Archetype Roofing

We began hearing squirrels in the walls of our upstairs bathroom and suspected they may have gotten inside the roof. After calling several roofing companies, who all said they don’t “inspect” roofs, I called Archetype Roofing. Ryan answered the phone and after hearing my problem offered to come out the next morning. Ryan and Vasyl both came, went on the roof, took photos and showed us the damage. It was time for a new roof. We liked them very much and felt like their proposal was fair, so we agreed to have them do the work right away. Throughout the 5 day process, they were communicative and highly responsive. Their crew was top notch - thorough and professional. They went above and beyond in cleaning out the squirrel nest. From the very start, I felt like Ryan and Vasyl made our problem their problem and took great care of us. I highly recommend them.

After experiencing an unexpected leak in our bedroom ceiling I made calls to several roofers seeking assistance. Given the time of year (December) and the weather conditions I was not optimistic about getting a quick response. But Ryan called me back literally seconds after I'd hung up the phone, and he was able to come out and look at my roof the next day. He gave me a detailed explanation of the issues and quoted competitive prices for both a smaller-scale fix or a complete replacement. Based on the age of the roof and the issues involved we decided on complete replacement. Because they were already working on another project near our home, Ryan was able to offer a significantly discounted price and a next-day start time for the job. He was also willing to accommodate my work schedule by having the crew start later in the day.

The work crew was efficient and worked long hours (well past eight hours daily) and they were responsive to my concerns about mitigating runoff during construction. When unexpected issues resulted in an expansion of the scope of work (replacement of 100% of roof decking) there was clear communication about the revision of price and timetable. Throughout the entire process Ryan was always readily available, responding quickly to text messages at any time throughout the day. The entire job was completed less than a week after my initial call. I would recommend Archetype very highly... their quality of work is excellent, and their communication and customer service is truly exceptional.

I suspected my roof needed some repair when I noticed some moisture incursion after the first rains of the Fall season. Three companies came out to assess and bid the project. All three were highly rated, but Archetype Roofing stood head and shoulders above the others.

Ryan and Vasyl arrived same-day and on time to do the initial assessment. When they were done, I was provided with pictures and a clear and concise explanation for the anticipated initial scope of work (not unusual, but unusually well documented and articulated). The initial meeting included walking me through the materials they would use. Honestly, I was expecting some kind of hard- or up-sale experience. This wasn’t the case. They were brief and to the point during our 10-15 minute sit-down. They brought samples that didn’t need a hard sell, because the materials they’re contracted to use distinguish them within the market—so much so that they are able to offer a 50 year, transferable warranty on the roofs they install. Still, their estimate was competitive, and they provided succinct documentation regarding Archetype’s status as licensed, bonded, insured professionals in excellent standing with a solid track record of well-regarded work and customer care.

Brief and to the point is also an excellent way to describe the roofing work Archetype completed for us. Winter isn’t the greatest time to start a roofing project in Seattle. Archetype started work the day after we hired them in order to catch a brief weather window. They were able to complete the entire project while my spouse was out of town, minimizing the difficulty of managing project completion for someone who sleeps partial days to work swings.

Further, as anyone who has ever had to replace a roof knows, you never really know what you might find once the shingles are removed. In our situation, the underlayment was saturated, warped, and unsalvageable. A finding like this can be terrible news because it means more work and exponentially more cost. This is where both Ryan and Vasyl again provided distinguished services above and beyond what my previous roofing experiences led me to expect. I was presented with detailed images showing the damage and lack of salvageable underlayment materials. I was then provided with an updated scope of work, materials list and estimate—and guidance through making an informed decision based on our circumstances. Archetype provided easy payment options and enough flexibility to allow us a day or two to figure out where we would be able to draw resources to cover the balance.

All in all, Ryan and Vasyl shepherded us through a difficult decision process, then seamlessly coordinated their top-notch team to complete the entire project (including materials delivery) in just two extra days (and it was Thanksgiving week). Site clean-up was thorough, as was the after care. Ryan personally inspected the workmanship, ensured our satisfaction, sent comprehensive project pictures and the warranty certificate within days of completion.

If you have concerns about your roof, you can’t go wrong contacting Archetype. Ryan and team were quick to inspect and recommend a scope of work for our roof. Team was fast, clean, and did a great job at replacing the roof and repairing our chimney. Very pleased with the final product and will reach out to Archetype for any other contracting needs.

Ryan and Vasyl were extremely through as we were having our roof inspected for solar panel installation. They were extremely honest and transparent with the inspection results and there were no surprises once the job started. Their roofing crew was on time, extremely professional, and cared how they left my property at the end of each day.

I did have another company inspect my roof with in the same week, the price was almost the same, however, the other company missed 2/3’s of the problems found by Archetype Roofing Co.

Never once did I feel like the communication was anything but GREAT, no matter the time or day, responses were timely, straight forward and truthful, which I appreciate. I felt as if, I was their only job at the time. I am

I cannot say enough good things about Ryan Flegel and Archetype Roofing. I had set up with Evergreen Restoration to have some roof repair work done. They were nice but after a month of not getting a schedule date, a friend of mine recommended I reach out to Ryan. He took my call on the weekend and came out to do an estimate. Due to the urgency (It was holding up my solar installation), Ryan had a team out in a couple of days and they did an outstanding job.

Ryan and Vasyl were fantastic to work with! The workers finished my whole roof in one day, it was 84° outside, during their afternoon break I supplied them popsicles that were greatly appreciated. They arrived early and left around 9pm. Chateau Green is my shingle color.

I really enjoyed working with Ryan and VASYL. They were very thorough when expecting attic and roof. They took alot of pics and explained the damaged and listened to my issues on the subjects. Working with Vasyl was incredible! From the start, when he and his colleague came over to talk through options, they demonstrated a lot of knowledge and experience - and answered all of our questions. I appreciated that they provided options and listened to what we were needing. They were also understanding of our cost concerns and long term plans for our roof replacement. We knew the skylights were in rough shape when we moved in, and of course the night we moved in they started leaking. We called up Vasyl and he worked to find an intermediate solution without needing to replace every skylight (which other vendors had said was required). He cleaned all of the gutter areas and scraped up all the old paint. I mentioned during the quote process that we would prefer to keep the sealant/paint white - which is not a standard color - and he found a way to make it white! When it rained somewhat unexpectedly after the sealing/painting (which disturbed the paint), Vasyl immediately came out the next sunny day and it now looks even better than it did the first time (which was already awesome). Overall, we are very happy with how the roof turned out.
