Blair Exteriors

I have been very pleased with the work of Blair Exteriors. Many years ago I needed.a creative solution to a problem with my house. The issue was related to hardy plank siding and the original installation. I identified a potential solution and Dan Aycock and his crew implemented the change. The solution worked.
Years later in a different house I sought Dan and Blair Exteriors for a similar issue. The results were the same. The problem was solved and I was very happy. Long story short… Blair Exteriors does good work.

Blair is an excellent company with exceptional service! Most recently, we had an existing deck removed & a screened in porch addition. Dan walked us through EVERY detail of the project & truly brought our vision to life! We could not be more pleased! They take a lot of pride in their work & make you feel at ease knowing your home is in the best hands! We have also used Blair for roofing & window replacement. Again, could not be any more pleased. They are always quick to respond & a company we trust!!

We have use Dan and Blair for multiple projects around our house, roof, window replacement, deck/roof/screen addition....and have been very impressed with the communication, professionalism, attention to detail and timelyness of completion. Dan and the whole Blair crew did an amazing job for us. Tornado damage required roof work, a complete re-side and all new windows. They delivered excellent work on time at a fair price. Recommend without reservation.

I began gathering quotes for windows over 2 years ago, and finally landed with Blair. Some companies were thousands higher in price, double in fact, for what seemed to be close to the same type windows? Then a client told me about Blair. I had metal windows before and they replaced them with beautiful, modern, double-hung windows I can now be proud of that will last because they come with an awesome warranty! I am a stylist and will be telling all my clients where to go for their windows!

Our story is about purchasing our home from a couple that had their roof redone by the company about a year before we purchased. After about six months, we called to ask a question, and we were informed that the warranty would not be honored because the former owners did not contact about moving and changing over the warranty. So I would highly recommend anyone not do business with this company that would not uphold something like a warranty and backup their work to a new home owner.

I did call back. Just letting people know do not use Blair Exteriors . They only cover five years of workmanship & when there’s an issue with the actual shingles it’s through whoever the shingle company is and it is up to the homeowner to go through that shingle company to activate the warranty and it is also up to the homeowner to notify if selling their home within 30 days otherwise the contract is basically void.

Blair Exteriors were fantastic! They were the most organized, professional, and courteous contractors I have ever worked with. They replaced all the windows in my home and we couldn't be happier. The window supplier was awesome too and they stand by their work from start to finish. I would highly recommend them for work in your home!

Cole was quick to respond and very good at communicating the issue. The repair was performed quickly and we had a great experience!

I contacted Blair Exteriors to replace the roof on my home. I was terribly disappointed. They almost destroyed our beautiful scrubs, which had been growing for 15 years, by throwing the old shingles off the roof onto our scrubs. It will take years to get them back to form. Instead of having brackets for their ladders they placed their ladders against our gutters scrapping the paint and bending the gutters. On top of that I noticed the workers standing on the gutters. I reported this to Dan Aycock, the Blair representative, and when he finally came by the house all he talked about was how he was going to do something about this in the future. They had the highest quote, but I wanted to support a local business and felt I would get a better job. I hate that I am writing this, but others should be aware. J K Baker

Had someone come out to give me a estimate and they never called back. I called the office and called his personal cell phone and still never recieved a call. It's been over a month. Obviously I said or did something he didnt like. I think cause I don't church

I worked with Cole Jones in getting a quote for our roof. Cole was responsive, on time, and thorough with his appointment, inspection and sitting down with us about the condition of the roof and options for a roof replacement.

Sandy followed up with scheduling the roof replacement and all the paperwork which was in fantastic order.

Blair showed up on the job, arranged for good weather (just kidding) and did what they said they would do when they said they would do.

The knowledge, expertise and quality was evident at the end and we are very satisfied with our roof. It has been four months and not a single leak and they also replaced our gutters.

It was a pleasure working with them.

In an age when everyone seems to have a bad story about finding a contractor, Blair Exteriors is a breath of fresh air. We needed a new roof - a project I was dreading. Blair made it easy and efficient. They are the consummate professionals. They arrived on time and worked until the sun set to get our roof on in a single day. Then they returned the next day to make sure everything was fully cleaned up. Make them your first call when you need work done on your house!

Sales: Jay was most informative. Shared many options with us and respected our budget limitations. He was never "pushy". Was able to find some affordable customization opportunities for us also. He kept in touch throughout the process, not just after the sale was made.

Financing: Jay also shared some financing options that were most helpuf.

Products; We purchased new windows, siding for the entire home, gutters, and chimney caps. Everything looks great. With the new windows and the additional insulation wrap that come with the siding, our electric bill has already shown an improvement (even with all the 90+ days we have had).

Workcrews: Russell, the project manager kept us up to date for the times the different crews (one for the windows and siding, one for the gutters, and one for the chimney caps) would come by and kept us up-to-date with the progress of each crew. The work was accomplished much faster than we anticipated. The crews were professional,well versed in their craft, unfailingly polite, and were very careful to check with us for anything out of the ordinary before proceeding. They answered any questions that we had and they were also very careful with their clean up everyday.

Bottom Line: I would recommend Blair and commend them for their excellent service.

I scheduled for an estimate to replace a damaged metal roof. The day they were to come out t received a call and was told Blair does not do metal roofs. I had told.their receptionist when I called that I needed repairs for a metal roof. The caller did apologize and stated the receptionist should have told me that before she scheduled the home visit. I waited two days for the appointment and this was time wasted. Now I'm back to square one. So disappointing

The salesperson contacted me and set up my appointment. When he called the day of my appointment he stated he lived in Hueytown and did not want to travel an hour across town nor he did he want to drive an hour an half back home. He then gave me an out of this world number and when I told him we received quotes much lower he said go with them. How rude! For a company to have 4.8 stars out of 5 one would expect better customer service.

We had a great experience with Blair. I did my homework and got quotes from 5 other companies, but Blair blew us away with their authenticity, local roots and competitive pricing. After getting a lot of quotes, it was clear that at our price point, all the windows were essentially the same quality with the same bells and whistles; it was the install that would really make or break the project.

I was confident that our windows would be installed correctly and if any issues were to come up, that Blair would resolve them. The install went smoothly, a little over a month after buying. We had metal windows and the guys took the time to cut them out by hand and ensure our new windows went in seamlessly. Instead of just throwing up wood surrounds, they capped the windows with custom aluminum before sealing it all up.

From beginning to end, Craig Blair was very patient in walking through everything with us and ensuring we were informed and comfortable. I feel very confident in being able to receive service if anything goes wrong in the future. I highly recommend Blair.

Blair Remodeling replaced 26 of my old wooden double hung windows with Wincore vinyl windows. I first met with Craig Blair on April. He gave me a quote that same day. He was very patient and was definitely not in a hurry to leave, even though it was late in the day. He answered all of my questions. After I thought about it for a while he came back another afternoon to answer more questions and show the demo window unit to my wife. Again, very patient and in no hurry to be anywhere.

Made down payment in April. He said they would install in early June. That is exactly what happened. The install took only three days. They started on a Wednesday and finished on a Friday. The install crew consisted of three guys. They were extremely polite and cleaned up their mess each day.

There was only one major issue. There were streaks and smudges on every window. It looked like some kind of sealant that was not cleaned off during the manufacturing process. I met with the lead installer on Friday morning and pointed this out to him and asked that he clean the windows. He was very condescending and obviously did not want to clean the windows. He said he would but I knew he would not. I went back to work (my wife was home but said she would not enforce the window cleaning)

The project was finished when I got home Friday afternoon. The windows looked great but . . . You guessed it. There were still streaks and smudges on all the windows. Not wanting to be a pain, I tried cleaning the windows myself. The sealant was very difficult to remove. It would not come off with glass cleaner alone. I decided this should definitely be Blair’s responsibility.

I asked for a meeting with Criag Blair. We met the following week. He was very polite and patient. He agreed to have the windows cleaned and address a few other minor issues.

It took a while, and to be fair, I was out of town for a week but we finally coordinated on having the windows cleaned. The crew that did the installation came back out. They came while I was at work. My wife was home but declined to be the inspector. They finished cleaning about 3 PM. They waited for me to get home at 4:30. We walked around and inspected all 26 windows. There were a few touch ups but for the most part they did a good job.

In summary, I was very pleased and satisfied with the entire process. I will definitely use Blair Remodeling in for any future projects. Craig Blair is the best. I totally trust him and I know that he will do whatever is necessary to make sure I am satisfied. Hopefully, Blair will add cleaning the windows to their standard installation procedure.

Blair put on a new roof on our house after we discovered hail damage. They were a pleasure to work with through the entire process. They helped us pick out a new color and helped us decide on the GAF golden pledge warranty. The roof installation crew took time to answer my questions and did a great job. They were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. The new roof looks great and I am glad I went with the color change. They were a little slow getting to my last post installation punch list item but my overall experience with Blair was positive and they did what they said they would do and did a top quality job. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

The guys at Blair went far beyond the call of duty to fix my roofing problems in time to sell my house. They diagnosed the problem, found an economical solution, then did exactly what they said they would do. I highly recommend them.

I had previously wrote a review stating issues I had with the windows I had purchased from Blair due to leaking problems and would like to revise my previous review. The leak issue was finally fixed from another contractor and the windows that Blair installed for me were never the issue. They actually remained in excellent condition! My contractor said it was amazing that the windows weren't damaged at all because of the leak; which was due to poor trim and frame installation of Signature Homes. The quality and craftmanship of Blair Windows is top notch and I recommend them to anyone!

The salesman and installers were good but was delayed to weather. It rained on the day of install but they protected my roof and finished the install after the rain stopped. I would recommend Blair Remodeling to anyone.

We chose Blair to replace 29 wood windows with very nice modern vinyl windows - low e gas, double hung, reflective coating, etc. The sales team was patient, knowledgeable, respectful, and above all honest. The pricing was a very fair value for what we purchased. The installers were great to work with. Courteous, professional, & thorough. They took their time to do it right the first time and were focused on the job before them NOT trying to get to the next job! The exterior trim work was exceptional. Everything the salesman told me would be done was completed by the installers without me having to bird dog them to do it. Very happy we chose Blair.

Love my beautiful new roof! All my neighbors are talking about the efficiency of the crew. They can't believe it was a one day project. Everyone arrived on time and worked safely. Excellent support staff in the office setting up the installation date and selecting the matching shingles!

One Star is one too many. I contacted this roofing company 1st. Mainly due to the glowing reviews here on Google. They're HIGHLY overrated I can say that with full certainty. I set an appointment with them, and was told someone would be out. It rained that morning but was going to clear later in the day but he canceled. Said he'd be out the next day or two. Four-five days later I write and ask "where you at?" so he says that he had "other appointments to take care of after I cancelled." I CANCELLED?? It RAINED. Ok, says he's coming out again... 10 AM. At 4:30 he finally gets around to emailing me and says that he's "running behind" and not going to make it. So giving the benefit of the doubt I allow him to reschedule yet AGAIN for Monday 3/12, again at 10 AM. No show, no email, no call. I don't care if he would do the job for $1,000 less than anyone else, I'd never use Blair for anything including roofing my dog kennel.

Sometimes it's not doing the job 100% right that signals a great company, it's what they do when something goes wrong. This past spring, Blair Remodeling put a new roof on our house. The job went well and the roof seemed fine, but in the months afterward our cars got 3 flat tires from roofing nails; one tire was so damaged we needed to buy a new one plus a mate for it. Here's where I give high marks to Blair: they responded quickly, didn't argue or try to blame somebody else, and immediately compensated us for the damage. This is why I would recommend them. In this life nothing is perfect and things do go wrong, even for the best of us. If you go with Blair you can rest assured that they will stand behind what they do and take care of you, whatever happens.

Exceptional service and selection of products. Installers were professional and timely. On-site supervisor reviewed work and any corrections were promptly made before leaving for the day. Craig Blair was on top of the project from pre-sale to post job completion.

Blair Remodeling did an excellent job replacing the roof on one of my commercial properties. The job was very professionally done in a speedy manner. The crew cleaned up the area as if they were never there. The contract explicitly stated some shrubs or plants may be damaged due to the nature of the work. The building is surrounded with ornamental shrubs and trees. They took extra care to make sure nothing was damaged. The job, the quality of the material, the speed the work was completed and the value for my money makes me happy to recommend Blair Remodeling. In fact, shortly after my job was completed, I had the opportunity to suggest to a friend to work with them on his remodeling project. He picked them and I followed up with him a couple weeks later to find he too had the same outstanding results. I highly recommend Blair Remolding.

Blair Remodeling did a great job restoring my house. My house was built in 1952 so it was very important to me to preserve the old world charm of the house. Blair Remodeling replaced wood siding with James Hardie plank siding. They were able to match and install new windows that are identical to those that were original to the house. They also replaced the roof. All of this was done without jeopardizing the character of the house and preserving the integrity of the structure. I will definitely use them again for future remodeling projects.

Can't say enough about the team at Blair. They are without a doubt the most professional craftsmen around. From start to finish the job was extremely smooth. They show up when they say they will and the new windows we had installed are worth every penny and look fantastic. Extremely happy with the results and I highly recommend Billy and his team!!

Billy and his crew were fantastic from beginning to the end and beyond. Billy is so easy to get in touch with - such a rare quality. He is super responsive, and he does what he says and in the time frame he specifies.

Being in the construction industry for over 10-years, I was not expecting how thorough and clean his crews were. I was majorly impressed with Mickey and the crew. They did a fabulous job on the roof, going above and beyond to make sure that any issue was taken care of. They really take a lot of pride in their work, and it shows.

Their whole team has been on-point with any concern after the initial install. Billy was fantastic in handling the claim with the insurance company. He definitely knows what he is doing and made everything super easy for us. We are super satisfied with the office and the field staff.
