The manager who handles the administrative side of things, Dee, is an absolute delight and a warm, friendly individual. Cannot say enough good things about her. She said the owner John would call me the day of the appt while the team was here to confirm the details.
John's team arrived the day of the job and the team was friendly and punctual with the work for siding and gutter repair being completed to expectations.
When we discovered some front trim needed to be repainted as well and I had the paint can on hand from a previous home owner, this was completed too at no additional cost following a short phone call with Dee and with John.
The contractor team pointed out some additional problems they noticed after being up on the roof and said that these were not part of the quoted work for this job but John's team could take a look at them in the future.
If you're looking for reasonably costed work done to expectations for your roof, siding, gutters, or any other exterior work, I'd heartily recommend Boyd Construction for your needs and I won't hesitate to contact them again for future jobs.
We had a wet spot on our ceiling after a stretch of rain. I called Boyd b/c they did a job for me at another property a few years back and were fair with the price.
John came out to look at the problem, and I asked him if he wanted to take a look inside the attic to find the issue. He declined and said he'd just inspect from the exterior. He recommended standard maintenance because everything looked good from the ground. He assumed there were broken seals around the vent pipes. They did this repair work within a few days of the first visit.
After another round of heavy rain our ceiling was still getting wet. I decided to crawl in the attic to find the problem myself. I took pictures and video of visible water leaking into the attic and sent these to Boyd for review. John came back to look at the problem again, and recommended I either completely replace the roof, or replace half the roof. I was quoted around $9,000 for the work.
I sent the videos of the leak to two other roofing companies I found in the Howard County Service guide, and was immediately told the only issue was the ridge vent. Both said they were 100% sure I didn't need anything beyond that, and it was a standard problem.
I picked the top rated company in Howard County according to the service guide to do the work, and they charged me the same price to replace the entire ridge vent that Boyd charged for minor maintenance work the first time. I asked for part of my money back since they did work that wasn't necessary and they didn't fix the problem -- they declined that request.
I would avoid using them.
Edit in response to the owner's comment: the roofers that repaired the leak said my roof still had half it's useful life.
