Bass Pro Shops (Formerly Cabela's) - South Charleston, WV

Went in to pick up a gift card my wife had purchased online and the so called manager Kara and her minion Rhonda were so rude and said "I don't have a gift card for ya, I can't help ya" but neither of them even looked for it or acted like they could be bothered by anything other than their little gossip session. I drove an hour and half to pick that up for absolutely nothing.

In terms of fishing baits, this locations seems to have less items than some other Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shops that I have been to. There were several whole series of lures that they did not carry much of or even any of at all.

Went in for steel toe boots. Had 4 pairs out of everything, none that fit. Started looking for Christmas gits in candles and cut my finger open. Took candle to customer service for a band-aid and disposal of candle as there was blood on it and broken glass. Reps just kept passing it around like it's ok. The manager came and a few minutes later said he didn't want to fill a report out and asked if I had a band-aid and was dismissed. Then, while checking out, my item rang up incorrectly. I pointed it out and had to walk another manager back to where the item was, and then I could go check out.

Took my son to see Santa Claus for the first time at Cabela's in south ridge shopping center and had a very good experience. Good atmosphere and nice selection.

Fun store in walk around in. Friendly staff and awesome hunting and home decoration section. Overall check this Cabelas out.

I had placed a pickup order because I was so busy everything was available on app and everything in cart was available to pickup in store so that’s what I had done I arrived there and all items but one was in my pickup order I asked why and it was saying ship to store I’m like when I ordered this said available for pickup next day they lied even tho I went there and they had two of the items that was supposedly needed shipped to store I went in multiple times and they wanted me to purchase the items first then get refunded for the same item later that I had already purchased called the manager after I had left to grab some food the manager proceeded to tell me the same crap and said because there was only two in store they pull from another location that has more of the same item seams kind of redundant when I’m a paying customer why couldn’t they just give me one of the two in store and then place the one coming back on the shelf I’ve purchased a lot from Cabela’s but I can assure you I won’t be back.

First time gun purchase, terrible experience here. Complete lack of interest in showing me how to operate gun. Not transparent on what I was purchasing, rushed me through the documentation on his laptop. I ended up unknowingly purchasing an overpriced used gun. Which is ultimately my fault, but the complete lack of care I was shown and the fact they let a newbie walk out with a gun she knew nothing about in 40 minutes is startling.

Haven't been there in sometime. Went to purchase a new camp hunting jacket. Too my surprise nothing less than $260..now I actually found one at Walmart but to small... insulated and waterproof $79...don't think I will be purchasing anything anything soon at Cabela's. Ammo prices too high, guns the same. No deals for sure to be found at Cabela's.....blah

Lazy Sunday went to Cabellas. My first time. We were greeted like they had known us forever. Looking for a Flyfishing rod and reel and had no clue about Flyfishing. The department head had an employee come over that didn’t know me from the next guy. He stops what he’s doing and shows me not only what I want but what I need, explains the ins and outs and then gives me Flyfishing lessons right there in the store. Shows me flys and how to tie them and just bonus information like you wouldn’t believe. I thanked him tremendously for everything and he says it’s just his job and he loves teaching. How lucky was I? I bought all I needed and then went right back in. I hadn’t had a chance to look at everything they have to offer including the fish tank that has fresh water game fish in it. The tank is the size of a car. The kids were mesmerized, especially at feeding time. The place had everything. If it’s not there (mostly is) it’s in a catalogue or on line. I could have spent the night there and still be looking throughout the store. I loved it. It was GREAT! Like taking a kid to a candy shop. I’m going back. Probably the day after tomorrow. I hope they’re prepared, LOL. Seriously……I’m a hard core outdoors shopper. (You’d think after all the time I spent in there yesterday I would have had at least 1 or two pictures of the place). I’ll do better and come back and post.

Clean, well stocked and very helpful staff. Was unaware of a discount for medical staff & not just first responders! Bonus!

The staff at the gun library is awesome working over the phone to get me what I was looking for in the used section and handing the transaction smoothly and efficiently even taking the time to adjust the price accordingly. Top that off with no tax on Firearms and ammo this place is a home run.

Always love going here. Had to have my bow repaired and they sent it off and received it back for me.
