They are the BEST!
I got several estimates for a new roof, but they were the only one that provided an extensive list of references.
I knew exactly what I wanted/didn't want for specific reasons (even though it differed from what they would normally do) and Jon and his crew did exactly what I wanted perfectly. I have good familiarity as to the proper way to do things and they did things exactly as I expected in that regard.
They were less expensive than the highest estimate (who would not do things as I wanted) and only slightly more (about $300) than the least expensive estimate but worth every cent of the difference.
Moreover, while working, I could see that the crew identified, and properly fixed, a couple of problem issue spots on the roof that I didn't know I had - and I didn't get hit up with the typical "well that gonna cost a bunch extra" nonsense that some less honest contractors will raise - the guys just (properly) fixed things and moved on without a word to me!
Jon gave me his cell number "just in case any issue arose" and, at one point when there was a seeming miscommunication between the crew and my understanding regarding needing attic access, I contacted him and he almost immediately responded and cleared things up.
Finally, when they were done, the cleanup was exceptional. Again better than most contractors I have dealt with where you are finding scraps and remnants all over the place (including neighbors' yards). And anyone who has dealt with a roof replacement probably knows what I mean. In fact, as they were working, one guy was routinely walking around cleaning up things and making sure that stuff didn't go into any neighboring yard.
I would not hesitate to recommend Jon and his crew at American Home Contractors to anyone needing roofing work - repair or replacement - they are true professionals!

We contacted American Home contractor Chris back in Jan when I had some shingles in back of my roof blown off due to high winds. He was prompt to provide me with estimates explaining the issue. Jon - the owner stopped by next day to look at it and agreed with suggestion from insurance company the need for back half roof replacement.

Due to winter time, I delayed the roof replacement and got roof fixed with local handyman.

Fast forward, in March I had again similar damage to my roof - both in front and back of roof. This time I made the decision and contacted Chris and Jon requesting them to go ahead with my full roof replacement.

Within few hours I got the estimates which was very reasonable and in line with what insurance company suggested would cost for replacement.

Jon was very helpful in explaining what material to use to ensure I get the gold pledge warranty from GAF that I wanted to have.

My roof replacement work started on 3rd business day after my phone call and was done within a day. EXTREMELY HAPPY AND SATISFIED.

The whole crew was professional, they covered house with tarp type cloth before starting work. Used the professional equipment so work gets finished within a day.

We hired American Home Contractors to renovate the exterior of our office barn in Basking Ridge. The project involved removing old wood siding, installing Hardie Plank board and batten siding and AZEK trim and building a new roof over our main entrance. It was important that the new exterior not only stand up to the elements over time, but also compliment the historic downtown.

Chris was accurate and proactive in the quoting process and visited the project often to make sure we were happy and to help us make the best possible decisions throughout. Project managers Darwin and Eduardo have a keen eye for detail, great pride in their craft and kept things moving. When the team encountered water damage, they alerted us and were thorough in the removal and repair the affected areas.

They were all great to work with and they made the process fun and collaborative. The end result is truly a showpiece for our business and our town. Top notch contractor. We had to replace our roof after our insurance company threatened to drop us. AHC came to the rescue. Chris answered our endless questions and made sure that everything was the way we wanted it. He is friendly and was always available when we needed him.

The team kept us in the loop throughout the job and explained things as they worked. They repaired unexpected items and referred us to others when they couldn't. They always cleaned up thoroughly (more so than any other home improvement groups we have had).

I used NJAHC to install a new roof two years ago. Although I rarely leave reviews, I left one at that time commending the work of the entire team. The staff was superb, and their service, efficiency, workmanship and overall demeanor were exceptional.
Following a major rainstorm last week, we had a small water problem with unknown origin. When I left a message with NJAHC mentioning the issue (and that we had plumbers looking into its origin), not only did I receive a call back within hours, but Jon (the owner) came to my home to explore -- he went above and beyond what I would expect of our roof installer by exploring our attic to basement to try and identify the origin of the problem.
At this moment, we have not yet identified the issue, but both our plumbing company (Air Group) and Jon have been outstanding. Jon indicated that he "hopes it is a roof issue", because if it is, he knows that he can easily solve any problem.
Unfortunately, this type of service and accountability is rare in the service industry. Thanks to NJAHC and the entire team.

Super happy from start to finish. Reasonable price, all questions answered, and the crew that performed our roof replacement was crazy fast. Chris was the project manager and a breeze to work with. Highly recommended.

We recently replaced the roof on our Livingston home. We identified AHC as a candidate from the many positive comments on Next Door. For once that kind of crowd sourcing worked!

The things that were a priority for us were all done to a very high level by the AHC team. This included:
a. A wide range of options for roofing materials, including the color and durability of the shingles and all the related items.
b. A very fair price compared to other quotes we received.
c. Taking time to explain things like the quality considerations, the installation process, and clean up procedures.
d. A first price that remained the actual price, with no jiggery-pokery in unexpected costs or unforeseen circumstances.
e. A hard working team that was well equipped and full of energy. I wish other contractors had equal vim and vigor.
f. A full sized team that included one person feeding materials to the team on the roof and another person engaged in full time clean-up.
g. Taking real care in protecting the bushes and lawn decor. Likewise, they carefully swept the lawn with a big magnet and picked up all the nails and other debris.
h. Having the off-site supervisor visiting every couple of hours and remaining open to us for questions throughout.

The finished work is lovely. This is a good firm, and we appreciate their craftsmanship and positive way of dealing with customers. Thank you, AHC.

We recently had AHC redo all of our siding, trim and gutters. The job was fairly large and required a lot of attention to detail and custom work. Our first experience was with Dave who walked us through the estimating process and what to expect from the crew. Dave was super professional and very informative. The level of communication from the team throughout the project was great. The first team we worked with was under Pat. He and his team were awesome. Great attention to detail, high quality work and just overall very pleasant to work with. The next crew was under Darwin and, again, the same level of professionalism, high quality work and attention to detail. Dave was wonderful throughout the process, keeping us informed of everything and making sure we were comfortable with how things were coming along. Pricing was comparable to other estimates we had and well worth every penny given quality of work. Will definitely use again.

The best decision you will make. After a really bad experience with some renovations inside our home with another company, getting siding done was the last thing we wanted to add onto our list. Nevertheless, we had to get it done given our circumstances.

Chris and Patricio were nothing short of AMAZING. From the first consultation to the finished product, Chris was knowledgeable, professional, and great at communication. He worked with us given our tight budget having taken a loss in our other recent projects. Patricio and his team wowed us. Watching their hard work ethic, craftsmanship, and attention to detail really was impressive. I first called the office to request an estimate for new windows. The owner picked up, who was great. The owner said he would schedule a person to provide an estimate. Chris was scheduled to come between 9-11. We had to call for an ETA. Showed up an hour later. He took measurements and did not get any response for a week. Called the office for a follow up on the estimate. Chris ended up texting me saying that he was waiting for a sketch I had made for types of windows I wanted. I provided the sketches to him. 2 months later, still no response.

AHC is best in class. We used them for a very large project - new roof, new skylights, new siding, and new front door. From the very start of the project, beginning with the proposal process, Dave and the AHC were nothing but professional and demonstrated best in class customer service. Dave went above and beyond to ensure our questions were answered throughout the entire process and was very responsive in any asks we had. Once the crew began the project they moved quickly and treated the home and property with respect as if it was their own. Pat and Dave were phenomenal at understanding design issues / aspects that came up throughout the project and did a fantastic job cleaning up and wrapping up the loose ends (fair warning, a project as big as ours is very messy and invasive so be ready for that for two weeks). In terms of pricing, AHC was competitive with other quotes we received and worked with us on various asks along the way. The quality of the work, which is the most important part, was exceptional. We have never once regretted our decision to do the project and use AHC. Highly recommend using these guys.

The 1st job they did for us was new gutters, what an awesome job, the quality of the work is outstanding, today they put a new side door and storm door and the quality of the door is amazing, I highly recommend them and I will tell everyone their name and gladly give out their phone number, in the near future they will be replacing another door.

It can feel like an existential crisis to have a leaking roof and intensely frustrating because the roof was not that old (10yrs). Dave visited several times to make the diagnosis and also educate us on the issues which included siding as well. We made the leap and Pat & crew were a whirlwind of activity to finish the job in a timely manner with a full cleanup afterwards. Now the leak is fixed and more importantly i'm confident i wont have to think about this for another 20+ years--and if for some reason thats not the case, i'm also confident that Dave and AHC will stand behind their work, unlike many of the contractors out there.

Worked with Travis on a persistent roof leak above my home office, which seemed likely to require a small bit of resealing but potentially a roof replacement. Due to a busy season it took AHC quite a while to fit us in, but once they did, the work was done quickly and thoroughly, and for free as an apology for the delay.

Naturally, having the reseal done meant we had a multi-month drought after, but at this point we've finally had enough rain I can say the reseal worked as desired. Very happy and will return to AHC for future roofing needs.

WOW!! These guys are the real deal! Dave did initial evaluation of the roof replacement project and continued oversight through completion. Outstanding. Had reached out to American Home Contractors for an estimate on replacing my flat roof and for any potential solutions in creating pitch on it. They had reached out a week before to confirm my appointment and talked about some of the solutions that might work.

5 minutes before the appointment I received a call from AHC saying that I would need to hire an architect to raise the pitch of the roof and that they were no longer coming to give an estimate. I said that's fine but could they give me an estimate on just a roof replacement. Was told that they could just work off the satellite images and provide me an estimate. Never heard back from them or had anyone reach out.

Extremely disappointed in the time wasted and the lack of professionalism.

Prior to meeting Chris from American Home Contractors I had met with two other roofing contractors. They spent at least 3 to 4 hours at my home badgering me to sign a contract on the spot. A roof was a huge expense for me as I am retired.
My decision to hire American Home Contractors was made easy. Chris explained the process and the warranty that I would have. I read about the GAF products. I was home to watch their work which went without incident. His crew worked hard in blistering heat and the final product outperformed my expectations. Dave came out to provide suggestions for reconfiguring a gutter on the driveway side of our house. He took his time to measure and write out a diagram of the options. Water was leaking into the kitchen and after calling several other roofing contractors Dave was the only one to take the time to see where it was coming from. He also took the time to explain the whole process from ripping off the old roof, replacing some rotten wood, to the type of materials that were going to be used on the job. Pat and his crew are very professional and cleaned up after the project was finished. I would absolutely recommend using American Home Contractors.

American Home Contractors (NJAHC) did a great job replacing the roof shingles on my house. Project Manager Chris handled all aspects well -- assessment and job cost estimate, scheduling, job day, and wrapping up. He was polite and personable, and answered all our questions. As per standard, we got three quotes, which were competitive. In addition to Chris's service sense, what stood out to us in deciding was the NJAHC info packet and the ability to review references to see the workmanship of past jobs.

The team arrived on time and worked effectively. They left the job site clean. We ordered the Biscayne Blue architectural shingles, and they look great. Our roof has no overhang or soffit venting, so we also accepted a recommendation that the roofers install intake venting to improve attic breathability. The work has a strong warranty.

My 23-year-old asphalt shingle roof had begun to leak in heavy rainstorms, so I knew it was time to have it replaced. Accordingly, I did my research and then scheduled meetings with four (4) different local area roofers. American Home Contractors (AHC) was, by far, the best I company interviewed. As a licensed professional engineer, I asked very good questions. Dave DaVeiga, the AHC representative and project manager, always gave me very good answers. He consistently demonstrated a polite and professional manner as he walked me thru the recommended shingle choices and options, such as ridge vents and larger replacement gutters.
Once I decided to contract with AHC, Dave keep me updated every step of the way with regard to the planned work schedule. The AHC roofers were at my home early on the morning of the scheduled workday and quickly set to work removing the old roof and installing the new one. The project foreman, Pat, patiently and professional reviewed my written list of concerns and addressed them all to my complete satisfaction. The work was completed on time and on budget. All the debris was collected and removed leaving my property and shrubbery clean and undamaged.

Dave from American Home Contractors was very helpful and informative about the type and style of gutters that would best fit the type of roof I had. The installation was perfect. They took down my old gutters, cleaned everything up and my new gutters looked great. Very good price too. Will definitely recommend them to my friends and family. Thank you for a job well done.

fantastic work! Friendly, capable, and great attention to detail. Dave was only contractor who spent more than 5 minutes walking around the property (Dave climbed on the roof, was there for over an hour). Whole crew was friendly, completed the job in a timely manner, and left property spotless. Not the cheapest - and it shows!

High recommendation. We aren’t sure if our problem is completely solved yet, but Chris from American Home came to our house to scout out a leak into our living room coming from somewhere around the second floor dormers after we made contact through the website (even through their scheduling nightmare after Hurricane Ida). Chris spotted a likely problem and suggested trying a less-expensive solution there first before going into an expensive roofing and siding job. We’re in the wait and see period with the first level repair. So far so good. If we need the bigger job after all, they’ll be at the top of our list for the next phase.

Recently had my roof replaced by American Home Contractors. The team are very efficient, my project manager Dave is transparent and their customer service is great.

If you have any issues or need roof replacement, just talk to Dave. Seriously just talk to him! I really don't know what else to say. If you meet Dave, you will understand what I mean.

Even if you have no knowledge about roofing, he will guide and make sure you understand the whole process. He will tell you which work is necessary for your project and won't try to sell unnecessary work.

We did whole roofing, gutter, and skylight replacement. The foreman, Patricio and his crew did beautiful job for my home.

Unbelievable attention to detail and customer care! Jon and his team were extremely easy to work with and they did an excellent job replacing our entire roof and gutter system and added a vent to help prevent ice damming. We were very pleased with the work. A couple of months later we noticed a leak in our kitchen ceiling which has an upper level deck above it. Jon came out right away to investigate. He took half a day testing various entry points for the water and found the problem. It had nothing to do with the roof they had installed but they repaired it for us anyway. That’s the kind of customer service you don’t come across very often any more. Normally I’m very suspicious of service companies (having been disappointed in the past) but Jon Parker and American home contractors won my trust and I would definitely recommend them very highly. I would hire them again without hesitation. Thank you for all your hard work! Update July 2023- had a minor issue with my gutter guards and Chris came out the same day I called and spent an hour and a half fixing the problem. No charge. Incredible customer service especially in this day and age. I highly recommend them!!
