He has the patience of a saint when it comes to color selection and even came to look at local houses for inspiration with us. July 2022 Permit Pulled Work "Half Done some not done at all" completed, failed town of EH inspection. Called company 2x was told to email them the information I did still no contact. Had to show up unexpected. Spoke to Kyle Project Manager he said he would stand behind their work do what they need to do to pass inspection. His crew went out to home reported back to Kyle house had no Tyvek. Artisan does Tyvek and Foam. The PFT Progressive foam they used was not listed as a WRB (Weather resistant Barrier) according to the Town of EH Approved products. Its also a requirement of Town to tape all seams and joints. That was also revealed upon inspection with the town with Artisan Representation that it was not completed. According to the PFT Progressive installation direction it was improperly installed. After contacting the manufacturer of PFT Progressive foam they are required to tape seams to make it a WRB approval product to meet requirement of the Town of EH Town Code. Kyle did not stand behind his word to correct issue and "pass inspection" Doesn't matter how much time goes by it would have failed 4 min after or 4 years after. They confirmed they would have been responsible to get town out to inspect work. So no Tyvek, did not choose an approved foam, the foam is not taped and sealed. 4 Failed siding inspected items. I was told all this before closing on my home knowing I had come to an agreement with Kyle then he pulled back on his word. Artisan representation agreed with Town inspector they should have taped this BEFORE siding was put on. So not only was Tyvek Water Vapor Barrier was not used the foam that would make it WRB but ONLY if it is taped per the manufacturer of the PFT Foam was not done so the whole structure of home is not protected by Vapor or Water or Weather. According to the permit they pulled from Town they stated they would install Fan Fold (did not do according to Foam Fan Fold installation ins) and they would install vapor barrier they did not do this either.

Most know you tape seals of foam board nope they just cover work they don't want to finish. Submitted BBB but company only cared about how warranty doesn't transfer or not a contract signed by me yet that's irrelevant its the WORK of the HOME that whoever they had hired was paid to do it yet they didn't do it. They will agree to fix it but not follow through. Stay clear.

Actually the other requested efforts were to come and complete the project correctly and they agreed for a short time then decided to refuse to do that after they realized how in depth the project would be and how the whole house had no Tyvek then also the ENTIRE seams of the foam underneath was never done throughout the whole underneath siding. Leading me to request an amount to have someone else come and fix their work. So no that was not my INITIAL request from Artisan. And it became this way when they VERBALLY agreed and then backed out of their agreement to rectify, fix, correct issues, pass the inspection and close out the permit. Anyone would be upset with that. Not being a customer but the work of the home was completed by Artisan which is the main issue not who owned the house at the time.

So its not about slandering its about INFORMING other prospective customers to BE CAREFUL, be ALARMED, Double Check Triple Check, and get Second Opinion and ensure you don't rely on Artisan but you make sure your Town Inspector gets over before final payment is made. It's about holding a business accountable to why their work failed and was not performed correctly. Taking FULL SOLE responsibility.

Efforts were not EXHAUSTED they did not stand behind their word, their agreement. Efforts were never fulfilled according to what they said they would do. That does not fit the definition of exhausted. So again not about the money its about fulfilling what was agreed with Building Inspector at the time of the visual inspection. Makes it hard for me to sit back and be okay with other customers potentially facing the same issues.

I had a really positive experience with Artisan. I worked with Brandon and Josh, and they were both very responsive and explained the whole process very clearly. The whole team was very professional and efficient. They showed up on time and did a thorough job cleaning up afterwards.

I have now have used Artisan twice to replace my roofs. The first time was for my first house and went through insurance and couldn’t have been an easier process. We recently moved and proactively replaced the roof and contact Artisan for a quote, who came promptly and had a great quote with incredible products. Alex was the best! He was very personable and friendly and came over multiple times to inspect the work after being completed as we got our roof done and had some downspouts installed on our higher level roof which fed down to our lower level roof. Brandon was the project manager and was awesome! He was in constant contact with me about the progress of the job and explained everything in great detail with simplicity. I have several other house projects which I will be reaching out to Artisan for in the future and look forward to working with such a great company!

We hired Artisan Building and Remodeling to fix the leaks in the roof of my mother’s house in a beach area in Old Saybrook. The roof had continued to leak after another roofing company my mother had hired to reroof her house was unable, after several attempts, to stop the leaking. Artisan manager, Tod Tuttle, and his staff inspected the house several times during various weather conditions and used a construction camera to identify probable sources of the leaks. Artisan proposed several options to fix the leaks. We decided to have Artisan re-side the entire house with new siding of a different color rather than replace existing siding that needed to be removed to fix the leaks. Artisan successfully resolved the leak problem, and we were very pleased with the outcome of the re-siding project.

The professionalism, quality of work; responsiveness of Tod, his project managers- Chris and Tony, and their crew to our needs and requests were excellent. They promptly responded to our text messages or phone calls, informed us in advance when the dumpster and supplies would be delivered and of the dates and times that crews would begin working; and they completed their work within the specified timeframes. As promised, Artisan crews worked continuously on our house (weather permitting) and did not leave to work on other projects. Artisan also was willing to coordinate with the installer we had hired to replace eight windows, and they did this very effectively- there was no lag time from the time that the windows were installed and time that the re-siding work commenced.

Artisan crews were also respectful of neighbors’ concerns that noise be minimized and access to driveways not be blocked. We were not living in the house while the work was being done, but neighbors provided very positive feedback on how hard and continuously the crews worked. After the project was completed, an Artisan crew returned to wipe smudges and marks off the white trim.

Great experience with Dan ,Brandon,Justin, and Madison. We were looking to replace our roof and gutters and we shopped around several companies. For us it wasn't just the cheapest but a company that had a great warranty and fully insured . Also a Company that had great people that worked for them from their reviews.We made an appointment with Madison who also was quick to get back to us or change any times we needed.She set up an appointment with Dan in sales. What a great start to our roofing experience.Madison and Dan set the bar high. Little did we know ,everyone we dealt with would ,only get better. Dan sat with us at our home for a couple hours ,working out all details of our installation for the roof on one day and gutters another day. Dan also was able to help get a price we would be happy with. Once we had our plan Madison arranged several installation days that would accommodate our schedules. Dan provided his phone number so we had direct contact for any questions. We agreed on a date for supplies to arrive and a date the crew and dumpster would show up. On installation Day we met the crew and our project manager Brandon. He walked around the property giving a detailed plan of how they day would go from installation,set up and clean up . Brandon was top notch elevating our experience to another level. Watching his crew get to work covering most of our yard with tarps for debris. It was unbelievable to watch the efficiency this team had. Brandon over saw everything ready to answer my questions or the needs of his crew for materials. Everyone on this crew was coordinated with what rolls they had right down to running magnets over every part of the yard for nails. They even returned all our bird baths,bird feeders,and yard decorations to their original spots. The crew i had never stopped and worked hard. When they finished Madison again reached out to give me dates for the gutter installation. I get a date and meet their next team members Justin. I walked the property sharing my concerns and he assured me everything I asked would have his attention. Justin and his crew just upped the bar to finish off a great experience with this company. Our experience was the best you could ask for,with a company fully insured and the best warranties. I would recommend Artisan Building and Remodeling LLC to anyone looking for a roofing company. Artisan completed my triple roof in one day and also reroofed my shed. From start to finish I was impressed. Excellent communication from sales to office staff about when materials were to be delivered and day of installation. Office very responsive. Impressed with Brandon’s installation team. He reached out to me in advance and his team moved my deck furniture and the quality of the install was top notch. They protected the house and gutters and deck and all my planting and AC system. He explained everything clearly and sorted everything out so smoothly. what a great day, didn't think I'd be saying that the day we had a new roof installed. The crew started to arrive early, and got right to work. Brandon was our project manager, who kept everything on track and explained a couple of issues encountered in appropriate detail. We are so pleased with everything. And what a fabulous job the entire crew did on clean up! Ensuring nothing ( i.e. nails in the grass) had been left behind. We definitely recommend them to anyone who is need of a new roof, without the worry.

Artisan Building is an outstanding company to deal with. We experienced a hail storm that damaged our home and required replacement of the vinyl siding. Dan was knowledgeable when it came to working with our insurance company, and was very helpful and patient planning the new siding. The work performed by his team was great. Tony checked in frequently while the work was performed and his team was wonderful. Victor and the workers were on time, neat, pleasant and thorough.
Our home looks amazing. Neighbors specifically asked who was doing the work because they were as impressed as we were.

Artisan Building has been excellent to work with. They are replacing both our roof and siding. The roof was completed today and they did an excellent job. There was one hiccup and it was handled professionally and we lost no time on the project. I would highly recommend Tim and Brandon and the team!

Roofing was good. Siding was a nightmare. Took several weeks to complete a cape. Most of that time, waiting to address items raised on the first week. Problems that project manager noted were completed in small amounts, sometimes taking multiple attempts (i.e. 3 times to hang a door so that it closed.) Ultimately small items on the punch list that we could complete ourselves we allowed to be left undone, rather than keep having aggravation. Major items (leaking) were ultimately addressed, but it took a lot of pursuit.
Very poor communication (i.e. requests ignored, rude responses, promises unkept). Worked in unsafe ways (i.e allowing a single workman to work alone on the roof at dusk while project manager sat in his truck on his phone). Rotted wood was found covered up with facing and would not have been discovered if corners had been installed properly and that second issue (corners) examined.

An excellent team to work with! From the moment Justin showed up on my doorstep, to talking to the receptionist to scheduling materials to arrive at my home to Justin checking in at the end. Great communication and friendly and excellent team all around. Justin stated he would make the whole process easy for me and that’s exactly what he did. Worth the call for your home project.

Corey was a true professional who explained everything well, was responsive to questions and concerns and didn’t try to oversell. The day of the install was seamless from the start to finish including the effort to care for our property and cleanup! Brandon kept us informed during the job and was outstanding as well. Had a tree fall through our roof & Artisan did an absolutely phenomenal job making it right! They were able to navigate the complex insurance aspect of things and advocate for a full replacement- something that the first roofer that we contacted was incapable of doing. Their team, including Corey and Brendon had our backs throughout the entire process and were available for any questions we had. The finished product was exceptional! The shingles & chimney flashing were the work of true craftsman, and the warrantee that Artisan provides spoke volumes about the quality. We cannot recommend them enough, 5 stars.

He found wind damage, so helped me with getting the funds to replace the damaged roof. The workers were amazing. Very fast and efficient. He contacted the insurance adjuster, met with them, negotiated the settlement and then made sure the whole install went seamlessly. Sales representative never followed up with the job after deposit was made did not return calls, staff at office very disorganized claimed they never received voice mails waited all day for a material drop off that never happened they never called to inform me of any situations. The so-called project manager brought wrong shingles dropped off materials and left the job which left me to keep eye on the installers luckily, I was there because they took off ridge vent and capped it, I had to have them tear off shingles and put a new ridge vent back on project manager did not do thorough inspection leaving me to do it fortunately I didn't sign off on inspection as there where flaws in workmanship it also failed inspection from the town inspector they had to come back and fix various things before it would pass. It took two weeks for them to come back I believe if I had signed off on the job, they would have ditched me and be aware the installers they are subcontractors. The project manager was not experienced in roofing when he was here, he sat in his truck on the phone. Do your research before hiring this company.

Installation was super quick!

Dan came by on a cold call following a storm. We'd already had a plethora of "roofers" stop by, each with a different sell. Dan was different enough to warrant a follow-up appointment. He did a very careful inspection on the roof, and pointed out damage we hadn't noticed. He worked with our insurer on documentation and made the process pretty painless for us. After the sale (when the troubles can typically start), Artisan's office staff kept us informed at every step and let us know what would happen when. And, then it actually did! On the install date, the crew arrived on time and wasted no time. Full roof strip-out, wood inspection, and new roof install in one full day. Super well done, by polite and neat workers who seldom stopped moving. And to close this all out, they left our yard fully cleaned up, with little evidence that they'd ever been there.

Overall, 100% satisfied! Highly recommend these guys.

After an enormous amount of time, and approximately 7 roofing companies looking at my roof caps, I finally met someone who actually wanted to help me. I was so impressed with Kevin Grant that I awarded him the entire roofing project, let alone just the caps. Their project manager Josh Ouellette was equally impressive. These are wholesome, honest, professional people who take pride in their work. Hats off to Artisan Building and Remodeling for having such a dynamic team! Highly recommend, regardless of where you’re located.

Completed my 27Sq. ft roof in 6 hours with a plywood replacement this past weekend. The quality of workmanship was outstanding. They also did not leave so much as a nail in my driveway. Impressed with their customer service and workmanship. Highly recommend.

They attended to every detail and it came out better than we expected ! And that is on top of the roofing crew from Artisan who also did a superb job! And that is on top of the tree crew Artisan got for us that got rid of the debris field that our back yard was after the microburst storm invaded our neighborhood. My wife and I couldn’t be happier! We feel like we have been made whole again. We hired Artisan to replace the cedar shingles on our 1850 home. There are always surprises when repairing an old house but Artisan handled each issues expertly and our old girl looks beautiful once again..
We also hired Artisan, on the behalf of an elderly parent, to replace cedar shingles with vinyl siding as well as a new roof and gutters. They worked with us on everything from selecting color and type of material to where the materials were to be stored. The crews worked super hard and the quality of the work speaks for itself. Great team! Kyle B was super helpful during the sales process. Explained every step and was persistent in working with our insurance company. Kyle W and crew were great on the day of installation. Very efficient and did a nice job cleaning up afterwards. The roof looks really good too!

I’ve been working directly with Dan Kibbe from Artisan and he has been so professional and helpful. He has been willing to answer all my questions and I believe truly goes above and beyond. I hired Artisan to put a new roof on my house back in July and was very pleased with the results. Working with Dan was a breeze to get set up. Everything was explained well and in advance. Even though there was an issue where the supply company delivered the wrong shingles, Artisan went and got the correct ones the morning of the project. They made sure the job was still done on the day promised despite an issue not of their fault. I'm very happy with how everything was handled and of course the roof looks great.

We were very pleased with the workmanship of the company. They did an excellent job installing the roof and gutters and it was not an easy installation. Alex was outstanding in explaining the process and everything went as expected. If we called with any questions or issues, they were addressed promptly. All the staff is courteous and conscientious. Would recommend this company highly.

Kevin Grant was fantastic! 10/10! He helped us in every way possible, answered any questions we had, and took good care of us. He was very responsive and went well out of his way to make sure we were pleased. Oh, and a new roof is nice to have as well. :)

We had our roof done last fall by Artisan’s so we contacted them for gutter guards.As was the case before;the work is high quality and VERY neat.We would highly recommend them.

Easy process all around, very excellent work, great communication. Very happy with the work as they did everything they said they would do, and more. They are so good at their craft they are extremely busy so plan ahead but its worth the wait to be superior service.

We had a great experience with Artisan Building and Remodeling, LLC, having our roof and gutters replaced after 20+ years. We worked with Dan Normandin, who was great to work with. During the quote visit, he climbed up on the roof, took lots of pictures to share with me, and it was clear, a new roof was needed sooner rather than later. We discussed options, color, etc, and settled on the top of the line UHDZ GAF shingles, and their full range of supporting GAF products enabling our project to be covered by the transferable Gold Warranty by GAF. I also opted for new gutters, and went with the larger 6" vs standard 5" gutters for better water flow control. Upon getting the quote from Artisan (as well as a couple competitors), I worked with Dan to finalize what we wanted, and Dan even applied a $1,000 off Artisan coupon my wife had found.

On roof replacement day, a large team of 10-14 (varied throughout the day) workers showed up and immediately went to work, slant tarping off the front, back and side of the house to protect landscaping, and for the easy removal of demo work when removing the old roofing. By noon, that was done, and all of the old roofing was wheel barrowed into the dumpster-trailer (yes, a trailer so as not to screw up my yard or driveway with a standard dumpster that other roofers often use). Then, the team spent the afternoon laying all of the water proofing, underlayment, etc, etc as per the quote, and then the UHDZ shingles to finish the roofing project. After that, final clean up included rolling large magnets over the lawn to make sure they didn't leave any nails behind.....and trust me, I looked and could not find any. Kudos to the Artisan roofing team on a job well done!!!

A couple days later, the gutter team showed up, and based on the truck, it appeared that Artisan contracted out the gutter job.....but that was fine, as the gutter crew were great to work with, and banged out the job in a half a day. I really like the new 6" (larger) gutters, as they can hold up to 40% more water than the traditional 5" gutters, have larger down spout holes and downspouts, etc, so flow is much better.

Overall, we were very pleased with Artisan, really liked working with Dan. He even followed up and stopped by to make sure we were happy with everything at project end. I highly recommend Artisan for your roofing and gutter needs.

Tough review to write because the people I dealt with were awesome. Had my shingles replaced on house and porch’s. On my back porch there is a deck off the master bedroom. This deck needed to be sealed with a rubber roof. The rubber roof was sealed good except against the house ( log cabin) the rubber was ran up the siding and glued. The glue won’t stick to stained wood. The very next day we got rain and it leaked into the house. I reached out and was told someone would come and take care of it. After 1 month of calling and being told someone would come fix it i had to fix it myself due to a week of rain that was coming in. The contractors were great they were willing to walk around the house and garage and give me advice on how to fix other issues. I am not sure who dropped the ball on fixing the rubber roof but their workmanship guarantee and knowledge of working on a log cabin was a main reason I went with them. I hope if I have any other issues it gets resolved better than this time.

Salesman, Dan, was very thorough and friendly. Called ahead of schedule to let us know when to expect delivery and installation. Installation was done in 1/2 day very neatly and clean. Wouldn't have known they were there if I didn't see new roof.

Finally, a reasonable priced roof replacement. I interviewed many companies, that were so over priced. They came on time and worked until it was finished later the same day. Everything was cleaned up and the roof looks fantastic. I highly recommend Artisan.
