I had an appointment with Scott to come give a bid to replace a roof on a house my son is closing on at the end of the month. I called Friday to verify they were coming out Monday morning at 10am and they confirmed. We drive the hour and a half to the house to meet them. We get there at 9:40am- at 10:15 I call the office and get no answer, so I try a few more times and finally someone answers and confirms Scott is on his way and should be there shortly.
I call the next contractor that was scheduled for 11am and let them know they can come any time. He shows up at 10:30am and says thank you for letting me show up early as he has a full day. He does his thing, gives us his estimate and says we will have the complete bid in our email this afternoon.
After he leaves I try calling the office and no one answers so we head home.
I finally get a call from Scott at Noon, 2 hours after the appointment to see when we are available for him to come out.
I told him I would never do business with a company that can not communicate with people and don't show up. The reason he gave was they forgot to put it on his schedule, you would think the owner would have better customer service.

The replacement of my roof was completed on August 18, 2023. The roof looks great. On Wednesday evening, August 24, 2023, I noticed a piece of chipped exterior paint. I thought it was odd because my home had just been painted in August 2022. I went in search of the issue. I then noticed that the eaves surrounding my porch were damaged. They were exposed nails and chipped wood or just damaged and chipped wood from nails in all of the eaves surrounding my home. I sent Scott Carlson a text message Thursday morning (8/25/2023,) explaining the issue. I did not receive a reply so I sent an email to Scott Carlson on Friday morning (8/26/2023.). I once again, did not receive a reply. On Tuesday 8/29/2023, I filed a claim with Bayview Roofing’s insurance company. The insurance claims adjuster informed me that Bayview Roofing was willing to repair the damage. I explained that I no longer trust that the eaves will be repaired correctly, I submitted a bid from a contractor that I have worked with before. I have not received a response from Bayview Roofing yet. I have been checking with the claims adjuster. The 2 rating is because of the extensive damage to my eaves.

I just learned about Bayview roofing this year through my State farm insurance agent in Silverdale, Nicole Grigg. I requested 3 estimates for replacing my 30 year old composite roof at the beginning of April. Two of the bigger companies were unable to complete the work prior to the end of the summer. Bayview being a small family-run business, completed the work in the middle of May. I was very impressed with their staff and the workers were very diligent and considerate of safety and also my personal needs regarding clutter. The office manager, Crystal personally delivered the invoice to my house and picked up my check for the work. The estimator Steve delivered a prepackaged packet of extremely important information about my roof which the big companies didn't do. Scott Carlson, the owner of the business was very personal and communicative about the work while it was being performed. I don't give out five stars very often but certainly Bayview roofing was entitled to this rating.

They never gave me a receipt for the roofing job. I have been asking for a receipt now for 8 months. They put the roof on back in 2019 and my insurance company is over charging me for my insurance because they require proof that the new roof was put on.

Bayview roofing such stellar service. I called the owner he was so friendly and kind. The very next day they were out to do repairs on my roof. The workers very professional and work very efficient. They gave me quite a deal and did excellent and honest work for me. I'll have them out again for more work very soon. Thank you guys for being #1 in the roofing business!!!

Thanks for the reasonable and swift response. Had a tree limb punch a hole in my roof during the stormy season. Noticed it Tuesday night with a nasty storm predicted on Thursday. Called Wednesday morning and Bayview had a very knowledgeable roofer (Spencer) there by 12:00 to inspect and patch. Did an awesome job and even helped out further by clearing most of the other branch debris from my roof. Made this little crisis of mine a breeze. Thanks Bayview!

I cant say anything about the roofing but I can say they are some of the nicest people. I got locked out of my car at a gas station and they just happened to see me. They drove back to their shop and got the tools to get me back in my car, no questions asked. It was raining and I had just got off a hard day of work so I can't even express how much their kindness meant to me. Big thank you to Scott!

My Wife and I really feel like we got our moneys worth with the roofing job on our house from Bayview. Bryan and his guys worked really hard on my 12/12 pitch and did'nt even flinch when we discovered alot of the sheathing needed to be replaced. He let me come up to see for myself the extent of the issue. Together we came to the right decision. There was some structural work as well. The job took a little longer than originally planned but was well worth the peace of mind.

I would highly recommend a call to Bayview Roofing if you are in the market for a new roof. Steve and his crew did an exceptional job with our new roof, they were in and out in the timeline promised, very clean & proffesional, and other than the new roof you can't even tell they were here. The customer service here is excellent, pricing extremely competitive, and they won't try to sell you gimicky things you dont need

Had shingles blow off my roof after a windstorm. Contacted Bayview once I noticed tiles were missing and they came onsite the next day. The fix was provided the following day. They had great customer service and were easy to work with. Would definitely recommend to use them for any roofing needs.

I would give Bayview roofing another half star. From the start working with Scott was professional and friendly. The products used are locally sourced and the company is based in Kitsap county. The team that arrived to tear down and re-install were hard working and friendly, willing to answer all questions and provide what ever services were asked.

WOULD GIVE 10 STARS IF I COULD! I had Bayiew come-out to correct gross skylight deficiencies left by another roofer who installed new ones with a new roof in 2010. The skylights were very poorly seated, and thus were drafty and noisy (road noise from SR-3), as well as letting debris (and spiders!) through when the roof was blown for cleaning. I had to cancel once due to leaving town for a family medical emergency; but when I finally returned, they quickly rescheduled me for the next day. Spencer and Joey arrived right on time and started the repairs. They were nothing but exceptionally professional and competent, and you could tell they had a sincere desire to do the best repairs possible. Not only did they apply their professional expertise to diagnose and correct all seating problems with the [curb] mounting, but they also found & corrected additional problems of which I was not aware (missing fasteners & one skylight installed in the wrong direction). They finished in the exact time promised and the final price was within five dollars of the estimate Scott, the owner, had given me three months ago. This morning, I woke-up and walked past one of the skylights wondering if SR-3 was closed-down...no, just my skylights finally sealed properly! I could not have asked for a better customer experience and will definitely rely on them for any future roof work.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
