We had a great experience using Best Roofing to replace our 20 year old roof. Working with Ty was wonderful. He took his time to carefully explain to us all that needed to be done. Ty is very detail oriented person and picked up on the smallest issues that needed to be addressed (for example, how to get the materials on the roof and work around the power lines coming into the house.) He laid out everything before we signed the contract and when the roof was completed there were no surprises added to our cost. Ty was on site each day and great to work with. We used Best Roofing of Virginia because we had watched them install our neighbor's new roof a while back. When we called, we spoke with Ty Cox. He immediately scheduled a satellite examination of our roof. The next day, he came to our home with a detailed report. He took his time and answered all of our questions and helped us to understand the information. He gave us great suggestions about products and which colors and styles would complement our siding and trim. He was able to give us a real vision of what it would look like. The roofer was on time for my estimate but unfortunately his words and actions were very contradicting. As he looked through my house for any signs of leaks in the ceiling since my roof needed replacing, he talked me through the process but he kept shaking his head and huffing and puffing. I let him read my home inspection when I purchased my house so he can see what was said about an old water stain. As he read through it, he started rolling his eyes and made it seem like it was critical. I asked him “what’s the matter?” And he ignored me, continuing to shake his head as he was reading.. shortly afterwards, when he finished inspecting my roof, he of course pointed out what was wrong with it and what his company will do. He told me to sit down next to him so he could have a talk with me. He started off with “my heart goes out to you-“ so I assumed it was very serious. I was told that the roof can not be repaired and will need to be replaced and that my specific issue will NOT be covered by insurance. He pulled out his calendar and said he was going to put me in for a day the next week and that he’d have it down by the next Wednesday. This would have not been an issued if he had asked me if I wanted to move forward first instead of proceeding to add me to his calendar. I told him I needed time to look through everything and consider what’s best for my budget and he told me he NEEDED my answer by the end of business day the next day, also saying he will give me the lowest price he can and throw in more of the wood pieces that go on the roof into the deal for free (I don’t recall what it was called) but he needed my answer within 24 hours. He seemed very caring but I was skeptical because of the insurance part. So I called my insurance and they came out here and told me they will cover everything including the old water stains inside. For somebody who has been in the business 10+ years, I should not make false statements about anything (in my case, the insurance). I get people don’t know every single thing, but for someone in business for YEARS, this is something that should have been known. So it’s led me to believe that he took advantage of me being a young 23 year old female with no knowledge about roofs. Especially with the strict time limit he gave me and how passive aggressive he was pretending to care so I could believe him.

A previous roofer had done a poor job in installing our roof unfortunately so I had to get it replaced. Contacted Best Roofing of Virginia based on the excellent ratings and comments received on line.

Ty came out and provided a very professional and detailed explanation of what the previous roofer had done wrong and how Best Roofers would correct the problem. He provided a detailed estimate at a competitive price. I received a few other estimates but Best Roofers appeared to be the best choice so I went with them.

They were able to do the work within one week's time which was critical in light of the fact that our roof had serious problems and a storm that was part of Hurricane Ian was approaching. They did the work in two days and did a great job. Ty and his crew kept me informed of what they were doing and why they were doing throughout the process.

The roof was test almost immediately as we received heavy rains and strong winds starting the day after the job was complete. I'm happy to say the roof held up great with no leaks and no problems. Two months later the roof is doing fine and I'm glad it is no longer a problem.

I have been on a journey the past few weeks with a roofing company that absolutely shined with my 60+ year old home located in Larkspur neighborhood of Virginia Beach. I have dealt with many trades persons over the years as I have lived in this home for 30+ years. Over the years I have had 4 rooms added and remodeled 4 bathrooms by various companies large and small and/or construction handymen.

Search for the “Best”
My 12 year old roof had several leaks last year which I used a different company that repaired them but took almost a month to get them fixed. When those leaks appeared again recently along with others I decided to put a new roof on and new gutters. I contacted 3 roofing companies. I decided to take my time in choosing the company that would install the new roof and gutters. Two of the companies took almost a week to call me back when I used their online quote service. I already had a call back on the same day with the owner from the company that I eventually hired----Best Roofing of Virginia. The owner said he would send out Ty Cox, his best estimator, who would be the lead supervisor for my project. We agreed on a time that Ty would be out to my home.

Found the “Best”
Ty arrived at my home 10 minutes before our planned meeting. “Impressive start” as most in the construction business operates on or about a hour timeframe. I brought him into the attic to show the leaks and he wanted to see the wood planks 1”x 8” x 10’ that the main house frame had. I said I told him I was disappointed with the previous roof as I thought it should have lasted longer. We both went up on the roof and walked it and he pointed out many issues…After an hour of educating me about roof he said he would have a quote in two days..

Installing the “Best”
I talked with all three roofing companies about their quotes. Only Ty from Best Roofing of Virginia would go into detail on how/why he quoted a ridge vent system with additional soffits in the eaves over the box vents I had and the drip edge along the edges of the roof. I liked Ty’s attention to detail and his very respectful conversational manner. He emphasized he has used the same roofing crew for the past 9 years. On the morning of the install they were scheduled to start at 7am which all 11 of them were on time. Each of them knew exactly what they had to do and began without direction. I have a lot of roof space 4400sq ft and yet they finished the roofing job by dusk. They came back the next morning to finish some flashings and to do a through clean up job around the house and in next door neighbors yard for any loose debris. I had several wood planks/sheets that had to be replaced because of moisture or brittle because of age. During that process they would show me the wood and the location on the roof that they were replacing. Yes it added cost but their price for wood per linear foot was far better and fair than the other two quotes. A few days later the gutter installer came and measured for the fascia and gutters downspouts to be installed. Older homes can be a challenge which Ty saw that the main Eave board behind my garage was slightly bowed which would create a gap for water to run behind the gutter. Ty figured out a method to keep water from going behind the gutter which included additional time a small amount of stripping but no extra charge.

Recommending the “Best”
I have been through a rain storm and no roof leaks and the gutters are operating as they should. Ty is the type of person that takes pride in his work and he expects those that he supervises to do the same. You can see in the way that he takes time to listen to and explain the ins and outs of roofing, venting system, roof lines and gutters. Best Roofing of Virginia’s price was fair and in line with one of the other quotes. Ty responded to everyone of my text messages when I had a question or comment always on the same day. This company has my highest recommendation…Oh yea there is a military discount that the GAF manufacture will refund to you after your roof is registered

Ty with Best Roofing of Virginia came out and looked at our roof for a leak and found other issues and it required a new replacement asphalt shingle roof, Ty gave me a quote (Great price even for a disabled Vet) and a timeframe that was well within my schedule and comfort zone. Ty and the Crew came out a week later and within three days they had it wrapped up, they took care of our perimeter, bushes and yard before, during and after the work was completed, The Tugwell house will eventually be handed down and i can say that i am confident that it will last!

Unprofessional is an understatement when it comes to our experience with this company. We had issues with our skylight immediately after the roof was changed and we got the run around. The icing on the cake was that one of the workers backed into our house on the last day and damaged the stucco. These guys took no responsibility for the repair.
It has been 2 years since they installed our roof. We had a lot of rain in the fall and it is now leaking but nobody is even returning our calls and voicemails ( I gave them several weeks before finally leaving this review)
Furthermore, it is worth saying that I had previously left a bad review and then someone immediately called my husband and asked us to take it down. Makes you think twice about how this company has glowing reviews online.

We mostly dealt with Thanh Nguyen the estimator/Project Manager (he is not the owner) and he was absolutely fantastic - A+. We did have some communication issues with the owner which resulted in a delay in starting but not a major deal. My husband was out of town, told the owner this and gave him my phone number. I also spoke with the owner on the phone, emailed and texted my contact info. but he claimed he never received any of that, so the project didn't start on the original designated day. Their pricing was very reasonable, they offer a military discount, quality roofing with many color choices, GAF Silver Pledge limited warranty included. We're very happy with our roof and would highly recommend Best Roofing of Virginia.

Best Roofing of Virginia was an incredible company to work with! After receiving several quotes from various local roofing companies, we decided to go with Best Roofing because of their competitive prices and the project manager, Ty, was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions and gave thorough detailed answers to help us understand every step of the process. He made us feel confident that they not only knew what they were doing but also had our best interests at heart.

We were extremely pleased throughout the entire process. Ty went above and beyond to help us make an informed decision on the various options that would best suite our roofing needs. He was always available to communicate, respectful, on time, and positive to interact with.

It was also reassuring that the company owner, Don, stopped by to check on the work being done. We could tell he cares deeply that all their customers are completely satisfied with the results and process. The workers cleaned up after themselves and the finished product looks amazing! We are super happy with the result and despite replacing our entire roof including removing the old roof, putting on new wood panels, shingles and all other steps, they managed to get it done in only 2 days! The roof of my rental house was replaced by Best Roofing in 2004. They had given me the best of the estimates from 3 companies, but I chose inexpensive shingles which had a short warranty. The roof began leaking in 2021, more than 17 years after installation. Since I was very satisfied with Best Roofing’s work and price (I also had my primary home re-roofed by them in ‘04), I was happy to find that they were still in business. I called their office on a weekend night and they returned my call 2 minutes after they opened on Monday morning. The owner of the company met me 2 days later and once again gave the best estimate of the several roofers that I had called. Best Roofing of Virginia got the job and I expect to be once again very satisfied with their work. This time, however, I’m not going to make them use the cheap shingles – lesson learned.

These guys were professional on time and on budget. Super nice workers and they cleaned up!!! I mean really cleaned up after my yard almost looked better then before they came.

Military member formerly stationed in Virginia Beach, now out of state. I used Best Roofing to replace the roof on my home so I could list and sell. They were the fastest company to provide a bid of several competitors I called. Their bid blew the others out of the water by a wide margin during summer 2021 when construction material costs are through the roof, so to speak. They were flexible with doing paperwork and payment remotely, huge when trying to manage a property from thousands of miles away. Roof was completed in a day, to include replacement of several sheets of plywood. For this particular job I was a difficult customer since I wasn't able to be on site, but they accommodated my needs and got the job done. A roof isn't exciting to replace, but it's important. This team gets it done with speed, flexibility, and competitive pricing.

Very professional and hard working crew. Left my yard spotless before they left. I was very pleased with the finished product.

I just used Best Roofing of Virginia to replace our roof and they did an outstanding job. They gave me the lowest estimate and backed it up in their final price. We had some growth work when they removed they old roof but this was discussed and agreed to prior to starting the job. The crew started at 7:00 am and worked until 8:30 pm to finish the job. What a work ethic backed up by great customer service. All you can ask for is an honest days work at a fair price. I am a very satisfied customer.

Excellent job! The manager Thanh Nguyen performed the estimate while explaining everything without being pushy. He was helpful and communicated everything throughout the whole job from start to finish. I would highly recommend these guys! I only wish they did more than roofing.

First time I called, the owner answered the phone. We discussed my situation and he sent his best estimator to meet with me. They listened carefully to my concerns and provided a prompt, detailed and competitive quote. The workers were timely, polite, courteous and responsive to any concerns I had. During the installation, the estimator contacted me several times by phone and text for updates. Upon completion we thoroughly inspected the workmanship. I think they have a good organization
