I asked for a quote from Black Tie Builders for new gutters and gutter guards since my neighbors used them for a much larger project including siding, new roof, a replacement window as well as gutters and they were happy with their work. I did get a quote from another contractor. I asked for a quote on a Wednesday and Jamie came out on Thursday and I had a detailed quote by the end of the day including a discount for paying cash / check. I accepted their quote because their quote was less but I liked their product better, gutter guards than the other contractor. I asked Jamie to come back to pick out the color which they did the next day Friday and scheduled the work for Tuesday. On Tuesday they showed up on time, completed the job in approximately 5 hours and cleaned up. The next day Jamie came back out to inspect the work and make sure we were happy. After the inspection I paid them. Accordingly, I was very happy with the their process, their work and would certainly recommend them to friends, family who need work done.

I had some siding removed from my house due to the storms that pass through Indianapolis couple of weeks back, I started looking for exterior construction companies to fix my damage. We reached out to Black Tie Builders right before our house went on the market when we discovered some wood rot on the facia batons and to clean the gutters and freshen up with some paint. It was extremely short notice, but Joel and his team were out within the week and even worked on Saturday to get the work done before our house hit the market on Monday. Black Tie Builders rebuilt the top third of our chimney in one day for less than half of the cost of our other two estimates. They did a great job and the workmanship is first rate! After fixing the chimney, they replaced trim that was badly weathered and painted all the appropriate areas to match the rest of the house. Everyone was so polite and kind, and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

They installed a rear door at my house which opens out onto our patio. Turned out the door size was non-standard & it is surrounded by brick. They contacted a door manufacturer that quoted a custom door size as wood, steel or fiberglass. It was nice to have multiple options to choose from. Door is now installed. All good. I will be using Black Tie Builders for future projects.

Black Tie Builders were really good to work with. When they came out to give us an estimate for a repair to our chimney and the siding wrapping it, they were the only ones who actually went up a ladder to evaluate what needed to be done. They found significant rusting on the cap in addition to the wnmind-damaged siding, and gave us a really reasonable quote for the work.

They came out again to remeasure for a custom chimney cap and ordered it right away. As soon as they had it they were out to install. They left our patio completely free on any trash so the only way you could tell they had been was a slight rearrangement of the patio furniture.

They sent us photos of the completed work on top of the chimney AND stuck to their quote.

Black tie put new aluminum siding on my home, as well as new trim around windows and doors, put in several new windows, and also did many other small jobs on my home in the process. You don't really know how good a company is until there is an issue. We had a tricky problem w/moisture in our attic. Black Tie assessed it and made a repair that did not fully resolve the moisture. When notified, they came back, re-assessed it and went above and beyond our expectations to make it right. This is the true measure of a company!! I've already hired them for another project!

I was so glad there is a reputable company that is willing to do small jobs as well as large ones. We had a few damaged wood trim areas on our house due to weather and woodpeckers. Black Tie was willing to take this on and did a great job matching the wood and paint. Luckily, I still had paint chips from the previous painting and going just a shade lighter we were able to match the painted areas nearly perfectly! This really kept us within our budget. Black Tie also itemized our repair tasks so if we had needed to let lesser important repairs go, we could have done. We were able to get one more task in and still came under our projected budget for their work. The carpenters were prompt and dedicated to task. They were neat and respectful of our property.
