We recently had a renovation completed by Blue Hen Construction which consisted of the kitchen, two bathrooms and a deck transformed into a screened in porch. They did an amazing job and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Very professional, always available to answer questions and their work was top notch. I would highly recommend Blue Hen Construction if you are in the market for a renovation or a new build, you won’t be disappointed.

Starting our journey of building our dream home in the middle of a pandemic wasn’t exactly an ideal situation. With a lot of uncertainty and price increases in the building industry, Blue Hen Construction did an incredible job from start to finish guiding us through the entire process! Laura did an awesome job helping us make all our selections and making sure our house plan was exactly right for us. Not only for our growing family now, but making sure that our house would always feel comfortable and spacious for our forever home! We couldn’t have asked for a better team to help make this process so enjoyable. Gary and his son’s craftsmanship and attention to detail on their work is unmatched. Also, big shout out to Brooke for always answered our calls and questions no matter what time of day! All in all Darrin and Laura with Blue Hen Construction is who you want to call, whether it’s for building your dream house or remodeling your existing home to last a lifetime!

We can not speak highly enough about Blue Hen Construction! Their team worked through a covid build on time and at budget. There were a few bumps in the road, like any construction project, that were handled extremely well. They always returned emails and phone calls and we always felt they had a handle on things. Their follow-up and attention after the build is equally, if not more, impressive.

If you're going to build, build right. Utilize local pros with a local network to get the job done right. The craftsmanship speaks volumes and you'll be happy you decided to work with a knowledgable team of builders and craftsmen.

We had a devastating house fire October 6 2018. Our home was only 18 months old and Ryan Homes told us that they do not rebuild homes. They gave us a name of a builder but we got it wrong. We looked up Blue Hen by accident! That was the best mistake we ever made. We called 2 home builders and Darrin came right out. Darrin and Laura were so easy to work with. They walked us through the entire process. Laura was a Godsend as far as picking out interior cabinets, door tile etc.
The quality of work was unbelievable. All of our neighbors said so. Any changes we wanted to make were fine and costs of the changes were given to us upfront..
I could go on but the bottom line is that if you want a quality home build, go with Blue Hen Construction. If we were to build another home we would without question call Darrin and Laura.

Did an excellent job building a home office, installing a septic system and well, and general repairs required by the mortgage company. They worked hard to get things done as soon as possible. The owners were personally involved in all steps of the project and they had wonderful staff.

We chose Blue Hen to build our home and it was truly the best and easiest decision. The entire team were great to work with, super responsive and with us every step of the process. We have used them since then for an addition of a screened porch and have recommended them time and time again to friends and family.

Laura, Darrin, and the rest of the Blue Hen Team were excellent to work with! Although there were a few hiccups along the way as there is with any construction projects, they both were very attentive to the situations and addressed them quickly bring rapid resolution the problems that arose. We have had 1 issue since our house was built, it was a leaking spot on the roof which come to find out was a leaking vent boot. The Blue Hen team sent out the roofing contractors immediately and fixed the issue the next day. Overall the construction quality of our home is excellent, it is very energy efficient, and it is a very beautiful home! I recommend Blue Hen to any and all friends/family that are lookin to potentially build and/or remodel their homes as I would trust them to do this all over again!

Blue Hen Construction built our New construction . When planning and designing a new home the process can be very difficult but Laura and her team made the process very easy . I was very thankful for her advice and guidance . Their design studio is a great resource . The process of home building was easy and everyone at Blue hen was easy to work with and very patient with us as we made decisions . I would definitely recommend them to everyone . The quality of our home is unbeatable and we look forward to making many memories in our new home !

When building your dream home, you want to work with someone who understands and shares your vision. You need someone who is flexible, willing and able to work with you to make that dream come true. Someone with the experience and the team of craftsmen and resources in place, who are professionally committed to get the job done right , able to react to changes and go above and beyond to make the customer happy. This was our experience with Darrin, Laura and their team. They worked with us, remaining patient and engaged as we worked through the plans to make sure we got it right, with suggestions and input to help us along the way.
