This company was a pleasure to work with every step of the way. My shake roof was removed and disposed of with no damage to landscape. The professional crew was fast and efficient and finished ahead of schedule despite some extra work that was uncovered. The extra work was done cost effectively where another company could have easily over sold the repairs. I appreciate their integrity, professionalism, workmanship and value. I would use them again and recommend them to others.

After many roof estimates I settled for Bates Roofing. My next door neighbor referred this business to me. The appointment and inspection was very professional. After agreeing on the estimate the project was scheduled and completed within 3 weeks of the initial inspection. On day of installation the team showed up on time and worked most of the day. I viewed and ask questions with the supervisor on site. Everything was done as promised. Roof installed, debris removed and the roof looks wonderful. Reasonable affordability and I would recommend this company to my friends.

Great workmanship, excellent customer service and excellent communication at all phases of project (from sales to post completion). We had a problem with birds trying to nest under our shingles, Bates made sure they addressed that problem and after work was completed, they reinforced that problem area. After roof was installed, they walked with us as we inspected their work and ensured that the yard was clear of any debris.

We received multiple quotes for our job and Bates Roofing was not only the most cost effective roof replacement, but they are also a timely and professional team. They replaced both our house roof and detached garage roof in 2.5 days. As a first time-home owner, a HUGE purchase like a new roof is intimidating, but Bates made sure everything from our initial quote to finishing with the gutters ran smoothly. Brad (Sales) in particular did a great job running us through all of the options and why we would need/not need certain roof features based on our particular house and comparing our quote to other business (other business may not have insurance that covers their employees in case of injury on your property! If you’re adding exhaust venting you better also add intake venting!). Joe was a very responsive project manager that made sure to answer all our questions and finalize the details. I was even happier in the end knowing I supported a locally owned, family-run business that’s been helping out the south Puget Sound for 42 years.

Where good price and quality meet. I had several companies come out and give me an estimate, a few of them were coming in at more than double the price as Bates, one guy came in a few thousand cheaper but after some research he was basically a ghost and had a new company name every few years, luckily there sales manager Brad is a cool guy and made the decision easy for me. Their crew installed a new 3,400 sq ft roof, replaced 5 skylights, and cleaned up well in 2.5 days. Very happy with my purchase and my mind is at ease knowing I am with a company that has been around for a long time and has a good reputation.

The estimator (Brad) made several suggestions on improving the roof venting, and the project lead (Joe) made some more.
Jose and crew showed up ready to work on a frosty roof early in the morning and they didn't stop until it was too dark to continue. They were pleasant, safe and careful with the shrubs around the house. They finished by around 10am the 2nd day.

Superb job from start to finish! Removed old concrete tile roof (HARD work ) and installed a whole new roof system. It looks beautiful and Bates found and repaired several problems caused by the old roof. Their workmanship is first rate and their pricing is very competitive. I went through a thorough process of getting a roof installer. Got quotes from 4 different vendors.
1. Bates replaced a roof in my neighborhood, walked to the home and checked the roof myself and it looks standard.
2. I was not looking for some fancy and expensive ones. So this standard roof that can sustain 100 miles wind, 25 years warrant is good enough.

Our current roof was 24 yrs old with no issues other than it is time! Don't wait for a leak! Other houses in my neighborhood had new roofs put on over the last couple of years. I watched the different roofing employees and talked to my neighbors to get their input re: their Roofing company choice. I gathered 5 estimates, 3 in person and 2 online. Narrowed down to 2 and chose Bates. Their price was competitive and everything about this company was top notch. Not only is it family owned and been in business a long time, they use their own employees. They don't use subs...warning! this was important to me since I watched a couple of "sub jobs." Communication was excellent. The team of 4 employees were a well oiled machine and treated my property with respect. The lead, Nicolas took pictures to show me the dampness and water damage under the roofing after it was removed. A few pieces of new plywood needed to be replaced, which is normal and I appreciated their honesty. The supervisor popped in a few times to make sure everything was going smooth. After my experience, I'm guessing other neighbors will use Bates as well.

I highly recommend Bates roofing. Very good product and the team that did the actual work had meticulous attention to detail. The team lead was Jremeel Aguilar. His crew was on time every day, kept me informed of what his crew was doing and was very professional. Obviously a roof is not something you replace that often but when you need to replace it you want to know you had good quality at a good price and installed by professionals that you can tell have been doing it for a while.

Bates Roofing submitted the best bid to replace our roof. They effectively communicated with me to coordinate the installation date and they showed up right on time. They did a fantastic job on the roof - they had to tear off the old roof and they replaced it with their Legacy product. It took about a day and a half to accomplish the job - and it looks great! Great coordination with their supervisors throughout the project - they addressed all my concerns quickly and efficiently. Great folks to deal with and they have great service and a great product. This has been a long time coming! I’ve been meaning to write a review for months. We recently had our roof replaced and we cannot say enough amazing things about Bates Roofing! Brad was amazing and got us the best price (I had 4 estimates from different roofers). The quality is GORGEOUS! The roofers were so kind and I was kept up to date each step of the way. As many others have said, no one looks forward to having to replace a roof...and we were no different! However, after having several roofing companies tell us we probably needed a new roof, we chose Bates Roofing LLC. Although we live in Lacey and Bates is located in Puyallup, we figured that for a roofing company to remain in business for over 40 years, they must be doing it right...and they were willing to come down to Lacey!

After sending Bates an email requesting they check out my roof, I received a prompt reply from Brad, saying he could come down the next day. He arrived on time and after crawling around my roof for half an hour, he confirmed what others had told me...I needed a new roof. The next day I had an email from Brad with three bids with different qualities of materials as well as warranties...and all three bids were lower than other bids I had received. I chose the mid-range bid as it offered me an excellent product with a roof at a price I could afford.

A week later, Jose brought his team of professional roofers down and within two days, completed the project. Joe, the 'project manager" came down several times to "oversee" the work as it progressed, as well as to give it a final inspection.

Each and every representative of Bates the we encountered, either personally or on the telephone, was completely professional and represented Bates Roofing in an exemplary manner. The roofing crew was extremely conscientious in caring for our property and, in particular, for the landscaping surrounding our home. The overall organization of this project was the best I have ever seen, from the initial meeting with Brad through the actual roofing led by Jose, to the final inspection by Joe. The end result is a roof that looks great and will serve us well for many years into the future.

We had to have a an emergency roof replacement and called Bates for an estimate. We had four different companys come out and give us estimates all were referrals... of all the companies that came out and gave us a bid Bates was the best fit and most honest.

Brad came out was professional and upfront with us. We knew we needed a new roof after talking with knowledgeable friends and family based on they type of roof we had. Brad explained everything including the why's and broke down who, what, why and when any warranty would be applicable to us in the future. He was concise, real, throughout and all why not being gimmicky. They were able to get us in very quickly and their crew was very efficient and well mannered. They were super clean and careful. We share a driveway with neighbors and they managed to make sure their big truck was out of thr way and our neigh ors had a safe space to walk. They also made sure it was safe for anyone including when we had to take the dogs out for a potty break.

Bates roofing replaced my roof and I am very satisfied with the process and result. They met with me to get the particulars of what was needed. I had several vents added, a shed roof replaced, and a skylight replaced. They provided a competitive estimate with up front pricing. This included a per sheet of plywood cost for any damaged plywood that was found. Other than a few sheets of plywood, there were no surprise charges. The crew was professional and cleaned up when they were done. I recommend them for your roof replacement.

The bid process and installation were both informative, helpful and according to what was contracted for. Their price was in the middle of six estimates we procured. One month after job completion I have not found any leaks or other related installation problems. They surprised me with including a ridge vent for my garden shed, that we had not discussed earlier. Thank you! Cleanup was thorough both days of installation. We have already recommended Bates Roofing to a few friends.

Bates Roofing completed the roof replacement in a timely manner and the staff was kind and communicative. We noticed a few nails left after the project and they came and did another run through to make sure all nails and staples were picked up. They did a great job!

Very reasonable pricing and very attentive to concerns and needs as you go through the process. They wrote letters for us to present to our HOA so we wouldn't receive fines as we went through the process. If I had to give some constructive criticism I would say they could improve their process of finishing the job. It was kind of unclear when they were done, they just left and we got emails a few days later. A little bit of gutter gunk was splattered on one of the sides of our house also. Least of my worries though and everything went very smoothly with a high quality of craftsmanship and professionalism applied to their work. Highly recommend them for anyone looking to replace their roof!

Also we had some gutters that were draining improperly and they fixed them for us, something I noticed that I really appreciated. (gutters were draining against the siding of the house and they cut and turned the outlet so it would drain properly to the roof, away from the siding) They could have easily ignored this and just went about the roof install. A few of our neighbors got new roofs so i decided to get a quote for future knowledge since our 22 yr old roof looked good. I was impressed with Bates and our neighbors roofs looked so good and the price was right so we decided to get it done and I’m so glad we did! I've used Bates personally multiple times and sent other people to them. They are a great professional company at a reasonable, fair market price. I would suggest people use them for repairs, replacements & tune ups!

We called them to schedule an inspection. Brad came over the next day. He was informative and kept it short and simple and straight to the point. He didn’t try to force our hand at buying the expensive product. What he quoted us there was no hidden fees or extra charges once we agreed. Sarah was great in keeping us informed of our scheduling for our roof to be replaced. She even went as far as being my human google maps when I couldn’t find there office she talked me through and met me outside of their office.
