Every time I go in the Ace in Pahoa and John is there I learn something new. He’s very informative and takes the time to share his wisdom. Best hometown hardware store! All friendly, helpful employees.

Pahoa Ace has happy and helpful employees, and always has what I'm looking for! I bought a lock, Air freshener, and they're always well stocked on 39 gallon sz. trashbags! Plus I always look forward to seeing John & Sharon! They're the the best! Manager seems pretty cool too!

Employees here suck. Came in and while I'm shopping my wife needed a restroom somewhat desperately. The employees refused to let her use the bathroom saying it was a theft concern. The irony was the employees look like they just got out of prison themselves but we as customers spending a couple hundred dollars, are somehow a risk. Just go to HPM where the employees are decent human beings

Pahoa Ace Hardware was my favorite Ace. It was easy to order online, drive in back, pick up items and leave. Practically seamless until my last visit. The gate was locked, I had to park,stand in line just to get back in my vehicle to drive in back. The employees didn't eben attempt to liad my items. Able bodied men just standing there. The items were covered in rain and waterlogged. I will take my business elsewhere. I have been shopping at Ace for decades.

Been shopping here for many years. Recently within the pass year or so I've noticed a lot of new workers that had little to no expertise on hardware items. I even over hear some of them single out customers and talking bad about them at the store and even outside of work! Very unethical and unprofessional. Will be submitting a complaint to management about this!

The people and service at this hardware store are excellent. Super friendly and helpful even to novices like me, and very reasonable with people who buy the wrong thing by accident. Would recommend to anyone looking to do DIY home improvements.

The older dude John helped me find a plumping part I really needed to save my Christmas eve and he was super kind and informative.
My inlaws would not have liked it if I didn't have drinkable water for their visit. Thank you to the whole Ace team and John especially for working so hard the day before Christmas.

Good hardware store. It's a little pricey, but when I need one piece to finish a project. I'm so happy it's here.

They pack a lot of stuff in a medium sized building. I've worked all over the United States, sometimes out in the boondocks hours away from a large city when we realized we don't have this important piece of hardware or some oddball tool or special fasteners. Good ace hardware comes through time after time. Many a boss had been stressed out needing something that will stop work or the job I've told them google the nearest ace usually most small or tiny towns have one. The pahoa store is no exception. Friendly helpful knowledge staff plus they have a rewards program

Ace hardware in Pahoa is the closest hardware store. Staff is incredible friendly and helpful. I needed a generator that was out of stock the staff called another hardware store and verified the generator I wanted was in stock. So far with the two hardware stores I have visited and the one Big Box store I have visited Ace absolutely beyond a doubt has the best customer service by far.

Has everything that you want- except when you NEED IT- They are always out of the item or the sale items.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff there were able to help me find everythint i needed. Not usually too busy, I would highly recommend this Ace Hardware!

Way over priced and two of the people who work there have major attitudes for whatever reason ... Given the choice I would go anyplace other than ace hardware pahoa . Dont count on anything in stock and don't count on getting propane even the are open and it's not out of stock ...asa ...Gary .... If you don't like your job just quit ..

Best place in the Pahoa area to get anything you might need. From electrical parts to simple nuts and bolts. They have a gardening section as well, I haven't gone thru the vastness of it but I'm sure it's on past with the old-school hardware store aesthetic.

Although small and somewhat limited in what they carry, you can usually find all the basics. The employees are helpful and friendly, and there is seldom a long line. When something breaks in Eastern Puna, you sure are grateful that this store exists!

It's an Ace Hardware. Some of the employees are very helpful. And the ones who are not helpful will grab the helpful ones for you.

It's about the people, not the product. With all the new faces around, it's nice to see some familiar ones.
Still the best choice of all the options available. Maybe you can find a bigger selection or a slightly cheaper price if you go to Hilo. But do the guys in Hilo know your name? Or do they have any advice on what you are doing? What about just a friendly smile? No they don't have any of that waiting for you in Hilo. All that you find in Hilo Town are inexperienced underachievers that do their best to hide from actually doing work and text friends or check out social media and post about how much they hate working and deserve a raise. Same one's that when you do find them and ask a question, they act like you are disturbing their valuable time for some trivial need that's beneath them to attend. You all know what I'm talking about. Screw them stick with the home team, friends, family and neighbors who actually want to help you out.

This is a nice friendly place the only problem I have is that they don't always have everything that you might want or need I had to go to orchidland general store to actually get the chainsaw fuel lines I needed and generally the Ace in Keaau is a lot better

I give all the workers 5 stars for always being friendly, professional and hardworking,alot of the staff goes above n beyond the help all that come there daily,thank you But I was there yesterday to get a air guage they were out. it was a little hot the workers told me the A/C has been broken five years ago,seems to me that ACE HARDWARE is a big corporation with location's all over,we all know that alot of people lost their jobs and sadly some people lost more in the past two years.with that being said alot of these big hardware stores made record profits but they have no money to fix the a/c for the workers, customers etc.its sad to see how little these big companies like home Depot, Ace hardware, United airlines, Hawaiian airlines, Hawaiian TEL com.get bailed out left n right by all taxpayers money,I bet all CEO s have never missed a raise or bonus ,while all us little guys on the bottom keep suffering .I think it's time we put all these kind of big companies on blast,if you have a 808 business then you should pay for a 808 call center ,where the people answering the phones actually know about the place your calling.lets all start a revolution keep complaining to companies till they do right by the customers,Aloha

Always heading to Ace when I need something for nearly any project around the house. Unlike HD, Ace keeps that hardware store feeling going with a wide variety of products and friendly folks to help you through.

My review was responded to by blowing up our phones and harassment. Given. An option to repair damage he chose not to. That is not reliable nor profession. Personal attacks on a review are not what will change it. Nor will threatening me. Pictures of damage have been publicly and will be relayed to the union. You had a chance to repair. It was completely your. Choice not to due so.

Ace hardware locations are professional and well stocked.

I hate to say that this location has become a eye sore to the community.
Empty shelfs, and when they hire someone new
The good ones don't stay.
The real disappointment was to see the long term employees turning disgruntled.
Home Depot, better bet in finding what you need,and nicer associates

Ace Hardware is like an institution on the big island nicest people and they work there a long time and they are there to help you sincerely and they're cool talking with them will help your project.All Is great there, it's ACE right!
