I would recommend A1 Property Inspections to anyone who wants a team that is professional, responsive and polite. Janet and Michael are wonderful people, not robots pushing you to a self-checkout machine. They answered the phone, called back quickly, and kept their word. Working with them was stress free. I really appreciated their kindness and attention to detail.

EDIT: I hate leaving bad reviews and I don’t leave bad reviews. But after spending $500+ I think this was a waste of my own money! My girlfriend and I are first time home buyers. I’ve never gone through the process of doing an inspection. But I’ve been around the construction industry for a while now. At first everything seemed to be going good. I was present during the inspection. We were going around with him seeing a couple issues (outlets, water heater, ect). When it came to the crawl space he opened it up went to the stairs and took a couple pictures and was done. He did not inspect my furnace. Which I thought was weird. I didn’t question him because he’s the “professional” right? So we continue the inspection as we get to the part where he needs to get into the attic he puts his ladder up and attempts to go in. As he does that a bit of insulation falls. He then says he will not go into the attic because of that reason. He didn’t want insulation to fall on the ground. That’s where I really started to question my decision on picking this company! I’ve spoke with serval realtors who also use them and have heard even more issues. So I’m not the only one. In my opinion especially during an inspection of a home. The attic should be looked at! Also the furnace. God forbid something was wrong in the attic. He seemed to do some of the bare minimum. This is not to bash anyone, but more to let others know to choose wisely on using this company.
I’m not deleting my first review because it’s still true. They are respectful, very friendly. Just will not use them again!

Janet and Michael were very helpful and knowledgeable inspectors. Janet was very quick in getting back to me regarding scheduling my inspection and all the required paperwork. As a first time home buyer I was not super prepared for the information I would learn at the inspection but I was so happy I went while Michael was there. He walked me through a variety of mechanicals in the home and was extremely detailed in laying out how the inspection report would look once it was written up and sent to me. I really appreciated his advice and lens as he looked through the house and gave me great information to have as a first time home buyer. Following my inspection I had a few follow up questions from my homeowners insurance company that were not explicitly covered in the inspection report (type of frame the house was built on, when the electric was last replaced) and Janet and Michael answered all my questions. The price was about what was anticipated by my realtor and everything was upfront, no hidden fees. I would definitely use A1 again in the future.

A1 inspected my new home 2 years ago now. As a first time home buyer, looking back, I feel I got taken advantage of. $400 for inspection. Man shows up in a clean SUV with no ladder rack and a 6 foot ladder. Says “it’s too windy to inspect the roof.” Showing up with a 6 foot ladder, there’s no intention to inspect any roof. I should have asked him to come back another day then, when it’s safe for him to inspect the roof. He only pokes his head in the attic. Does not go in it and fully inspect. There’s a half crawlspace. He says “I can’t go in there without it airing out for 2 hours, I’ll suffocate and die because there’s no oxygen.” I should’ve kicked him out right there, because there’s all kinds of vents and it’s a large airspace with plenty of oxygen at all times. I’m in there several times these past weeks with no issue.
All the window sills have minimal to extensive rot due to storm windows being caulked on the bottom not allowing for drainage. Heavily caulked to hide the holes. A simple pencil poke could have detected this, but the man who does this for a living failed this simple check.
He also did not detect a crack repair in the foundation.
Consider that while it took me some months to detect these things, this is my first home purchase, I’ve never been through a home inspection before, and I do not inspect homes for a living.
Looking back I have decided I will NEVER use A1 inspections because I feel the inspection was not thorough, and that I was taken advantage of. Do not learn the hard way like me. I recommend searching for a company that performs a more thorough inspection of roofs and attics, everything they can easily get to, even if it costs a little more money.

Beware! Do not use this company. They do not know how to do thorough, proper inspections. They will screw you over just to make a few bucks. Very unprofessional and incompetent. They also have loopholes in their contract basically saying they are not responsible for doing their job correctly and professionally. Mike had every excuse in the book to not do many tasks. You have been warned!
We are actually a second time client! Please don’t put false information on here Mike! Mikes wife claims fake reviews but we have receipts for the terrible services they provided. What a terrible business practice…

A1 Property Inspectors inspected my home before we purchased it and I was very happy I had them do a radon inspection. The radon levels in the home were well above the acceptable levels and the home had to have the remediation done. They were very professional, prompt with appointments and very knowledgeable.
