We recently contracted with Rick to have some large windows installed, replacing sliding glass doors in our family room. We are delighted with the results. We've known Rick for over 30 years. We recently converted our asphalt driveway to concreate. This left our front porch in dire need of a makeover. I have used this business on two occasions: First to completely remodel my master bath and second, to repair a ceiling damaged by a broken pipe. Initially we called Rick for an estimate on replacing our deck. His presentation by far was the superior plan. We were not ready to start but I did need some gutter work completed. Rick installed larger gutters with gutter guards that have worked out fantastically. Almost a year later I called him back about the deck. Rick was very responsive and got back to us with an updated estimate. We had some challenges with trying to incorporate the new deck with an existing concrete patio. Rick came up with some great solutions and we decided a new patio was the best option. All throughout the process Rick would offer suggestions and advice. I had a hard time trying to envision what the end product would look like but Rick assured me we would love it. You can trust Rick, he knows exactly what he is talking about. Rick has done so many of these projects that he can exactly anticipate what could go wrong with an idea and guide you to a better solution. I highly recommend Before and After Home Improvements and I will definitely be using Rick again for my next home project.

Rick and his team were awesome! The price for the deck repair was very reasonable and the work was completed quickly and competently. Rick communicated everything we needed to do so that his crew could get started. We're very pleased with the work we had done to repair our deck, and the foundation painting!

Very pleased with the high quality of workmanship and professionalism. They did a beautiful job with our bedroom/bathroom remodeling which involved moving walls and closets. All of the workers were friendly, responsive and reliable. We will absolutely use Before and After Home Remodeling again in the future.

Rick did our front porch and walkway with stamped concrete. Looks even better than we imagined. Original porch had one very high step... difficult to manage. New porch has 2 steps very easy to manage.

We decided to redo the front steps of the house and do some front and back patio work in stamped concrete. After some research and asking around, B&A Home Improvement was recommended to us by a neighbor who had used them and we couldn't be happier with the result. They started earlier than Rick initially indicated, the guys were here until the project was completed and the attention to detail was wonderful. One of the common problems with any type of add-ons to a property can be the end result looking "tacked on" if they are not executed properly. The end result of this project looks as if it was original to the house. Very impressive. From a cost perspective, they were at or lower than other quotes so the value you get from Rick and his team is exceptional. Highly recommended.

The project at hand was a complete remodel of a large portion of our basement, including demoing and enlarging the bathroom (and moving plumbing), overhauling a bar (granite top, custom moldings/trim on bar and cabinets), over 1,000 sq ft of new penny tile, re-framing the bathroom and a portion of the bedroom, installing a custom walk-in shower, drywall and paint work, etc.

In summary, this wasn't the first time we've hired Rick and it won't be the last. The quality of workmanship is top-notch, Rick is extremely responsive, very flexible, lines of communication are constantly open, and he is genuinely a partner from design all the way through to the finishing touches. One of his fortes is coming up with creative and innovative solutions and he did not disappoint on this project. We are absolutely thrilled with the job Rick and his whole team did.

We hired Before and After Home Improvements to replace our raised splintered deck and stairs, plus enhance our simple concrete pad. From the first meeting, we were impressed by Rick Fisher’s breadth and depth of knowledge, be it Trex decking and RainEscape, or stamped concrete methods and choices. Throughout, he was helpful and patient, particularly when we had to decide colors and patterns for the patio and retaining wall. His crew started immediately, as Rick predicted, once we had our HOA approval, and they were stellar. They were courteous, respectful of property, very highly skilled, and detail-oriented (and proud of it). Any of the carpentry, electrical, concrete and masonry teams were very willing to answer questions we had, and make changes or recommendations if warranted. They communicated with Rick frequently, as well as during his daily site visits. Rick included us in those visits. Our deck and patio are now truly a Before and After ideally transformed realization. We contacted Rick to provide an estimate and recommendations for a challenging deck project. We needed to replace a spiral staircase on our deck with safer deck stairs in a tight space. He quickly came up with options and provided an estimate. His amazing team started within a few days and finished within 4 days. They always arrived early, were hard workers and were skilled craftsman. Not only did they solve the problem, but the stairs turned out beautiful! We will be using this company again for future projects.

We had the deck in our townhouse refurbished by Before and After Construction, and they did a great job. We are very pleased with the outcome; the deck is BEAUTIFUL! Rick Fisher and his crew were all professional; hard workers who knew what they were doing and were courteous and polite. They cleaned up everything at the end of the job. We were a little concerned that since the website showed some really large projects how the company would do with our more modest townhouse deck, but it made no difference, our job came out as nice as any we saw on the website.

Richard and his crew just completed a second job for me. Once again, the finished product was exactly what I asked for. They were professional, showed up when they said they would and completed the job in a shorter period of time than was expected. Impressive!

AMAZING! Rick and his team took our old, warped and splintered deck and walkway and turned them into showstoppers with a stamped concrete patio and walkway and by using trek decking which will last a lifetime! Our backyard looks completely transformed and stunning! Rick was very professional and knowledgeable on the products, materials, and current codes to bring our backyard to life! His team of workers were punctual, very hard working and thorough. They treated the job like it was in their own yard and showed great respect with keeping our property clean throughout the process. Deck Repair and Patio Installation. Five Stars!

Rick and his Before and After Home Improvement "All-Star Team" provided outstanding professional work in replacing the water damaged posts supporting my deck and the design and work to complete a stamped concrete patio, walkway, and front porch. Our property sits on a hill such that water from our neighbor’s yard drains into our own with some of it settling against our house under the deck. The deck was constructed about 20 years ago with part of the wooden posts buried in the ground. Although the wood was pressure treated, over time, the marshy ground had compromised the integrity of the deck support posts.

We had contacted several contractors to request proposed estimates. Some were unresponsive. Others would not fully address our concerns about correcting the water drainage and adding additional concrete to anchor the new deck support posts above ground. Rick was by far, the most responsive. He listened to our concerns and based upon his 45+ years of experience, provided several recommendations for correcting the damaged deck posts and the drainage issues on our property. He gave us a prompt and reasonable estimate.

His team went to work right away. We were so pleased with the results that we discussed the idea of the patio and walkway. Again, Rick listened to our ideas and provided excellent recommendations to move us to a beautiful design. Upon contract award, Rick’s team went to work immediately. Rick himself visited the site on a daily basis and communicated with us on the progress. When we suggested some changes, he was very flexible and responsive. All in all, we are very pleased with his work and would highly recommend his company for a top-quality product at a reasonable price!

All steps in the process were done exceptionally well and were flexible to accommodate our requests for adjustments during construction and finishing touches. A special shout out to Rick’s tile professional, Gary Cooper – his eye for design and tile placement made the finished project an eye opener!

Rick came through to help us solve a dilemma with our with a weird landscape issue. He built us a retaining wall and a subframe for our shed. He showed professionalism the whole time and took time out to coach his workers to ensure everything was done to standard. His personality shows he's an awesome person to work with. We wanted our sidewalk, front stoop, and handrails and railings installed. The initial consultation was very detailed and thorough. Work started quickly and the work and craftsmanship was outstanding. We definitely got a quality job and it improves the look of our house. Would definitely recommend this company.

I had Rick build a 12X16 sub-frame for a new shed. He gave me a fair price and completed the job on time. The quality of the work was great and he cleaned up the work site when he was done. I would highly recommend his services.

For example, we initially were thinking of 2 posts in the front of the deck, but Rick recommended 3 because then we could do the arches instead of just straight across. We love the arches and are SO happy we listened to his expertise. Once approved by the county and our HOA, the job was started within the week and moved along smoothly throughout. He was also able to help me think through some options for the finished project. His people got the job done fast, and exactly as described. He came by in person to review the work and ensure the site was completely clean. I'm not sure what else you can possibly ask for from a true professional like this. Rick and his crew did an AMAZING job rebuilding my deck. I work long hours during the week so he offered to come out during the weekend to do my estimate. His estimate was in the same ballpark as the other estimates I received but Rick was the only one who took the time to give me some ideas he had to make my new deck look better than the existing one. He added those options and it still came in at the same price as my other estimates without those options. Additionally, the craftmanship and attention to detail from Rick and his crew was amazing. We met with and received estimates from 4 contractors to install a stamped concrete patio. 3 of 4 of the estimates were relatively close in costs. We had additional conversations with the 3 contractors to discuss details. We also spent time reading all the reviews from various sources. In the end, we selected Rick Fisher, Before and After Home Improvements. We met with Rick twice before any work started to go over the project specifics (design, size, style, color, lights, etc.). Rick provided a few suggestions based on his experience which were very helpful, and we finalized the details including a start date. To our pleasant surprise, Rick and his team were able to start the project sooner than expected. The project took about a week and the work crew were respectful, professional and worked very hard. Each day, the crew took pictures to send to Rick for his review of the progress. Rick called us frequently during the project to see how things were going and if we were satisfied. During the project, I pointed out a few things and the crew addressed them immediately. Simply stated, our patio looks amazing and it was exactly what we wanted! We are very pleased with the quality of work and without question, would recommend Rick for your next project.

Shopped around for a while for a new deck/patio. I’m real picky and, frankly, was a little taken aback about the prices I was getting. (Maybe I’m cheap too!) But after a LOT of research (let me save you some time), I realized Rick’s price was very competitive. Which was all the more surprising considering the reviews for quality he has. So after my research we jumped in and in a month or so we had a beautiful new trex deck and poured/stamped patio. It really is stunning, and no doubt will increase my home value. You can tell it was done properly (everything from the deck supporting structure, to the patio rebar drilled right into the house foundation) the crew builds it all to last. Several friends of mine who are contractors have all said the same thing: “this was done right.” Which as anyone knows, for a contractor, is the highest praise one can give.

Rick Fisher and his men built us a very lovely sun deck and stamped concrete patio in our back yard along with a stone sitting wall and fire pit. Also, we had an old front walkway dug up and a new much larger stamped concrete walkway poured. Aside from many days of rain, the project was completed in a timely manner and really turned out terrific. It is just what we had envisioned, and we are very pleased and happy to get to enjoy our backyard more so than before. Many neighbors have stopped over and are "wowed". Rick and his team did an amazing job converting our backyard. I emailed him on a Wednesday and he called right back, came by on a Saturday morning to look at our ugly deck and rough paver stones and spent an hour with my wife and I going over stamped concrete options for the backyard. He figured out what was in our budget and promised to make it look great.

I got a call the following Wednesday that they had a schedule opening and could start the next morning. And that they did, bright and early, and when I got home from work that day, the patio was close to finished.

A couple more days of drying and applying the finish and sealer and everything, and here we sit, having them mulch our backyard and can't wait to get out there

After browsing through a lot of different contractors, My Wife and I decided to go with Rick and his crew and I can’t express how pleased we are that we did! First off, Rick transformed our daunting back yard into a suburban paradise. He is personable, professional and nothing short of a top notch contractor. The quality and craftsmanship he delivered is unsurpassed. His prices are spot on (better than most) and his turnaround time is literally breathtaking.. Him and his crew built a 20x14 screened in porch, a massive stamped concrete patio and installed a hot tub and vinyl fence in just 3 weeks; when every other (larger and more expensive companies) could only turn it around in a couple months. Additionally, Rick went above and beyond in helping us design the project and finding ways to save us money along the way. He was on site daily and his crew was personable and professional as well. Rick and his crew did a great job replacing the rear deck on our 1961 home. It was a difficult job with beams that were imbedded in the house. Rick figured out how best to make the new deck work. We used to have a canvas cover on the old deck. Rick gave us an innovating solution that continued the existing roof line to create a hard roof covered deck. No more bouncing snow off the canvas in the middle of the night. Rick does what he says he will do and if it is not right he will make it right. You can count on it.

R.J.Fisher built a deck with a pergola, a patio with a storage shed underneath the deck, and a walk in front of our house. The quality of the materials and the workmanship was excellent. Another major plus was the way that Rick worked with me to design the layout. I began with pretty definite ideas about some of the aspects of the design, but Rick suggested some design details that I would not have thought about. This job involved plumbing for outside water; electrical work for lights, fans, and heaters; and laying of stamped concrete for the patio and the front walk. All of the subcontractors did this work to a very high standard of quality.

We had our deck built a couple months ago, and have had no complaints in the quality, durability, or overall construction of the deck so far. The vast majority of the decks in our neighborhood were built by the developer's contractor, and there is a noticeable difference in quality between those decks and the deck built by Rick's crew. Being on a corner lot, the deck gets a lot of exposure, and everyone that passes by compliments how great it looks compared to other similarly designed decks in the area.

Rick uses Fiberon synthetic wood over the Trex that everyone else uses, and it makes a huge difference. I love the way the deck turned out, and looking back, I am glad our previous contractor failed to show up for the job.

The entire process with Rick was very friendly and he answered all the questions we had pertaining to the quality, construction process, and the different options he offers. He even brought us over to his own home to see the deck he built as a sample of quality and a general idea of how our deck would turn out.

Rick's price is unbeatable, as well. After having called over a dozen contractors, Rick had not only quoted us the lowest price, but the end product was beyond what the higher priced companies could even come close to. The end product looks much more expensive that the price we were quoted, and in my opinion, it is the little details Rick and his crew add in for free that set him apart from the competition. From the modern design to the small details of seam placement, covering screw holes, painting the posts, and many, many more small details the other companies all wanted to charge extra for Rick, for the most part, includes in the quoted price at no extra charge.

We are planning on contracting Rick and his crew for more work in the near future to construct a patio below the deck, and possibly screening it in.

Bottom line - if you are looking to have the best deck/patio/porch, etc. in the neighborhood at the best price, give Rick a call. He is going to be our go-to contractor for any further additions on our house.
