If anyone is looking for a quality company to do your roof and or gutters, I highly recommend Academy Roofing. Stacy and her Forman, Omar, were exceptional. Stacy is very knowledgeable and stayed by us throughout the entire roof replacement. Omar and his crew are very skilled and listened to concerns we had with previous roof problems and skillfully came up with remedies to solve all of our concerns. Mercedes and her husband did an amazing job with our gutter and gutter guard replacement. They listened to problems we had with our old gutters and gutter guards and did a very skillful job with not only replacing both with a quality product but also cam up with solutions to all previous problems. This was a very pleasant experience and once they were finished, they clean up so well, you could not even tell they had been here. Stacy was very through and documented the before and after to insure all had been taken care of and the job done skillfully. I can not say enough about how satisfied we were to have worked with both Stacy and Mercedes. They used only quality materials and skilled workers. We very highly recommend Academy Roofing.

Stacy Kirby is an amazing project manager who was on top of every detail of the reroofing project. The Academy roofing crew was efficient, paid attention to detail and was very cognizant of the surrounding townhome neighbors.

The community is 20 years old and all the roofs will soon need replacing to secure homeowner’s insurance, if they haven't already done so. Stacy did a great job of locating a color the perfectly matches the roofs that have already been changed out elsewhere in the community (photo2)

Very professional company. We are so wary of the many "roofing companies" out there that descended on our neighborhood, going door-to-door, after a roof-damaging hailstorm. We knew that we would only trust Academy Roofing and one other company and only dealt with these two companies that we knew of through referrals of neighbors who had used them. We ultimately went with Academy. The main tipping points were the sales rep who is knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful (and answered all my questions/concerns and never pushed me), and the owners' ties to the community here.

This is not a reputable company in my experience. I had work done on our chimney and brought in Academy roofing to re-do the roof and flashing after the chimney repair. Shortly after the repair my wife noticed a leak below where the work was done. then after the snow we had recently a large leak formed. They installed the wrong materials for the job according to two other roofers that I spoke with to repair the leaking roof that they caused. They used rolled roofing on the cricket instead of shingles to save money I guess?!? I gave them the opportunity to admit to the hack job and perform the required repairs. They chose to quote me $1500 MORE for general roof maintenance like blowing out the gutters, caulking nail heads, not admitting their initial failure and perfectly content with charging me for more work while not addressing the obvious cause of the leak. I'm not a negative review writer and tried to speak with the owner or someone in charge, but was blown off so. Hopefully this helps the next person! I'm obviously not going to give these scammers any more money and would highly recommend that you do the same. Trust the negative reviews on here and hopefully we can keep the scammers from robbing anyone else

Academy Roofing is the best! I have used them twice now for 2 different repairs. Not only was the communication excellent, they showed up on time and the repairs are flawless and on top of all that they are super reasonable and honest.

We had a few different companies come out to give us quotes and they were very quickly our top choice. Not only because of the price but also because they are a locally owned company with a great reputation and their communication, and follow up was better than all the others. Project Manager, Bailey, was with us every step of the way from explaining the process, going over pricing, helping with our roof color choice, and she was onsite the entire time sending us text and photo updates of the progress. I would absolutely use Academy Roofing again and I highly recommend them for anyone who needs their roof repaired or replaced!!

Bailey was great through the whole process of getting our roof replaced. She worked with myself and the insurance company. She effectively communicated with me throughout the process so I was always sure of what was happening at each stage. The crew finished the roof and she followed up after to make sure all expectations were met. Even the president or owner of the company not sure of exact title climbed on my roof and helped inspect! Couldn’t recommend them enough.

I rarely leave bad reviews but I'm extremely dissatisfied with the quality of work, timeliness, and lack of coordination with Academy this time around. I needed a leak repaired in a roof valley and asked for a couple spots to have the soffit and fascia repaired again by them. I was told they'd be out in a week to get it done but it took 3+ weeks after multiple visits, work left incomplete, and calls/messages to figure out what was going on. Thank God it didn't rain. One day I took off work to be home just for them to reschedule at 4pm. At one point I had a large hole left in my soffit for a week from one spot left unfinished with no word from the worker. He just left. When they did get back to it, the work was sloppy and crooked. The wood grain shows through in both repaired spots, like no primer and rushed painting. That work is not something I would be proud of as a company or a home owner. I was also told I needed new gutters on one part of my roof and that they would be color matched. My house exterior is a yellow cream and the gutters installed were brown. I had to reach out yet again and was told that was as close as they could get. They finally agreed to painting them my exterior color. For what I paid, this was not at all worth it. Way too much of a hassle and chasing people to do the job right. I asked the rep to come by and take a look at everything with me but that never happened. I just gave up and will not be using them in the future. I pray the leak was repaired correctly because I am in the process of getting the interior leak damage fixed now and don't feel like wasting more money or time.

*I was told in writing the gutters were taking so long because of color matching. It's in our conversation history that they would be color matched. My comment about the painting is for the soffit, not the fascia, as seen in my pictures of the soffit. I didn't ask for additional work on site to be free of charge. I asked Stacy about an additional area she pointed out to me on the initial inspection, maybe a 1 inch hole? She asked the guy on site to take care of it while he was there because it was forgotten. We asked him 3 times how much extra it would be and he said it was up to Stacy. I also asked for more information on the gutter guards before I agreed to the proposal and never received anything. Apparently also forgotten. I was also told we would come up with a water diverter or other solution for the water flow issue in my valley but then was told nothing could be done when I asked about it after the work was completed. The whole project felt completely disorganized. And this response doesn't even acknowledge the sloppy work.

Crew arrived early and did an excellent job on replacement of my roof which has some challenging and steep roof lines. Scott was present on the job both days to ensure it went as planned and pick up any additional supplies as were needed. Very pleased with the results. Roger Hopper

Follow up to installation, with the first significant rain, we had a pretty serious leak from the flat roof that was replaced. I texted Scott Pierce with pictures, Scott came immediately with his ladder and got up and checked the roof and determined where he felt the leak might be. Scott called his installer, they came the same day, made the repairs, and today we had a rain day and NO LEAKS. Thanks to Scott and his team for such a quick response and outstanding customer service! Roger Hopper

In May the leak did reoccur and I contacted Scott Pierce about it. He sent a crew the next day to find the leak, they repaired it and with all the rain in the past month we have not had a leak.

They found a leaking boot around pipe and rotting boards underneath. They replaced the boot and boards, some new shingles, sealed all other boots and nails. They did a thorough job making sure everything on the roof was sealed. They then cleaned the roof and driveway. They took lots of before and after pictures. Overall a first class job.

Academy Roofing is the best. Three years ago they did fantastic repair to my chimney problematic leaky chimney. Three months ago, after a hail storm, they were honest and told me that my roof was undamaged and told me why (saved a needless claim on insurance). Today, Scott came out to check a roof leak. Someone installed a downspout wrong causing water to go under the shingles in a downpour. He didn’t cause the problem but he got up on the roof and fixed it for free!

After receiving a cold call from a roofing company a couple of months ago, I got on Yelp to request estimates from a few more companies before making a final decision. I was hesitant to request an estimate from Academy because I expected they would be much more expensive since they are a better-known company, so I was afraid I might be wasting my time (and theirs). Now, I’m so glad I clicked that button! They were able to schedule a later inspection time for me so I didn’t have to leave work early, which I appreciated. Communication was great from inspection to completion. Stacy arrived on time and introduced herself before taking photos with her drone to share her findings with me. When she finished, she came inside and reviewed the images with me, took time to educate me with her materials, and provided me with an estimate. I was delighted to find her estimate was not only lower than the other three I had obtained, but I would be getting a higher quality shingle for less than the others! She made me feel comfortable from the start, was never pushy, and provided a concierge feel throughout the entire process - personally overseeing the replacement while I was at work, providing me with updates, and making sure all debris was cleaned up when her crew was finished. I had a wonderful experience with Academy and highly recommend them!

Fast forward to June 2025 when a fallen tree limb penetrated the roof’s decking. It was raining daily so I immediately called Academy Roofing. Stacy arranged to tarp the damage and was kind to guide me throughout the roofing process.

Just had our chimney re-sealed, recapped, and the siding replaced. Academy Roofing did a fantastic job! Had a small roof leak that needed one of the vents replaced and sealed. I was able to get an estimate within a couple of days and the job was done within a week. Overall very good experience. One small thing - be aware that you’ll be charged a 3% fee if you pay by credit card.

I had a nagging roof leak over my patio. I called Academy, and found they live up to their 'we educate, you decide' motto. They have a warranty on their work. Even after their initial repair to my roof, they came to follow up when I saw an issue and completed additional work to ensure the leak stopped.

Scott from Academy Roofing came to inspect an area where I thought I had a leak causing some potential rotting of the fascia. Probably a $400 fix at least in my estimate. He climbed the ladder and found that my gutter was simply clogged causing it to overflow, and he cleaned it out on the spot. The fascia was discolored but in good shape. Thanks for making my day Scott!

I have had my roof replaced before by another company. But I will NEVER use anyone else but Academy Roofing!! Every single person that we dealt with was absolutely great. From day one until it was done. And they had to work during the winter months. Absolutely fantastic work and great people. I cant thank them enough!!!!

Academy roofing took the time to find the exact problem and offered me a fix that was incredibly fair in price . They were quick to come out and fix the issue . I would highly recommend them ! We chose this business because of the 5 stars and that is why I made sure to give an honest rating on the work they did at our house when we were not present. They charged us nearly $600, yet the job was sub par. To me, the job they did on my gutters could have been done by anyone. Especially considering they left debris all over my air conditioner, steps, etc. It makes me question if they did an efficient job on my roof repair. Only time will tell.

Academy Roofing has been my choice for roofing services for several years now. They are attentive and their staff communicates well to keep me informed of what is going on. I have had them do Gutter work, roof work, chimney work and Skylight repair work and have been happy with all of the work they have done.

They responded to my request for an estimate quickly. They took the extra time to go up into my attic to see the condition of the underside of my roof. They did a good job explaining what needed to be done. They were not the cheapest estimate I received, but they did tell me about the wood that needed to replaced on the roof first thing, where the other said they would have to wait and see once they got the shingles off. Other company did not look at my attic, so it would have cost me more than their estimate when they saw the condition of the wood on my roof. Once I gave them the ok, they came out within a week to get the job done. Great communications during the process.

The manager was prompt in inspecting and providing us with a quote for quality skylights at a fair price. However, the process of getting our skylights installed was disappointing. The first day they were scheduled install was rained out (which of course happens). I was rescheduled for the following week. The rescheduled day came and went. AR was a no call/no show. An email to the company assured me I was on the schedule for the following day. However, they were again a no call/no show. Again, the company was contacted and stated that someone would be out the following day to install the skylights. The next day I received a call from the installer stating he was 20-30 minutes away. About 30 minutes later he called back saying he was too sick to work. After contacting the company yet again, AR said someone would be out the next morning for sure. The same installer called the next day to say he would be arriving soon. When he arrived weather was too poor to work but was forecasted to be perfect later in the day. As it wasn’t dire, we agreed for him to be back at 9:00 am on the following Monday. All this was relayed to AR office, and I was told that the manager would be following up by phone or email about my experience. I was never contacted. Monday the installer finally shows up at 10:30, drops his crew off and leaves for another job. They finally finish, but then I noticed the mess they left. A couch where one of the skylights is located was covered in dirt and dry wall dust. There were also dirty handprints left on the painted ceiling where they had reached in while working. The following day, I received a bill that overcharged me by $750/20% (matching an outdated estimate – this was quickly corrected after notifying their office). COVID has strained many industries in the US, leaving many without enough workers and short on supplies. Maybe this is the case at Academy Roofing regarding their installers or if their costumer service has taken a down turn. For their sake, I hope my experience was just a one off. In any case, the lack of effective communication was disappointing and, at times, just plain infuriating. The skylights seem to be correctly installed, but I expect to seek other bids for our future roofing needs.

Update, once we figured out the scheduling hiccup everything went well, the salesman that came out was very knowledgeable and repair/install was quick and reasonably priced. Only negative would be the install crew left a bit of construction debris but nothing that couldn't be cleaned up with a little effort.

Academy Roofing repaired our roof last year and did a fantastic job of fixing the leaks we were having around improperly installed flashing and vent boots. We developed another leak during one of the recent heavy rains and Shane Satterfield came out immediately to inspect the leak. It turned out to be a problem with a gutter. Shane was great about explaining the problem and what the gutter company who installed it would need to do to fix it. He didn't charge anything for his time and was amazingly responsive. This is one of the most ethical roofing companies I have ever dealt with and their work is top notch. I wish I could have a Shane for all our house issues!

Called Academy roofing to do a roof inspection as i was having wet spots show up on my ceiling. Getting an appointment scheduled was very easy. After scott came out i agreed to have general roof maintenance done for an estimate of $695. An estimate means this is how much it could cost not how much we are going to charge you for very little work.

My roof maintenance appointment was scheduled for Saturday and I was told by Bailey someone would call me to let me know they would on there way.

Well Friday i have people staring in my windows and then Eddie calls me to let me know they are there. He was rather rude when i was like you are supposed to come tomorrow (saturday). He informed me it was going to rain saturday and he wasn't going to work in the rain. That bailey was supposed to have to called and told me that the schedule was changing.

When i spoke with Bailey she told that Eddie was supposed to have called me. I don't appreciated companies where employees throw each other under the boss. Doesn't speak to a good company environment nor does it give me a great impression of the company.

Also, i had other work scheduled for Friday that i had to move because of their unannounced arrival.

So eddie and his crew spent 10 minutes on my roof and i have a bill for 695. When i asked for a detailed summary i got some images of a roof. With no proof that it is actually my roof and was told eddie brought extra people so the work went fast. Well... that's a lie. There was only one dude that went up on my roof.

I appreciated the quick response and service, even though my need was a small job. They sent a very friendly roofer to handle my needs.

Scott at Acadamy Roofing is very professional and made made arrangements to tarp my roof very quickly! Once the proposal was signed the roof was up in a matter of days. Looks great!

Within a year after moving into our new home, we noticed a leak in our bedroom from the roof. The house had just had the roof replaced with Academy a year prior to us moving, so I called them to come take a look knowing it was still well within their warranty period. After having to pay to transfer the warranty, a rep came out to look and said it was just a couple of shingles that needed to be replaced but everything else looked fine so the leak was probably from a faulty piece of wood around the chimney (which we paid to have replaced). Fast forward 3 months, the leak came back. I once again called Academy and left a detailed message and did not receive a call back. I've since had 3 other roofing companies out to assess the situation and compare opinions to get to the bottom of the issue - all 3 of them said essentially the same thing: we need a complete re-flash around our chimney because the flashing was not replaced with the roof installation. It is frustrating that I'm out of pocket for the transfer fee as well as the fee to repair the chimney wood, and am now back at square one to correctly repair the original issue.

UPDATE: upon hearing of my experience, the president of Academy personally reached out to make good on the situation. They not only refunded the transfer fee in good faith, but also offered to completely redo the flashing and chimney repairs free of cost. While the initial experience wasn’t ideal, this appears to be an isolated situation and the customer service received through Academy to rectify the situation was stellar and greatly appreciated.

Scott here was great. Beyond honest and told me what needed to be done for way less than I would have paid him to do. Felt very trustworthy. Highly recommend.

Had a roof put on after Florence in Nov 2018. The company traveled to the coast most likely to do many jobs but is refusing to come back to fix what is wrong with the one they put on our home! The wArranty company has reached out to Academy roofing, however, they will not do what is required according to the warranty company. I, too, called them and they said they would not come back since it’s too far.

During a recent storm we had shingles blow off which exposed severe issues with the entire roof.
Rotten OSB boards..shingles with too many nails and driven in too far, wrong underlayment used for the type of shingle we got, and 8-10 inches of lift on the shingles which will cause more to blow off on any other storm. We have had several estimates for repair since they will not return to fulfill their end of the warranty that was purchased. All companies have advised that work was not done correctly. We are now having to pay for what should have been done when the new roof was out on initially. Buyers beware!!! Have many pictures if needed!
