We first became acquainted with Bergin's Handyman Services from a desperate need to have a high-end sofa's legs cut, and re-attached to fit through a narrow doorway. It was the only piece of furniture during a major move-in that while fitting through the front door did not fit through the interior doors to our living room. Elmer was the only service to respond after contacting several other furniture makers, unable or unwilling to help. Elmer did skillful job of cutting off the legs and refitting them as screw-on legs. He literally saved the day!

Then we learned what a truly talented jack-of-all-tradesman he is, not to mention being the kindest person too. We then used him for several other needs, including the construction of a full-wall, built-in library unit with closed storage, window seats and lighting for an office. Walls in a 200-year old house have many idiosyncrasies, but you could never tell it from his finished product! He is a godsend. And! He brings YOU coffee and muffins when he reports to work.

Mr. Bergin was AMAZING! I called him on Sunday. My husband and I were trying to install a new door in my son's new house in Wilton. We tore out the old one with no issues but when it came to installing the new one, the 144 year old house wasn't squared for an easy installation. Elmer Bergin came over within 20 mins of my call and within an hour had everything settled with the door and and we were able to secure the house.
Elmer was great and we were very grateful. He only charged us $50 and he even apologized for for that!
