Above & Beyond Contractors installed a new roof on my home in April and it was the WORST experience of my life!
They put a GIANT hole in the ceiling of my office/guest room! One of the contractors either dropped a piece of plywood or package of shingles on the roof and it came through the roof and collapsed the ceiling! The owner (Lamonte Jones) came inside to assess the damage and said, “These things happen sometimes” and he would have his drywall team repair it. I knew it wouldn’t be that simple, as my house was built in 1972 (during the time asbestos was used in paint) and the ceiling that collapsed was a popcorn ceiling (a key indicator of possible asbestos), so I told Mr. Jones that I would need to have asbestos testing done before the ceiling could be repaired.
Mr. Jones stated he did not see any asbestos and proceeded to have his crew clean up the debris using my shop vac and cleaning supplies. I tried explaining that once disturbed, asbestos particles become airborne and can have harmful health effects. I asked Mr. Jones for a sample to have tested, but he said all debris had been discarded.
I contacted Environmental Renovation Group to schedule testing and asked Mr. Jones if he would be willing to pay for the test; he declined. I called the Asbestos Inspector to have him explain the reason for testing, but Mr. Jones did not agree. I also offered to let him meet with the Asbestos Inspector; he declined.
I agreed to pay for the testing myself, and if it came back negative, we could have one of his contractors repair the ceiling, but if positive, I would need his insurance information to request reimbursement for testing and costs of asbestos clean-up/remediation, but he refused to provide it.
The results of the initial test and background sample taken from all 3 floors in my home were both positive and confirmed that my office had indeed been exposed to asbestos and was the only room affected and found to have unsafe levels of asbestos. I had to pay for both tests out of pocket, so I had to file an insurance claim. I was able to locate his insurance information but was advised that his policy did not cover asbestos. Mr. Jones did not have the proper coverage for the industry he is in, so I had to contact my insurance to file the claim, which is still in progress.
The level of unprofessional and disrespect I endured during the process was HORRIFIC! Think again before using this company!

We had an unfortunate event with a tree falling on our house. It happened during winter. We got a recommendation from my grandmother to use this company and we were not disappointed. The estimate was done quickly with consideration and the utmost professionalism.We needed our siding, roof, and gutters replaced and all 3 jobs were done quickly and in a timely manner. Communication was on point on their end and with our insurance company. I highly recommend using them for your repair needs!

Lamonte and his crew were a pleasure to have replace our roof. He was always good about communicating clearing and confirming that we understood pricing, possible complications, and timing. His guys were real pros too, they put in a 13 hour day in upper 80 degree weather. They replaced and entire roof and subroof with such speed and craftsmanship that it was a real sight to behold. We had actually seen his guys at our neighbor's place before we hired them and felt confident that they were the right choice for us. Above & Beyond is a real standout as far as contractors go and I would recommend work with Lamonte to anyone. He will meet your needs and at a fair price.

I am incredibly humbled and impressed with the customer service, promptness and execution of Above & Beyond Contractors. We had Lamont give us a bid for new gutters at my home. He came the same day and within a week (as promised) I had new gutters on my home. They look astonishing! The technicians were quick, courteous and did a great job with the clean-up. I have various moving parts to my life, one being a home dog boarding business and two, my home backs up into a forested area. Lamont recommended gutters with leaf protection. I’m so excited to know that I don’t need to worry about my gutters, or more importantly, my home with this protection in place. Also, he was very sensitive to the fact that I have a high volume of pet traffic; the cleanup was immaculate. Several of my neighbors have mentioned how great the gutters look, and how they make my home look so much more modern and new! Impressively enough, one of the things that I appreciate about Lamont is how courteous and transparent and patient he was with us. We spent a good 20 minutes just deciding on the color of the gutters (lol) and he was with us every step of way giving us recommendations, etc. Above & Beyond asked for half of the price (which was INCREDIBLY affordable) upfront and then the other half after a satisfied completion. Again, my schedule is super hectic. Lamont was so awesome in coordinating final payment and completion paperwork collection. He advised me that within the next 5-6 years, I’d be looking at a new roof… and I’ll definitely be contacting him again for those services! I am highly impressed and thankful for this company!
