We still call it a "camp", which it was when we bought it, but now it's so much more, after Randy and Borelli Builders transformed it into a beautiful lake house that never fails to elicit wows from first-time visitors. We explain our contractor was a carpenter who is really an artist dressed in carpenter coveralls. Randy was a joy to work with; full of creative ideas and meticulous craftsmanship. As a former studio furniture designer-maker, I liked to talk about the progression of expectations as you move along the continuum of working with wood. Starting with rough carpentry and framing, one rarely looks for perfectly aligned and precise joints, but as one moves along to finish carpentry, and then to built-in furnishings, and finally to fine stand-alone furniture, one expects a very different level of craftsmanship and precision. Randy's work does not always follow those norms, and he surprises us with how he blurs these distinctions. We could not be happier.
