I chose Barkleys in 2023 to replace my roof and perform all other fixes; painting the entire house, windows, screens, fencing, etc related to a hail claim and the result was excellent. Chris Stout was my contact with Barkleys that worked with me and always kept me in the loop related to schedule and which crews would be at my house. Since the roof replacement, we had a minor hail event that just damaged a vent in 2024 and just this spring I discovered a small leak in my garage from my roof. In both instances I reached out to Chris and the same day someone would show up to look at the issue and a resolution would be communicated clearly to me and the work was completed in days, not weeks or months. If someone asks who I recommend for roofing it will be Barkleys and Chris. When I call Chris, he always answers, “What’s up Terry?” and he addresses my issue or question promptly. I like a company that stands behind their product and Barkleys delivers! I highly recommend this company.

Barkley's and specifically, Michael, were great to work with and did an excellent job replacing our roof. They finished our large area roof in one day and made sure everything was cleaned up to our liking afterwards. Throughout the process, Michael was extremely responsive and quickly answered any questions via text or phone call. Our job was delayed for a long time due to the insurance claim process, and Barkley's was a helpful resource in navigating that.

I honestly can't say enough good things about this roofer.

November of 2023 I was installing my Christmas lights and noticed that my shingles we pretty bald (as in, they had lost a lot of the abrasive asphalt surface that protects them from hail, rain, etc.). They hadn't looked like that when I had taken my lights down late the previous winter. A trusted source recommended Barkley's to me because she had worked with them before.

Michael Potts came to my house within a day or two of my initial call, confirmed that my roof was damaged. I initiated an insurance claim.

All said and done, did Barkley's install a good roof? Yes.
Did they do it quickly and timely? Also yes!

But to me, the important part of everything was this:

My insurance company refused to pay for the roof. We contested the decision. They blew smoke, dragged their feet, threw up stumbling-blocks, counted on me not knowing how to navigate insurance issues, and were generally an enormous, unprofessional pain.

Barkley's, and specifically Michael Potts, helped walk me through the entire process of dealing with the insurance company. They met the adjuster for the initial inspection, pointed me in the right direction to contest the adjuster's decision, and his boss's decision, and then through the 3rd party appraisal process and finally my complaint with Texas Department of Insurance. About six months after my initial filing, the claim was approved and the roof installed.

Were it not for Barkley's and MP, I very likely would have either given up to wait for a more convincing hail storm to really tear up my roof, or just paid for the thing myself. But because of my roofer's advocacy (and patience!), my roof got replaced in the manner it was supposed to and paid for by the people who were supposed to pay for it.

Plus everybody over at Barkley's is just really nice. Not that important in construction, but it can mean a lot when you're frustrated and ready to throw in the towel.

We weren't sure what do after the storm did some damage to our home in McKinney, but then my friend mentioned Barkley's Roofing, and so we called. Their guy was out at our property quickly and did a thorough inspection before explaining any type of costs. He provided us with all the information to make a sound decision, and we are glad we chose to go with them also. They did an amazing job and it was better than I even expected in terms of process. They were always on top of the whole process, came to our house and replaced the whole roof when they said they would, very punctual, finished everything in one day and handled everything in very professional manners. In the process of selling our home, we found out that the roof needed replaced. I received a call from my insurance agent on Tuesday, January 5, telling me that the roof replacement had been approved and that I needed to find a roofer. My realtor recommended Barkley as the “go-to roofer” used by many agents in her office. I received a call from the owner of Barkley Tuesday evening to go over all of the details of what would happen. By Thursday, January 7, at about 4:00 p.m., the roof was replaced.

Barkley was wonderful about communicating very thoroughly about the entire process, including: how the insurance checks would work, how they could wait for payment until we received the insurance checks, how messy and noisy the roof replacement would be, and how dangerous it would be (so to keep my little ones inside while they were replacing the roof). We were also told that if we were not completely satisfied with the roof or the clean-up job the crew did, that they would come back the next day to remedy the situation. After a few questions to jog my memory, I remembered that Barkley was the company who replaced our roof on the house we’d sold three years ago. I had no qualms about hiring them again, because they had done a wonderful job when we hired them before.

The crew that came out to do the job was very professional. They were prompt (a plus even if we awoke to banging while the old roof was being removed), worked very efficiently, and did a wonderful job at cleaning up around the house. We had been warned that it would probably take all of Thursday and a few hours on Friday morning for the completion. However, the entire roof was completed Thursday by 4:00 p.m.

I was extremely please with the entire experience, and would absolutely hire Barkley again in the future should the need arise.
