I had an appointment with Scott to come give a bid to replace a roof on a house my son is closing on at the end of the month. I called Friday to verify they were coming out Monday morning at 10am and they confirmed. We drive the hour and a half to the house to meet them. We get there at 9:40am- at 10:15 I call the office and get no answer, so I try a few more times and finally someone answers and confirms Scott is on his way and should be there shortly.
I call the next contractor that was scheduled for 11am and let them know they can come any time. He shows up at 10:30am and says thank you for letting me show up early as he has a full day. He does his thing, gives us his estimate and says we will have the complete bid in our email this afternoon.
After he leaves I try calling the office and no one answers so we head home.
I finally get a call from Scott at Noon, 2 hours after the appointment to see when we are available for him to come out.
I told him I would never do business with a company that can not communicate with people and don't show up. The reason he gave was they forgot to put it on his schedule, you would think the owner would have better customer service.

The replacement of my roof was completed on August 18, 2023. The roof looks great. On Wednesday evening, August 24, 2023, I noticed a piece of chipped exterior paint. I thought it was odd because my home had just been painted in August 2022. I went in search of the issue. I then noticed that the eaves surrounding my porch were damaged. They were exposed nails and chipped wood or just damaged and chipped wood from nails in all of the eaves surrounding my home. I sent Scott Carlson a text message Thursday morning (8/25/2023,) explaining the issue. I did not receive a reply so I sent an email to Scott Carlson on Friday morning (8/26/2023.). I once again, did not receive a reply. On Tuesday 8/29/2023, I filed a claim with Bayview Roofing’s insurance company. The insurance claims adjuster informed me that Bayview Roofing was willing to repair the damage. I explained that I no longer trust that the eaves will be repaired correctly, I submitted a bid from a contractor that I have worked with before. I have not received a response from Bayview Roofing yet. I have been checking with the claims adjuster. The 2 rating is because of the extensive damage to my eaves.

I just learned about Bayview roofing this year through my State farm insurance agent in Silverdale, Nicole Grigg. I requested 3 estimates for replacing my 30 year old composite roof at the beginning of April. Two of the bigger companies were unable to complete the work prior to the end of the summer. Bayview being a small family-run business, completed the work in the middle of May. I was very impressed with their staff and the workers were very diligent and considerate of safety and also my personal needs regarding clutter. The office manager, Crystal personally delivered the invoice to my house and picked up my check for the work. The estimator Steve delivered a prepackaged packet of extremely important information about my roof which the big companies didn't do. Scott Carlson, the owner of the business was very personal and communicative about the work while it was being performed. I don't give out five stars very often but certainly Bayview roofing was entitled to this rating.

Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
