels as well. Otherwise they are 5 star

Dan and the team did a great job of finding us a car that fit our needs. We had a minor maintenance issue right afterward which the service department addressed quickly and for free. I was provided a loaner car for that time. We have now bought two cars from Brattleboro Subaru and would happily go back for our next purchase.

Bought a used vehicle here. Vehicle was priced well, sales person (Tom) was low/no pressure, kind and relatable. Did not enjoy my experience with the finance manager, whose attempts to sell me extended warranty and random other third party protection products were extremely heavy handed with guilt, shame and pressure. He was over the top. Something to beware of if you’re newer to buying cars from dealers - if you’re feeling guilted and shamed, walk away.

I have been going to Brattleboro Subaru for years and would recommend them over any other dealership. The staff is great there and keep you informed of everything being done with your car.

Let's start with my sales person not informing me that he was off the day I was to pick up my car. Then when I called to find out if it was ready to pickup I was met with attitude because I asked to speak with a salesman . I spoke with a female receptionist who in formed me my salesman was off and would I like to talk with someone else in sales. I said yes and was put on hold . After waiting for about 3 min a female picked up rattled off the Bratt subie and asked how could she be of help I said I was waiting to speak to a salesman she said "I'm a sales person but I can get a man if you prefer". I was surprised and said she'd do and she came back with "are you sure? I can get you a male sales person if you prefer" I'm not on the defensive because she was upset because I used the wrong identifier. First off, after that length of hold time I thought it was the receptionist again. Second ,how about Hello sales dept my name is bla blah how many I help you? Then I could have just Identified myself and asked if she could see if I could pick up my car. stop with the attitude and need to correct people because your offended. Take my advice and answer with sales dept , service dept, parts dept,

Terrible dealership. The technicians that work on our overpriced cars "miss diagnosed" my car and then gave me a huge bill as if the car was fixed. I went to leave and the car STALLED on the way out and I went around the rotary and right back and got a whole run around from them. Save your time and headaches people and go anywhere else. $1145.00 all wasted.

My bad for not looking into their reviews for buying their inventory!
I came across them while trying to sell my car. They offered "$850 over book to get me out there" says acquisitions, (an hour and 10 min drive) aka they never intended on giving me that much. When I settle for way less on a GREAT car, I find out the check I was given cannot be cashed! Set up by the dealership through Chase Bank.
It took multiple calls to find a solution, even being told to deposit the check in my account and write a check for my replacement car and hope it works out. My options were to go back to Vermont, deposit it and wait 5+ days or pay a substantial fee at a check cashing place. It cost me almost $200 to cash the check.
Lesson learned

No hassle, in and out service. No asking me 10 billion questions. Just fixed my stuff, and honestly at that. Parts was a pleasure to work with vs every other subaru dealership around. Has my business now

This team is super helpful and friendly. They let me use their charger when the other locations in town were down. I was helped by 4 different people and everyone was genuinely kind and happy to help. I would highly recommend this business.

Sales & Service are highly professional. January 2025, after we test drove and selected a vehicle, the Salesman spent valuable one-on-one time teaching me the upgraded features of my new 2025 Subaru Forester. The next day, we autographed paperwork and I drove my new Forester home. My husband and I have been happy customers of Brattleboro Subaru for more than 25 years; we especially appreciate the excellent service and repairs of seven vehicles we have purchased. When the time comes, we plan to purchase our eighth vehicle from Brattleboro Subaru.

I knew I wanted a Subaru but I wasn't sure which one. I was allowed to drive the 2 models I had narrowed it to and given factual information on them without receiving any hard sell. I would highly recommend. There was no pressure - "you need to by this date"; "the prices will go up next weel", etc.

I received excellent customer service today from Jordan in service department. Just had tires switched for the season, alignment and a rusted clamp replaced. Jordan always is treats me and others with the upmost respect. His communication skills are absolutely the best. He always smiles and makes you feel like you are the only customer. Let’s face it, who likes paying for car repairs and maintenance, however Jordan helps make it a good experience.

I wish I could give a 10 star to Stephanie Ross. After a day of dealing with madness with toyota in keene NH we came over to subaru and explained our issue from the day and what we were looking for. Stephanie was very caring, got to know us in a kind way, and sold us a beautiful 2022 Subaru outback. She also went to the store to buy us a snack because we hadn't ate all day. I’ve owned Subaru’s for many years, having bought several from Brattleboro Suburb. My
Brattleboro Subaru Salesman has always helped me make the decision by the timing, talking through life style, needs and wants without pressure and having great patience with the process. The Service department has also been great listening to my concerns, keeping me on track. Very respectful, communicates well and never a problem with workmanship.

Brought my car in for a starter replacement. Due to an online booking problem (quite possibly my fault) I did not have a scheduled appointment. The next available appointment for this service was 2 days later. Jordan, the service representative gave me a loaner car so I wouldn't have to make another trip to the dealer (40 miles each way). He also, without me asking, called Subaru of America and explained that this was my 3rd starter in 65000 miles. Based on this SoA covered the cost of the starter so that my only charge was for labor. A significant cost saving!

This truly exemplifies the customer care policy of their service department.
