I woke up to find a puddle of water on my kitchen floor and water damage on my ceiling drywall. It had been raining hard all night and another storm (atmospheric river) was scheduled to roll in later in the evening. I had met Michael while riding a chairlift at Mount Rose a month prior and he gave me his business card when I asked for his contact information. I recall thinking "great guy - I would be happy to recommend him to someone needing roof work". Little did I know that "someone" would be me exactly one month later... Found Michael's Authentic Roofing business card on my desk and gave him a call. He told me he could stop by around noon and assess my situation. Michael and Roberto arrived promptly at noon. After examining my roof he called for another crew to bring specific materials needed to repair my roof. Raul and Luis arrived 25 minutes later with the repair materials and were up on my roof removing tiles and old felt before 100P. As the sun was setting four hours later they had finished the job. Amazing teamwork and a job well done. I couldn't have asked for a quicker response or a better work. The next storm system arrived late that evening and I slept soundly knowing the repair was complete. Thank you to Michael and the Authentic Roofing team for responding so quickly and for quality work. I have already recommended Authentic Roofing to a friend and I will not hesitate to recommend them in the future.

I had tried to get over 10 other companies to come by the house and simply have a conversation. Authentic called me back and showed up at the house the day of the call to go over options and talk about getting a new roof. Just a great experience all the way around on our standing seam metal roof! Zero regrets.

Authentic Roofing LLC, absolutely crushed it for me! Usually you can’t get the best and the cheapest but with Authentic roofing you absolutely can! I’ve been putting off replacing my roof for 3 years now and when I had Michael from authentic roofing come out to look at repairing a leak, he gave it to me straight and said the roof wouldn’t last another winter BUT he’d be happy to just to the repair as well (something other roofing companies wouldn’t do). Upon receiving one quote same day for the repair and another one for a total replacement I was blown away at the cost of the total replacement. Not only was it 5k cheaper than the next quote I received (last year), it was for better materials!! Given Michael’s no BS approach and honesty I didn’t think twice about using them. I wasn’t worried about a bait & switch and I wasn’t worried about quality. As I suspected, his crew busted their butts, were super professional, and were extremely friendly. They worked from 8am to sundown for 4 days straight (super challenging roof layout & lots of previous roofing mistakes to correct (not from them))! They went above and beyond to make sure it was exactly as Michael and I had discussed. To say I’m satisfied is an understatement. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Don’t waste your time contacting anyone else to compare quotes, I already did this for you and I’m telling you to just use Authentic Roofing. They also are a huge part of the community and fully support giving back through BBBS! No, I wasn’t paid for this review, I am just a happy customer that would love to see this business stay in a community for a long time.

Owner called me after my initial review. Said he would send out someone to paint the flashing. Still waiting…
Showed him emails/text that his representative took responsibility for the subcontracting of the paint job. Still waiting…

Don’t use these guys.

1/2/2024 update: Owner reply below is incorrect! The roofing job on my house is not complete. I have photo of incomplete job but can’t upload to this review.

Authentic Roofing took in the paint job as the general contractor. Their representative Michael told me he would make sure the paint job was fix and engaged an other painter to strip and paint the house. I have text messages from Authentic Roofing where they took on the responsibility to correct the paint job and schedule start of work.

Original Review:
Don’t get fooled by their sales team. They don’t know how the permit process works in the Tahoe basin. Kept pushing out start date over and over. Lied about permit being finales in order to get paid. Left job incomplete, I’m stuck with a section of roof flashing which is the wrong color.
Recommend their “buddy” for exterior paint and said they would guarantee the work. The paint started to peel one week later. The Authentic Roofing sales team said they get it fixed as it was their responsibility. Now I’m stuck with peeling paint, unfinished roof and having to sue to get my deposit back.

Would never use again or recommend.

Project manager Mike was knowledgeable and considerate in discussing my roof job. Always felt he had my interests in mind. He was more than fair with pricing.
The crew led by foreman Raul was just incredible. They were efficient, knowledgeable and always took the time to discuss my concerns or questions. I would recommend these folks as the people to talk to before signing up with anyone else.

Mike and the whole Authentic Roofing team went above and beyond for us, making sure we got the best coverage possible from our insurance and making sure we chose a product that worked best for us. An unexpected storm came in the week of our roof installation, and the team worked extra hard to be sure that our home wouldn’t be damaged and even came back on a weekend to finish the job after the delay. We also love that Authentic Roofing is always finding creative and awesome ways to support the community and local projects. From word of mouth reviews from friends, we expected to be impressed, but not this impressed!! I’d recommend Authentic Roofing to anyone and everyone.

The January 2024 windstorms brought 3 of my neighbor's trees down on my house and sheds in Carson City. Authentic Roofing sent Michael McCarty over to quote replacements and I was immediately impressed with his expertise and professionalism. This family-owned business in Reno does exactly what they say they will do for the price quoted. This is a refreshing change to the typical landscape of broken promises and overpaid shoddy work. Authentic Roofing did an absolutely fantastic job replacing my roof. Michael's assistance with my insurance company and his constant communication with me about every detail of the project were invaluable. Cheers to the team at Authentic Roofing! I recommend them to everyone I know including my 80 yo mom.

I called Authentic Roofing several weeks ago, and Mark McCarty came and gave me an estimate. When he was in the house, he suggested I call my insurance company, which we did, for an insurance payment for some damage on my roof. He informed me that he would be doing the paperwork for me, download it to my insurance company, bring me a paper copy, and have the adjuster that works with Authentic Roofing come and look at the roof and do her own estimate on what insurance should pay & deal with the adjuster from my insurance company. None of that ever happened. Every time I texted him or tried to contact him after all of his ridiculous promises, he just put me off. He told me he was getting to it, next he said he’d been out of town on a job, just excuses. I informed him that I would be happy to pay for the job using the check from the insurance company as a down payment but he insisted that he was going to write up a document to email to the insurance company and get more money for me. Instead of being honest by stating that he was too busy, or that they just didn’t want the job, he simply quit returning communications. Maybe it’s because I’m a senior citizen. He continued to say he was going to contact my insurance company for a bigger check, that they had insured the roof and owed me at least half of the money to replace it. He never returned any of my texts after that, I tried to contact him several times to find out when he was getting the documents finished. He promised to do a moisture test on my ceiling, which he never did. He promised a lot of things that he never did. My credit score is adequate to be financed as I was already financed by an ethical company that’s going to replace my roof. I suggest nobody contact this company. I saw some good reviews and wondered what was different about me. My house isn’t very big but the estimate was for $12,000, which seems to be a good profit considering the estimate was $1000 for every hundred square feet my house is. Fortunately, I got another estimate, signed the quote and will be having my roof replaced by an ethical company that has choices for roofing materials colors, etc. that any honest company would. Be careful if Mark McCarty shows up at your house. I’ve never been scammed, but I was foolish to believe this guy, no matter how charming his accent made him seem.

The entire team at Authentic Roofing was excellent. I had a challenging install that had a mix of both metal and asphalt roofing elements. They did a great job with removal, installation and cleanup. Very happy with the quality of work completed!

I have a gorgeous new roof. The entire process was very easy and efficient. I called in October and Mary answered the phone and set up an appointment for Patrick to come to my house and look at the old roof. He came out the next week, actually walked up on the roof and sent me an estimate the following week. I scheduled another appointment for Patrick to come out again with the roofing samples and he helped me pick out one that went with my red brick house. The new roof went up in January. The roofing crew was very friendly and did such a good job. They were very careful removing the old roof and not damaging the plants below. It was such a pleasure to deal with a company who answers the phone, sends texts and comes when they say they are going to. Authentic Roofing gets 5 stars!

The owner came out to do a repair job after I had the HVAC replaced. He gave me an estimate for the whole roof - including how long the current roof might last. Had them out a year later to do a full replacement = looks great. So happy I am having them look at the roof on my new place.

Lowest bid by far, and even before that I was hoping they would be - the initial visit felt more professional and thorough than others. Scheduling wasn’t great - project start was rescheduled multiple times due to other jobs in progress taking much longer than expected, and felt like communication about these delays was subpar at times. 8/10 on cleanup, still finding an occasional nail and bits of debris, weeks later, but this is common with roof work. In the end, they did great work, got it done quickly (even coming to finish up on Thanksgiving weekend), end result is perfect, very happy with our new roof.

Beyond terrific. 4 weeks prior to scheduled start time I was kept up to date for changes. The unpredictable winter was rolling in and minor time changes were made. No last minute surprises because of their communication. The day they started, large drapes were placed under roofs to catch any falling tear off materials. Everyday they walked the perimeter for trash, nails, old roof etc. They showed everyday 30 minutes prior to roof frost burn-off and prepared their tools and action plan for the day. Once frost burned off they got to work until sundown. Daily, a supervisor would come by to bring any extra needed material and quality check the work. They even brought their own port-a-pody. They worked hard and controlled fast. Work is excellent. My neighbor liked them so much they that they also hired Authentic Roofing. That says it all! I would hire them again, not one challene.

Had a great experience with Authentic Roofing. They always showed up on time, and were in constant communication. I would recommend them to all my friends.

The Authentic Roofing team did an amazing job. Very courteous, professional and reliable. The team was very careful to ensure nails and garbage were picked up at end of each day. They were also mindful of our dogs and did not just walk in back yard. We highly recommend Authentic Roofing!

Authentic did an amazing job on my roof repair! I had a pretty bad leak over one apartment. Report of a leak over a second apartment came in right around the same time they were on site repairing the first. They were able to diagnose and repair both leaks expediently. I had significant house damage from a recent storm. I talked to Mary Wednesday evening, and Thursday the Authentic Roofing crew was repairing it! The service was quick, thorough, and the men were very kind and respectful. I can't remember a time where I felt so cared for while having a home repair. I am very grateful for this service.

The whole team were friendly, very knowledgeable and professional and very neat and tidy, and safe, when replacing our roof. They were also very careful to make sure they didn't damage surrounding trees, bushes and driveway. They took great care not to hurt our curious cats whilst working. Highly recomended.

I would give them 7/5 stars if I could. I worked with Patrick during a home inspection and for a roof removal and installation. Absolute professional and the company was great to work with. Even showed me example shingles to compare for the installation. Had an issue that my roof needed replaced for my home insurance. Somehow this great company had an opening thanks to Mary with scheduling. Patrick was able to show up with a crew of 4 and have the roof done start to finish in 3 days which was well before any deadline. They worked efficiently with a dump trailer right in the driveway (definitely saved a lot of time) and cleaned up daily. I would recommend Patrick and his company to anyone, roof looks great. We discovered several roof leaks in our new tile roof after solar panel installation and called Patrick and Mary at authentic roofing to inspect. They sent their tile roof specialist Victor out and he immediately identified the problems, documented it thoroughly and explained the issues to us in detail.
After insurance approved the repair they were reasonably priced and showed such complete knowledge that we went with them for the actual repair.
Victor came back out and made our roof look and function like new without disturbing the solar panels. Despite the extensive and challenging repairs every time the staff met with us they were friendly and professional. Victor explained what he was doing and how he was addressing the issues, again documenting every step for us.
Everyone from start to finish with authentic roofing made a super stressful situation easier for me as a home owner and customer. Thank you all for your great work and cheerfulness. Although I hope I don’t need roof repairs for a long time I couldn’t recommend there services more.

Authentic Roofing was a great fit for our roofing needs. They were very helpful on the phone and when they first came to our house to check the roof. I’ve had problems in the past with other companies leaving trash, materials, and nails all over the yards. They didn’t leave any mess and were very respectful to our home. They also were very helpful with the pricing and going over all our options to find the right, affordable type of roof to use. It was a pleasure to work with this company and I will keep them in mind for any future needs.

I called to confirm an appointment I made with them three weeks prior (which was two days until the appointment) and they ended up cancelling. Then they rescheduled later that week for Saturday. Then Friday night they called me to cancel again. I know it’s busy for roofing companies, but nowadays all a man has is his word, and they can’t even keep that. Very dissatisfied with their way or treating potential customers.

I was referred by a friend that had just had a roof installed by Authentic Roofing. I had obtained several bids and found this company to be very reasonable. I was impressed with the customer service as they took the time to explain the process, let me look at samples and assisted me in making my decision in choosing shingles that would be my expectation but also keep me within budget.My roof was completed
today and it looks amazing. The installers worked well together we’re always on time and worked very hard throughout the day taking a short lunch break on site.
